Can the Riot Shield get a buff? It's extremly underpowered compared to other weapons, It doesn't even fully protect you.
Some buffs for it could be:
Faster movement while covering yourself
A secondary attack, charge like, when you hold the shield up and press the attack button at the same time you charge forward, like charge N slam, of course without the destruction effects
Either speed the up the baton animation a bit or at least increase the weapon melee range, a lot of times my characters lunge at the enemies but the hit doesn't connect it just becomes an endless chase, or even give it some kind of dazzing effect, when you hit somebody with the baton it slows them down, it does make sense considering it's made for that irl.
Moral of the story, the shield needs to be buffed, i know some people hate it or will find this controversial, i don't want the shield to be busted but have a place in the game as viable option for those who wanna use it and as of now it doesn't

59 days that’s 1416 hours of straight grinding contracts (not counting match XP or spending to progress) to complete the battle pass. It’s not realistic in my opinion although you get around 95 days to complete, it doesn’t feel realistic for an average person. There should be some tweaking, like other ways to earn xp.

medium is meant to lose to light because it’s the support class. you are meant to play near your team so that if you’re getting shot, your team can help you. and shotguns don’t heave a headshot multiplier because it would make the damage you take from them very inconsistent and frustrating to play against. more so than they already are. although i agree that the shotguns need tuning and i think the light double barrel needs a rework

The game is pretty well rounded but I think there should be a slight nerf of the rpg as lights do get 1 shotted, also it isn't that hard to actually hit a light player.
I also think that in ranked mode people should also get a skin for reaching plat of course it would have to be a worse skin but I still think you deserve something other than just a badge (I THINK IT IS A BADGE)

Combating a Riot Shield is at most an inconvenience, they're incredibly easy to take down as any class. And there's a reason why we barely see any team with a shielder get past Knockout Round 1 in Ranked Tournaments.

The moment you realise they're forced to run and expose themself to even get close to you, the fact you can just run away, 180° and shoot again, if you have even the most basic of game sense, shields become trivial to counter.

Sure you can catch people off guard and score some kills, but catching anyone off guard with a weapon is going to be a kill.

Also, this invis bs is stupid, I have an idea for a balance for it; Once the light player emerges from invis, it goes on cooldown for at least 3-5 seconds. There is no justified reason that they can just spam it for so much that they can wipe an entire team in less than one second, and people were complaining that heavy is OP.

Why do placed Mines on building surfaces or the ground feel like they are actually difficult to shoot accurately sometimes. But the second I attach a Mine to a barrel and pick up the barrel they have a hit box larger than my character? Many times I have been carrying a barrel with a mine on it and get shot at and within the first two bullets the mine has been exploded (regardless of distance from shooter).

Love the game have sunk 80 hours in the past week and a half. I really like how melee feels but id love another patch for it. Personally id change the right click on the dagger to a straight hitbox without the curve since it curranty clips shoulders if your too close and just doesn't count as a backstab even if it is aimed square at theirs back this is mainly a problem with stabbing lights since they are smol. Other thing is riot shield i think it should block melee it wont make muck of a positive differences because of how the hitboxes seem to work but would add a bit of skill. When a building is destroyed and big chunks of the floor don’t break like on Vegas or the skyscraper map please embark for the love of god let us climb/mantle the broken pieces. There’s no reason a roof is at a 60 degree angle and I go to climb it just for the broken building to turn into a piece of ice and I go sliding off of it. Please can we make it so that if an enemy is holding an explosive barrel / gas can, it explodes instantly if you shoot it? It would be a good counter to the C4 + explosive barrel trick, as there is currently no way of stopping yourself from taking massive damage / insta dying if an opponent is using this trick. The carriables that aren't canisters (so things like trashcans and pots with flowers) are worthless, you have to aim well and they won't do much damage, assuming the enemy doesn't destroy it with bullets while it's flying.

I think the main issue is cheaters, Valorant cheat system automatically stops the game and everyone is put back into que and no one loses rank. If that meant I had to pay a one-time fee od $10 to get this anti-cheat that picks up something like 96% of the cheaters the first time I would pay $20 for it.

Should get faster regenration out of combat to improve their harass-playstyle.

Someone else mentioned a stimshot item which could also work out instead of changing the regen timer. Maybe even make it so you can choose to give that stim to a teammate instead of using it only on yourself.

The sniper could use some love aswell. Not too sure about in what way tho, since that could easily make it too strong. Some experimentation with firerate might be a good first step imo.

M11 is in a weird spot too, it technically is slightly stronger than the xp-45 up close but overall still significantly worse. Maybe enhance the close-range capabilities even more so there is a clear difference between the two.

Medium:
After getting resurrected by defib you should not have invulnerability.

If you get defibbed as a medium you should have your own defib go on cooldown to prevent chain defibs.

Make it so defib isnt instant but just significantly shortens the revive-time. Like a normal revive just faster. Basically the defib animation is the revive animation and you have to face the downed player trophy the whole time like you have to during a regular revive.

In addition a reduced effect for multiple healing beams on the same target would be good aswell. One beam heals for 100%, two beams would heal for more than 100% but less than 200%.

Heavy:
Make it so that you first have to reload the rpg before being able to fire it. So its not a pull it out and win any fight kind of ability.

Hammer horizontal swings should be able to hit multiple opponents. (The reverse of lights sword)

Performance:
Performance and optimization improvements are very needed aswell.

The Light is the fastest to Kill and has unlimited range on weapons, and the most movement in the game Stealth, Grappling, and dash. Can shut down all class's abilities. And stun. I have no issues with faster regen.

Lights dps on average is lower than at least the medium class by like roughly 0.2 dps. And of course nothing matches the heavyshotgun. Not sure about the dps comarison of lmgs tho.

One Defib per team would be fine, still very strong but fine. It only gets too strong once there are at least two since at that point you have all the ingredients for chain revives. Which are not balanced at all imo. And no you have invulnerability at the start of the revive, so no one can kill you before you can move.

Of course you have to reload the rpg once its fired. I mean it as in every time you pull it out, no matter if it was releoded before you have to reload it again before being able to use it. Its definitely not an elegant solution but it would let the rpg remain as it is while reducing its strength as a "whip it out mid fight and win" kind of ability. And if you preplan to use it upon entering somwhere you could always pull it out beforhand and reload it while keeping it equipped.

Melee isnt strong. You can make it work sure but it could use some adjustments. Also if two teams get wiped by a single heavy with hammer then either a lot of shots were whiffed, no one paid attention to spacing or both teams flat out ignored the heavy.

Please look at any of the community data sheets on weapon DPS or ttk. The heavy shotgun is not the highest DPS or the lowest ttk. Light tends to have one of the fastest TTKs in general.

I don't entirely understand what you're saying, but of course understand that characters with more health take longer to kill in general. Compare light medium and heavy ttk all against the same target, and you'll get a clearer picture of damage.

My point more is that after the nerfs, the heavy shotgun is worse (statistically) than other weapons.

The perception of it's strength is still around, but it's not true anymore. Also heavy's damage generally being higher isn't true either. Just trying to get people informed.

I have the TFLA0002 error for a few days.
Searched it on the google and people said that some fixes are: reseting your modem, uninstalling the game and installing it again, verifying the files etc.
None of them worked.
The last and the obvious solution was unlinking your Steam account from the embark website itself, which completely deletes your progress and creates a new account from the zero and I did it.
This, still didn't work.

But you dont fight "the same target". You fight three different classes of which two are not Light. So it makes sense to compare the ttk against those. And light flat out looses by a lot against those.
Which is fine since light has more movement options to play around with. But I dont think movement offests it completely, thats why I keep suggesting a regen timer change.

I think it should definitely be changed so in quick cash and bank it you can change your load out just like in the firing range - including what class. I will sometimes get into a quick cash and instantly leave to change loadout, when that happens someone else will join the match with a different load out anyway.

What can I say except that the game is obviously not over yet. Much too unbalanced at the class level, specifically at the heavyweight level, the weapons do absolutely no dps so the heavyweights are always safe and have much more time to react, in addition to that they are obviously the only ones to have the rpg which is the only weapon that one shot. The invisibility of featherweight is literally visible easily. The game favors objective defense far too much to the detriment of attack; there are literally no assets, no equipment designed for attack, the game rewards camping and non-skill. How is it that the weapons like the sniper and the kunai which are the hardest to master are the ones which do the least dps while the completely stupid grenade launchers and rpg one shot literally the means and the feathers? There are not enough modes and the main mode is not adapted to current equipment. What can we also say about the objectives which are in houses in the air where it is impossible even when breaking to take the point. A game that rewards non-skill too much is a shame because it has great potential.

quests to do dmg with arena carriables, to kill someone with melee, and to dmg someone while sliding are absolute DOGSHIT that makes me wanna quit this game. The registration and predictability on carriables is awful. melee punch in this game is the worst i've seen among all shooters, and the slide is so short that you can barely fit in the timing. DELETE them pls. Also quest to activate vault is cringe. if you got it you will always just be spawned 200m away and the only way to make it is to pick light with dashes and ruin the whole game for yourself just to do it.

i reckon if recon got reworked to work like a single scan that goes up for some seconds, and all your teammates can see before then going on cooldown for a bit, that would be better since it helps teammates more directly but also allows cloak to not be as hard countered by recon as it is now

currently good medium players running recon can just toggle it on and off every so often to check for cloaked players and provide their team with information

reworking it in this way (almost like bloodhound from apex legends) makes teamwork off recon easier whilst also reducing how strong it is

Let me give you a few line of check to get rid of this imediate issue:

1: Do range check vs headshot %. Abnormal numbers = insta ban.
2: Linear aim movement in combination with abnormal dmg, kills, hs %. = trigger AC check.
3: damage through shields with weapons = instant ban.
4: Abnormal reports of cheating from in game with combination of all the points above = insta ban.

Take inspiration from VALORANT on the anti cheat plx. Those devs know what they are doing. give them a call 😉

I know y'all at Embark probably don't read this, but I would highly recommend doing a short test period where you simply reduce your anticheat strictness to allow people to play on Linux.
See if there's an influx of cheaters who abuse it - if there is, then you can make a legitimate argument for the lack of linux support.

Either way, Linux support through Proton is now an industry standard. The vast majority of AAA titles and indie titles alike are supported through proton.

The Finals is the ONLY game in my steam library I can't play on Linux.
Other competitive shooters run fine - why should yours be any different?

On the whole, the game is viable. But I think there's a big problem with the poison gas.

Already I find that in many battles it can practically take the role of smoke... so maybe reduce its colour density.

Then I don't understand why it goes through walls? If it goes through gluo, why not, but a concrete wall?

Then I think the damage is still OK, even though it's slightly too high, but the biggest problem is the astronomical amount of gas cylinders on the map and around the cash. You quickly find yourself with cash in gas for the whole match.

Well, unless I'm mistaken, it is possible to detonate your own toxic mines, which I find totally bizarre given that it doesn't give you any reason to play gas grenades... and it's not even logical.

the destruction element of the game is great but gun play feels very clunky and the balancing of the game is not good like light class has a many weapons to chose from well it feels like you can only use very few on other classes or you feel like you get melted. weapons a lot of the time feel like I'm shooting marshmallows well the other teams same gun is firing a thermonuclear bombs. the game-play loop also feels very repetitive at times where its the same thing over and over again and with only 2 modes to play you can't really escape that, although i'm sure more modes will be added there should have been more modes added at launch like for instance a capture the flag game-mode or king of the hill could be extremely fun if done well. the game could also benefit from less competitive mode to just screw around in and private matches/custom game-modes would do wonders for the game. to conclude its a very fun game with so much potential and does have some issues.

i think there might be network issues in some games i've been having, in my last game i jumped on top of a slanted wall with a small space beneath it where someone was shooting me from, however once i was well and truly above that gap and at about the height of my jump, i still end up dying to the person shooting my feet.

Some of you just want to nerf heavy big time and watch him burn... because you can't play against him. Actually with AKM heavy is dying in a single clip. Heavy is dying in a single clip of XP-45, half a clip if he is stunned. What does heavy have for damage? His shield? C4 that was heavily nerfed and can't kill anything? Maybe a Light with an RPG? Oh right, that was nerfed too. Wait then we have the shotgun of the heavy... wait the shotgun was also nerfed and if you haven't noticed t he combo shotgun + shield was nerfed as well, the animation for shield was increased. So congrats all, you nerfed the heavy and buffed the little man. In constrast me seeing a Little Guy running with a shotgun getting 24 kills per round.. yes.. Heavy indeed is the problem :). Because you can counter a 1 sec DPS from outta nowhere, but god forbid is the heavy is having that 1 second DPS, everyone loses their minds.
PS: I have yet to see a heavy with 20+ kills in a game.

Guys this is a warning: at least for me in Win 11 The Finals.exe stays open if I alt-f4 not sure if regularly closing thru the menu does the same thing but you'd see alt-f4 and check steam it will say "Game open" or whatever and won't shut off. The rpg should be nerfed its way to easy to hit a light and one shot them or get a medium down to less than half health followed by like 2 shots from the lewis gun to finish them off. Both his shields makes him incredibly tanky and the guns he has are super easy to either 1 burst or beam people. This doesnt even mention c4 barrels which r incredibly unfair and take 0 skill to hit and r able to wipe a team which i have done multiple times. Im not saying that tweaking isnt needed on light and medium but I shouldnt be able to consistently get 15-20 kill rounds in ranked while not trying super hard. The lewis gun is super easy to use rpg basically guarantees a kill c4 barrels are stupidly OP and having both the dome and arm shield make heavy have dam near 2000 hp in reality the rpg should do 140 damage max the lewis gun needs harder recoil the arm shield should be taken down to around 1000 hp and c4 either should make things harder to throw or just not be able to be placed on things that you can pick up like barrels tweaks to light and medium are also needed but i havent played those classes as much

i play light most of the time and i was forced to switch to medium and even now everytime i see heavy i just run because i have a Flowerpod flying on me with double C4s that one shots me or i get RPG in my face and die
if you play light your best bet is invisibility but its useless in almost every scenario when you have to play on objective as every tick of gas or fire will imidietly reveal you and you cannot go back to invis for a while
also as light you literaly die to smoke in less than 3seconds or you are lucky if you have 10hp left

Light class should have a small rework because of there is glaring issues on both sides of playing lights and being up against lights. The issue of lights being 1 shot by basically every explosive (Edit: and get one shot by melee weapons) also several of their gadgets are not fun to be up against, The stun gun, MP5 and invisibility should get a nerf and increase the lights health just enough to where it cannot get 1 shot by explosions. The fact that light class can basically only win fights by not getting into a fight AT ALL is not fun for both sides, being up against someone who is right next to you invisible that just stun guns you and circles around you while shooting you in the head while you cannot do anything about it besides praying for the luck of hipfire to kill them is the worst thing imaginable to be up against. Even just a nerf to the invisibility would help a lot with being up against enemies because invisibility in a lot of situations is just free kills, the fact that I am below average at this game and I can pull 27 kills with light no issue with invisibility and MP5 and not even with a stun gun is not good. What I would exactly go is make it so the stun effect itself gets halfed on the stun gun because it is already really strong at the fact that you can get anyone of od the cashout box AND the player basically cannot move AND cannot aim AND cannot use a single ability and, for how long it lasts it is garenteed death no matter what class you are. The invisibility needs to be a little more noticable and/or needs to have less time on it and lastly the mp5 should just get a slight damage nerf but you don't need to do much.

Light is already the worst class for ranked. I get that people are annoyed by getting stunned and invisibility combo, but you have to give light something. You can easily get killed as a light because you only have 150 hp. In many situations where I have been stunned, I have killed light players, as well as died myself while stunning others. The stun gun is not nearly as strong as in the beta.

For invisibility I don’t see the problem as it is very easy to hear/see while they move around. You’re only hidden when you stand still. You could give it some sort of cool down that you can’t just instantly vanish every time you jump in and out battle. But that already feels like to much because the ability would be way less useful.

Maybe Bank It is bit of a light invisibility jungle but in ranked light has no place, so nerfing light wouldn’t be the easiest thing to do.

It might be the annoying class to fight against but that’s the purpose of the entire class system I believe.

china needs to be ip range banned from oce server, back in the closed beta i explained why oce needs its own server instead of having to play in asia server not only for ping reasons but also because the cheating is completely out of hand in asia server and there is zero point playing the game because of it, well the cheaters have started playing in oce server so they can cheat against non cheaters and have a huge advantage, the cheats theyre using now include triggerbot so they instantly automatically shoot the moment they can see you so the game is completely unplayable when they are in your lobby, and they have been in every single ranked tournament i have played since launch, i didnt manage to get all of the permanent cosmetics in the closed beta because every game had cheaters and now it is still the same because they have moved into oce server, so please range ban china from the oce server so we can actually get ranked games without cheaters

From my experience in developing cheats (No worries, it was long time ago. I was young, stupid and hungry.) I can say the following:
It is useless to fight with cheaters, considering that the fight has been going on for a long time and different tricky ways of loading drivers, using dma devices etc. are invented
The most effective is not to ban cheaters, but to create an ecosystem for them in which they will fight among themselves.
The distribution of players can be based on the trust factor, which will be formed from the following things: the level of the account, in-game purchases, the difference in kda between the average elo and a particular player, the frequency of reports, etc.
This is especially relevant because even after an hardware ban cheaters can spoof their hardware identifiers even for BIOS and motherboard. Using Ip bans is also bypassed and you know how.
I know that it is long path and completely get rid of cheaters is impossible and does not make financial sense, I know that anti-cheats only reduce their percentage to a certain value. But every self-respecting game company should stay at 5 percent or lower.
This is not an indication of action, just sharing my experience and hopefully only telling you what you already know 🙂

Feedback: Each class should be viable to play with whatever weapons they have - which is mostly true. However. A heavy with a sledgehammer is viable in most cases, but if the heavy is stunned, you're fucked. If the heavy has a LMG or Lewis Gun, they can fight back. Every man and his dog is running around as lights with their tasers and it becomes almost impossible to fight back, unless the light isn't using their brain and just straight out runs into the heavy with a sledge, to which they'll probably die.

Seeing the lights is difficult enough if your heads not on a swivel and you can pick up their movements whilst invisible.

Whether or not this feedback even gets consumed by the CMs and passed on to the developers - that's another question, but with the taze gun being on everyone (And by everyone, i mean a lobby full of lights) - taking the sledge isn't really viable. If I could have it my way, I'd just get rid of the taze gun, but that's just me.

Spawn calculations are complete bullshit. Scenario: We are in a 3v3 (they ran to our cashout) and the other team just finished a 3v3 on the other cashout. Both cashouts have the same time, the only problem here was that there was no spawns during cashout starting, so game think "oh no one is nearby" (I think, I don't know exactly how the spawns work) anyway, they lost the 3v3 on the other cashout and respawned on us during a 3v3. Now we're in a 6v3, other cashout is still the same timer as ours, but they have a free point. Makes the game a complete dice roll with no solid skill needed behind it, just rng 3rd party and spawns.

Only appreciated the value of pings after playing my first couple of games in tournaments. At first I'd only indicate where to go/defend but now I take the time to use "thanks" after someone revived me.

Couple of pings I wish existed:

• "Nice job!" or "GG" when you come back from respawn and your team mate has done a solid defense and didn't lose the cashout in your absence.
• "Where to?" to ask others to communicate on where they're headed, so more players in non-tournament games still get to be a bit more coordinated.

That'll hopefully be a LONG time away. Cheaters are BAD ENOUGH already. Let alone letting anymore of them in. With Linux support cheat creation/use becomes absurdly easier. Even if it only boosts cheating by a small percentage, it's too much. It's already the main thing you see in tons of places across the board. Also Linux is still at the 2-3% mark. It'll be a VERY long time before games have to really worry about losing money because of Linux users. Their market share is still nearly valueless in terms of production costs. Mac still doesn't have full support from games. That's for different reasons, but still. That's not even a focus, so I don't see Linux being a troublesome area for a long time in terms of revenue loss. Especially considering the flood gates that come with it. The problem isn't cheaters on Linux, it's CHEAT CREATION on Linux. Even if it's only 10 people doing it, they can then sell/spread the product which 1000's of people will then purchase.

Pls make the weekly quests stack and not reset every week.
This way you encourage players to still buy the battlepass even when they start in the middle of a season and give them enough time to catch up on missed xp (Just like every other battlepass).

Ranked is a little bit unfair, we play against ranked top 50 players while we are silver just because we are doing great matches.
Playing against same skill player is fine, but the issue is that we are stuck silver because we are "doing good" and playing against +100000 mmr players (checked on leaderboard) but still winning the same number of mmr.
We should be winning a lot more of mmr when winning against diamond player or at least only be able to play against player of same rank so that we are able to climb the ladder.

TL:DR: Playing too good makes you play against top 50 players while being silver, makes climbing rank impossible because mmr gain is not dependant on ennemies' rank 😦
I would be happy to play with them, but I also wan to climb to diamond before facing them 😢

That's because the devs didn't have a plan for the competitive parts. During the beta, they confirmed that they hadn't taken esport and competition into account during the game's development, and that for the moment nothing was planned for them (no pro circuit, no custom games, etc.).

ah 😕 well that is disappointing. Hopefully they implement something resembling a more standard ELO system soon. I've kind of had to stop playing ranked for the sake of my own sanity. Currently sat in gold after solo queueing for a while, playing with silvers and bronzes on my team, while being matched against players like the current #6 on the leaderboards (and his full stack of the same 2 other high ranked players that he plays with every single game on stream.) I even dropped the most frags in the lobby one of the rounds (more than him) only to be eliminated in round 3 because im essentially 1v3 vs the other teams every engagement, my teammates did not belong in that lobby, and to be honest according to my current rank by all rights neither did I.

Hyperscape style: they expect the top players to "help" (i.e. carry) the rookies. Feels absurd. Linux wont make cheating easier as the game itself runs through compatibility layer making cheat softwares harder to run. Tho it is a point that cheaters are running amok here, so the game does have a bigger problem at hand, but Linux as a platform is viable, on the rise and now a lot in numbers. We did have a long discussion on how cheating would not increase on enabling linux so not gonna reiterate that. A more competetive,popular game runs the same anti cheat and has linux support with no apparent rise in number of cheaters(if cheaters had risen then a greedy company like EA would have already backtracked. I guess this game is neither implementing EAC properly nor have completed their in-house AC. Half assing EAC made cheating easier while blocking average linux users(who are not skilled enough to implement hacks, ( steamos and steamos like los users mainly))

EAC by itself doesn't actually do much. It's surprisingly lacking and super easy to get around. Games also have in-house anti-cheat on top of EAC like EA games. Not to say EAC is useless it's just not super invasive like other anti-cheats so by nature it has less grip over the game and what you're doing.

Linux is also not as popular as you're making it out to be. The game should be in a more playable state before they even worry about a Linux port, or other platforms/OS for that matter.

Gotta do something about light being unusable and heavy being too dominant right now or you might lose a big part of your playerbase and the chance of being esport ready.

Light needs a hp buff (175 would be the sweet spot) to begin with. No need to do anything else, you'd overbuff the class and make it unfair.

Heavy needs a big time nerf. Hp is fine, shields aren't. Too much protection kills the fights. We're not playing Overwatch.

I highly doubt you'd want your game's meta to be relying on 2 mediums and one heavy for its whole life cycle tbh.
