I played a little after 2.8 update yesterday, it was no problem but today when trying to run game the Crash Report Handler pops up and I can do nothing but create memory dump.
I can't read the dump file via txt because of coding format difference

Anyone else still getting random massive FPS drops in game? Happened to me 3 times in 1 game yesterday.

Sapphire Nitro RX 5700XT

Regularly at 140+ FPS but randomly the game will tank to 10fps for 20 seconds or so stuttering my audio and screen entirely. Never had this issue in Season 1 or early Season 2.

I got 3 examples where goo no longer works when a player is in movement with grapple being the most aggregious example. It seems the patch they put out to fix people phasing through goo on platforms has broken goo tech almost entirely.

Go into your windows settings to System > Display > Graphics, then scroll down to the two programs for The Finals (Discovery.exe and THE FINALS) and change them from "High Performance" to "Power Saving." It worked for me and some other people but for another person it didn't, so good luck.

The game on the right is more extremely white. Unsure if you can see it due to discord compression, but it's extremely annoying and just white everywhere. One on the left has more yellow shading, compared to the white effects.

Put it this way. The left picture is not correct, it's like playing through a sepia tone filter and not how the game is supposed to look. It's like your peering through a smoke canister effect haze.

The right looks correct, contrast and gamma seem how they should be. You can fiddle with post-processing and colorblind settings but honestly you are trying manipulate it back to an incorrect appearance lol

screen goes entirely black for two periods right before you nade. I suspect you unfocused the window by alt-tabbing or clicking onto another screen. When that happens, your click input can go away until you hit windows key to expose the taskbar, then click the finals from taskbar to focus it back to the fore-front

You definitely had the Finals become 'un-focused' from the foreground, how it happened may not have been you giving a direct input to do so.

I've had that happen several times since I run multiple monitors, Finals becomes unfocused and suddenly I'm typing in a discord chatbox instead or clicking around spotify. There might be a bug somewhere to allows the mouse to un-hook from the game without being told

I LOVE this game but there are a TON of little tiny issues here and there which add up and detract quite harshly from the gameplay experience. Not only that, but most of these issues have been around since the Open Beta and are only getting more frustrating the longer they don't get fixed.
The performance is BAD for a competitive PVP FPS title like this. Really bad. Above all else, I hope Embark fixes this issue ASAP because holy.

Defib still consistently doesn't revive through small bits of foliage or even friendly Mesh / Shield Bubbles.

Sometimes the Healing Beam stops working and you can't use it for the rest of the match or even tournament.

The servers are STILL laggy AF at super inconvenient times resulting in bullets not hitting targets they should have, and Cashouts which were successfully stolen not actually stealing.

Vaults can BOUNCE off of Cashout Stations, even if they land squarely on a spot where it should work.

When you press a key to swap to one of your Equipment such as a grenade, it pulls it out. If you press the key again, it keeps the equipment out. That is normal. But for some reason, the Specialization like the Healing Beam swaps back and forth between your primary weapon. Why on earth are these behaviors different? It's super annoying. It could at least be a setting.

With a recent update, the match starting cutscene is a little broken. The camera follows one of your team mates instead of you now.

Voice chat has nearly no filtering at all. You can just hear your team mates TVs at full volume, and all their fan noise, and people arguing in the background.

Sometimes you don't get a Reconnect button when your game crashes in a tournament and you just have to deal with the temp ban. Which is scary because people are reporting being perma banned for that sort of thing.

Today I have had my healing beam not work four times, my game completely freeze my entire computer once, and my screen randomly go black twice. It's difficult to blame servers without some proof, packet loss and latency are usually going to be client side since embark hosts in datacenters with backbone. If you can trace route to an embark server and prove loss at hops closer to them, that would be different.

Hey I've noticed with the data shaper and I've tried this extensively with switching plants amd other in-game throwables but the data reshaper can't make glitch bombs I've noticed a pattern with it all the items switch out to the next order unless it's a chair or plant

Winning or losing a game is not what changes your rank as much as your performance vs the individual other players on the other teams. If you get carried through several matches, you won't advance much in ELO/MMR. Rank is calculated per player, not per team.

If you are losing games, you are not carrying lol. 1 step forward, 3 steps back. A loss hurts far more than gains from wins. If you actually did lose 3 and win 9, I'd expect you to not move far in either direction based on how ranking works . Additionally, it's not all about kill and combat score. If you aren't well rounded with support and objectives, you won't make many gains.

That's why I said 'one step forward, three steps back'. You take a loss, you need to win a few matches to make the points back. Two things, it's not my game... and... consider the ranking ecosystem you are in. Plat and Diamond are the top tiers, a very small percentage. It takes a consistent and continuous streak of winning to crack the higher plat and diamond tiers. I can explain how ELO works, but if ya don't want to hear it that's fine too. Just know that you need to streak some wins and make far larger gains at those higher levels than you ever would before getting there. Stupid easy to leave gold tier, not so much platinum tier -which is correct.

I think this is the biggest cause of confusion for everyone. Players seem to equate team performance as an indicator of where they should be ranked, and that's not the case at all lol. The scoreboards you posted indicate there is a definite skill gap between teammates (you got 16 kills vs 3??..) so the *individualized * ranking I keep mentioning would apply here, you would advance differently.

You have no way of knowing if that is correct, or incorrect. You cannot see your MMR/ELO rank vs that of your teammates, so comparing your progression vs theirs because you are playing together is not a good basis for pointing out a ranking flaw.

Here's the formula for ELO calculation, though Embark might be using something slightly different for variables

Stop making estimates of where you should be based on where your teammates are, that isn't a comparison. You can't see your own ELO or theirs, or know the variables that are influencing their gains vs yours. Look at your own stats, in a vacuum. Without comparing to the team, because that's how you get calculated.

Nothing is running in background that would trip it. Not the hardware having a malfunction, no overlays running, in fact with this Linux build I can strip it down virtually to safe mode of what is running and still trip this error by clicking too quickly. I can prove with multiple running input debugs that the inputs are working correctly, no 'ghost clicking' or debounce problems with the mouse or keyboard.

And I know it's exclusive to input behavior with EAC, since I haven't tripped this error in several days by playing a 'slower' build character. Secure boot is off, so that's also definitely not it.

Yeah they said as much in my support ticket, they were happy it worked but don't officially support Linux. I can play well enough around the clicking too fast issue to deal with it, but it is an issue in EAC that relates to more than just my distro. Windows users also have this problem, I just have a better means of proving the things support says are contributing are not the problem. I can prove it's not secure boot (been running for weeks without it enabled) and I can prove it's not the peripherals by demonstrating they have 1:1 perfect registration in debug. Can also prove it's no type of overlay or 3rd party app by stripping down what I have running and leaving the processes visible while playing.

And with a friend of mine the frame rate is terrible since the update. He has medium settings and a nvidia 4070 super :/

There's more going on with this friend than the Finals, I have a 3070 and pull 150-200fps consistently. He should be able to run it full tilt, max settings and not break a sweat. Might want to confirm that he isn't reaching the thermal cutoff temparature, it will reduce speed on the GPU to keep the temp in range. (core clock throttling)

Might also check that it's not a messed up tweak in the nvidia software (such as MSI afterburner, EVGA precision X1, etc) if they tinkered at all, very easy to jack the performance up.

I'm on top amd build: Radeon Rx 7900 xtx, ryzen 9 7950x3d. Latest windows 11 with latest drivers.

With this setup before today's patch I had the same pattern: after match start, I can play normally for 5-7 minutes and after that time I see sudden fps drop from 140 to 50 with W drop from 360 to 120, or even lower. This stuttering with fps drop can be during approx 5-8 seconds. After that there was always one of 2 things:

1. I can continue game with no issues or stuttering until I close the game and run it again
2. Game will not survive this "storm" and ended up with 1 of 2 possible crashes

After 6th June patch I'm unable to reproduce the crashes (thanks for that), but this fps drop and stuttering in the beginning of 1st match is still there.
Because of extended timing and pretty hard hanging "storm" this is a critical issue for a competitive game and quite strange to have on a top "red" build.

P.S. interesting observation: if you run the game and join the match that almost finished (let's say 4 minutes before the end) - you can overcome this and your next matches will work issued until you close the game and run it again.

As I can't post in bug reports thread I really hope that this post will not be lost.
I love this game and it's really a shame that I see it on my new PC just with Finals. No such experience with any other game I tried.

Bros queueing solo and complaining about disconnects. There's very active LFG channels IN THE DISCORD HE IS CURRENTLY COMPLAINING IN. I have 400 hours and in that time, I've had the gun no shooty bug like 30ish times, which sucks, but it's fixed after a quick death. I've had cashbox stuck in ground once, and never had a totem stuck anywhere I couldn't reach (that wasn't destructible). I'm certain this game isn't easy to make, there's a reason devs don't attempt destruction in games, it's a lot easier said than done.

sandstorm on vegas, the devs failed to realize that the collision properties of the sand covering the ground in most places on the map were solid to players, but in many spots not solid to totems or cash boxes. as for the LFG channel, 90% of the people in here are incredibly toxic and i dont have time to LFG every night when i get home from work and only have an hour or two to play. as for "a quick death fixing the gun bug", in ranked a quick death very often leads to a loss or at least a huge disadvantage, which can be devastating in the finals of a tourney. ive been reporting these bugs since closed beta. on top of all this, when you get into a ranked match with no team mates, you still earn a ban for leaving even though youre the only one on the team, so im meant to suffer for 12-15 minutes alone getting absolutely shit on by stacked diamond teams with no hope of getting anything done other than getting pissed off. i am now on a ban because i finally got fed up enough to just leave a 1v3v3v3 to spare my sanity instead of sticking it out and getting shit on anyways. you can say skill issue all you want, but as a closed beta and dedicated player since its first release, i can assure you, the issue is not my skill, its the devs work ethic and care for the community and health of their game.

a games value and worth shouldnt be dictated by a need for the players to jump through hoops to enjoy it, it is the devs responsibility if they want it to be a good game to make sure the players remain PLAYERS and not manufacturers of their own experience. this isnt adobe studio, im not organizing and illustrating an animation, im the viewer of the video

I've never encountered anything falling through the map on Sandstorm on vegas. That's also a map variation you'll encounter 1/20 games you play at most. I'm not denying that it's shitty and needs to be fixed, but it's not that big a deal.

99% of the people in the LFG are chill and friendly, I've encountered one toxic player in all my time, and maybe 5 players that are full of themselves (but to be fair they were much better than me, so like I get being pissed off). It takes 5-10 mins to find a team that you'll play with for the 1-2 hours that you're on. That worth the time investment. If one death causes you to lose, then there's something else wrong. I end up in the finals with max coins every game I play. A coin is just a quick 25 second reset in case I'm bugged out at this point. You're doing something very wrong if your team can't stop for 30 seconds while you suicide and respawn.

I do agree that if your team disconnects, you still losing rank and getting banned is incredibly unfair, that's undeniable, but even when I solo queue for funsies, I have a disconnect one in 30 games.

The devs are working hard on a brand new season coming out in a week, any bug that comes up is fixed within 24 hours, their work ethic is to be celebrated in the current gaming environment. You wishing this game to shut down, and saying "fuck you players" is the most toxic I've seen anyone acting in this discord. I'm telling you bro, go in the LFG, it'll fix all your problems.

I have been playing since the betas and have collected a lot of items/exclusives and spent a fair bit of money on this game since then now we get to the ranked (the bug).. my account has been plat 1 for the entire season basically and i have not moved after countless wins and late nights which my two friends i play with had reached diamond 4.,Then a few days later we join up another party with a different friend, plat4 and plays solo. We had managed to get him up to diamond in a night of playing… still my account has no diamond??. So i decided to test things by creating a new account and starting from no rank. Played the long 60 rounds or whatever finally got to ranked and after two days i and got it to diamond 3 and top 3,000 yet my account wont move out of 20,000s… what is wrong with this system? I wanted to reach diamond for my main guns camo (the fcar) and yet probably wont be able to because of this.

If I rejoin, and boost myself through dubious means, I can rank well past this by gaming the system. What you have on your original account is more accurate, taking stats from more games. Your second account got boosted, that's the only reason it got out of plat. Short version is more games played-more accuracy in the ranking because data points. If the accuracy is what you disagree with, more consistent wins are needed.

Does anyone know how the support stat affect the rank gain/loss. I play with my friend who pretty much only plays medium with a healing beam, he often gets 5-10k support score at the end of tournaments. I play heavy with a shield and usually get in between 3-8k support per tournament. I frequently drop 20-30 kills a tournament, yet when we lose I go down 200ish points in the leaderboard while my medium friend only goes down 30-50. Moreover we are at a point where if we dont make the final round I always get 3 arrows down, no matter the performance. While my friend doesnt lose ANY significant amount of rating, I play russian roulette where each ranked tournament can send me down the ladder. We perform similarly in most stats except the healing part( which is part of support statline yet somehow gives him an advantage over my shielding?????). Finally he is top 600, while I have been dropping all the way down to top 2000. How is it possible that I am lower than him in the leaderboards yet I lose more rating while performing similarly. Idk what to do, because unless we either win the tournament or lose the finals I lose rating. It is incredibly tilting and unrewarding. Does healing make THAT much of a difference in the deciding factor of losing/gaining elo?

I can't put image here but this issue has been here since launch. This game still doesn't have full resolution support for 16:10 screen. Choosing 2560x1600 on a 2560x1600 screen is still stretched. For example the holosight on scar appears to be a vertical oval shape, and same with people in game, they are slimmer than they should be. Choosing different resolution does not solve the problem either. My only way out of this is to either change my PC's resolution or play on window mode.

Same. I was going to play the game this morning when I saw it was bugged so I didn't log in. After seeing it was fixed I logged in only for my circuit to bug too.... I only had one more mission I already almost completed 😭 I should've just done this yesterday dammit. My circuit is now still entirely reset and if it doesn't fix soon I just won't be able to get my reward. And even if it does 'fix' there's a chance there will be even more missions I have to do besides just the last one

I've had some circuits restored, but some have been fully reset. To be precise, the mission content has changed, not reset. For example, the "5 Round Play" mission you completed has been changed to "Steal the safe 10 times" and I've never done a mission like this, so it's not counted. Do I have to clear all the reset circuits to complete all the circuits and earn AK rewards?

The announcement said that reset circuits do not have to be cleared again. However, some circuits were not only reset, but were also replaced with completely new missions. What should I do? Do I clear this to get my final reward...?

Yeah for the deal damage to buildings using arena carriables I didn’t even realize that throwing red canisters at buildings didn’t work at all, so after a few hours of having no progress being made I found out that the fire canisters where the only/main thing that worked.

You might have 19 incomplete, but look at your AK in the masters circuit and see how many that needs you to complete.

You do not need to recomplete every contract for the AK if that's the only reward you are missing, only the contracts in Masters

Once your account is "fixed" you will need to look at the masters circuit, and see if you can complete the contracts or not. If you have wound up in a state where you can not achieve the AK due to the issue, you need to contact support.

The main issue with this response on the bug fix is that you arent compensating people in anyway. They spent time already completing circuits. They are spending time trying to fix the bug and time they already spent. Your fix is making them spend more time as progression with each challenge unfinished is reset. This is going to leave a sour taste in peoples mouths going forward. Unsure if you considered player loss due to this vs having more players play for greater time before season 3. I feel like this is going to hurt your numbers as well as credibility going forward. Just my opinion though. Thank you for the updates Oscar.

I'm confused— I had completed the Challenger circuit and got the Ospuze body paint, but now it says 24/28.

I still have the body paint which is fine, but how does that work for the other two circuits that were nearly done and are now both around 16/28? So is that number accurate?

I don't remember where they were at yesterday but I'm pretty sure I was closer than that.

But then I restarted the game again and it changed again. Right now my challenges are the ones that took me a week in the first place but it's reset to 0 of course. It would take a couple hours but it's not impossible I guess...

Im pretty sure Oscar doesnt have the pull to make the decisions. But if Emark truly cared about our time spent they would just gift it out to everyone and apologize for the bug. depends. Not all are reset, only some... Unfortunately I went from only needing 1 mission that was almost completed, to needing 7 that are at 0 😭 . Any of the circuits you've already completed, you won't have to redo. The rewards stay. However, if you have no progress at all, it might've not been fixed for you yet.

It does suck that it reset some challenges but Embark have literally said if it’s not possible to complete contact them and they will help figure it out. It gives some people a bit more xp to gather and doesn’t just feed everyone free skins you have to work for.

This is such a poor statement because people did put the work in and lost their progress. So why are you talking about feeding everyone free skins as if everyone didn't just lose the progress they put in? Giving people free cosmetics that didn't cost any money says "hey we made a mistake that we'll do our best not to make again, we'll do better next season". Making your players happy isn't bad.
