Can we please select our prefered server? There are 48 countries in Asia and I dont wanna play with 120 ping when I'm playing from India and connects me to korean servers. Aside from blatant cheaters, I feel like Ranked queues are so broken... Like you dont even get to play with people with your ranks.... You guys should MINIMIZE the range of ranks when queueing ranked.. Like me as a Gold player literally playing with Silver 4 (which is above surface of bronze)... I've never queued up with Gold teammates in my life... There's literally no room for solo play in this game... Either you get blatant cheaters or brain ded teammates who you cant even communicate because of a langauge barrier and no team chat...

when you modify peripherals it makes it so any game limitations are still kept in tact. If a player spammed 100 clicks per second (cps) and the client's game limited packets to 20 cps then nothing can be detected, but if the anti-cheat tried detecting that as an attempt to cheat, it could hurt legitimate players (some minecraft players who use drag click got kicked by the anticheat, proving that theory). The way to validate that is through what gets sent to the server while having limits on the client, if the client sends more than what the server is given as a limit then its possible they're cheating.

It gets even harder with aimbot. There's no concrete way to detect if someone aimbots. You could check if they shoot the forehead every time, but what stops the cheater from randomizing the shot a little? If they use software it might be easier to detect, but if they used modded hardware, then who's to say they're cheating? We can't know for sure because all the input the client sees comes directly from the mouse, all you can do is trust it.

There is a bug with thermal vision on las vegas where it will sometimes just make your whole screen black making you blind while it's active. I'm not sure how to recreate it as it seems random, but when it does happen this will happen for the whole match. This makes the thermal vision for that match ineffective.

Hey, dunno if this is just a ME thing. But I queued for tournament for about 23 seconds. Cancelled, queued for quick play cash out, played the game. Then got hit with a 5 minute ban for leaving a tournament game. I'm not worried about the temp ban for myself, but if a game did actually start without a 3rd player just because i cancelled the queue, thats a little problematic.

It's seems to me that as the game is free for all so, they are not minding to fix the login issues and other major issues. So, they are fixing mostly in-game bugs instead so, all those players who are playing are happy. As from the server point of view as long as less players are able to login it will minimize their server load. After all since the game is free so, they also thinks who cares. I hope most of the people who downloaded this game days or months ago and not even able to play once will definitely understand and agree with me. If this game would have been a paid version then I'm sure there wouldn't be any bugs in first place, if it would be there they will fix it not in days but in 24 hrs.

So, whatever, I shared in this post hasn't been wrong after all. If this isn't true then someone from Embark team would definitely replied to my post to defend or would share some approx. time frame when this login issue would be fixed. So, I would say, it's no point of keeping the game installed in system and waiting for it to fix some days or months or years and to play it once. It's better to play Call of Duty (COD) on phones which is free too and doesn't have any such major bugs. I don't even remember they even had any major bugs when they released the game in the first place apart from players kicking out of match automatically but that's too very rare and mostly happens due to poor internet connection nothing else which too fixed long back.

Also, I will put a detail review of my experience on Steam too so other people get to know before they even attempt to download this game.

What is happening? Position calculation for respawn bugs out and ignores enemy positions. This ends in being spawned (NOT REVIVED) at a position with a 5 meter distance to an enemy. This happened now 4 times already.
What should be happening? Calculation should grab areas which do not contain any enemies and are not reachable by enemies in the next 5 seconds.

Update: For context, my headset is connected to my controller, which is connected to my PC while I play with mouse and keyboard only. Additionally if you use a smoke and invisibility and infrared on the light enemies do not show up as white targets but instead black targets completely wasting the infrared ability. What is happening? I get kicked/leave the Party after every match without fail. No problems joining a party, rejoining, joining a match ect. but i have to be reinvited to the party after every match and the host gets a notification i left the party a few minutes into every match.

I got into a match where at 12 minutes one cashout and the only vault wouldn't spawn, we were left with a single cashout and no way to activate it for twelve minutes, the remainder of the match. I stayed throughout the whole thing just to see what would happen and yeah, it just never fixed itself. Not sure how it happened but this is the first time I encountered it.

I so far encountered a one time bug in quick cash out. The only vault got stuck under the map. The game ran until the timer completed with the vault still stuck under the map.
Map was Monaco the version with jump pads between chasms.

Maybe add a vault respawn if a player hasn't interacted in x time?

Not sure if it’s considered a bug but the game should alert you if there’s a needed update and it’s running. I tried to get into a match several times and got a matchmaking error, restarted the game and it updated. I left it open last night apparently. Call of duty for example forces you to restart the game when an update is pushed and you have the game open. Just a thought.

I just discovered an annoying bug with "key bindings" in the settings: So i try to bind 2 keys to one action (for example whenever i play light with dash i like to have my dash on a mouse side button, but then for everything else i would use Q for specialization). So i would set both Q and the mouse side button to specialization and then whenever i got into a match again it would just remove the first key thats bound to it(Q). It would also reset anything else ive done in the "key bindings" settings alongside it.

I've had a new bug : i was playing Medium with scar and i started to reload. During my reload animation i switched to a mine and tryed to throw it but i couldnt, my left click wasnt working, so i switched to my launchpad and the same thing occured : i couldnt click. I switched back to my scar and it reloaded automatically but still i couldnt shoot. I tryed switching through all my inventory and every time i switched back to my scar it was reloading once more even tho it was full. I then died and respawned with my team and the bug was still there. I died once more and a teammate revived me THEN i could fire again. Hi, I've been playing The Finals recently with some friends and having a blast, however I'm starting to use primarily Linux as my daily operating system for many reasons, Linux ended up being a better operating system for myself. I'd like to still be able to play The Finals with my friends, but it doesn't run on Linux. I've looked into why The Finals won't run on Linux and the main reason seems to be Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC), see the protondb page - https://www.protondb.com/app/2073850. I believe Easy Anti-Cheat works on Linux as other games like Hunt Showdown, and VRChat use EAC and do work on Linux (through proton), and Epic announced Linux compatibility for EAC a few years ago https://dev.epicgames.com/en-US/news/epic-online-services-launches-anti-cheat-support-for-linux-mac-and-steam-deck. From what I read online enabling EAC support for Linux should be a fairly easy process, and doing so would bring in thousands of new users who are interested in joining The Finals.

What is happening?
After the first cash out no other objective spawned in the map. Was like that for a while and people seem to have the same bug since everyone was acting like they do not know what to do next, teams together yes but no one was going to any place.

1 sec before we have lost we got like 800k a won, then server pops up an error message. I think I was playing with a cheater (we were only two in our team). After the match I report him, games are not fun for anyone if there are cheaters there.

I stole the first cash out, then the bar keep yellow when it already finished. After a lot of deaths the game got fixed magically.

@scarlet charm not sure about your hit registration thing, but i do know that there will be coin bursts regardless of the damage as long as you hit them (This also applies to teammates)

@nimble grove I experienced that too, and it is really weird, but if it happens after ending a match, it should go away if you enter some submenus (for example by editing a contestant, that one worked for me)

I understand this game is still in the earlier stages but please make the game playable for the very least. As of today 12/15/23 The Finals is pretty much unplayable. You have trouble joining games and when you do join a game there is a high probability of getting kicked out of the match after (or before) the first match has been finished. When you do get a good match there is another glitch/bug that ruins your day. Simply leaving a match can get you a time out for a variable amount of time. This has been my experience so far in ranked tournaments. Please address these issues, if not your game might actually end up loosing all the traction it has gained.

aha, here it is. Ok, so, I have had two games now that claimed i left the match early when i didn't leave early or crash out and load back in. The first ban was 30 seconds for me and 30 minutes for my buddy i was playing with at the time. This time i was banned for 40 minutes. After the first ban i had logged off and played an entirely different game and wasn't on for roughly 2 hours. Came back and played a tournament game with my son and got banned again.

There was a bug with damage falloff for both of light's SMGs where they seemingly had no falloff at any range. The M11 also did significantly more damage than it should (people noticed it doing around 23 damage a shot, more than the mp5 which is supposed to have more damage), and the AKM also occasionally dealt 25 or 30 damage instead of the 20.

All of this has been fixed as of this patch today (and revolver damage falloff has gotten worse), what changed that would cause these things? Were these changes intentional, was the original state of these weapons somehow intentional? None of this was noted in the patch notes so I'm really confused.

I am unable to log in to the website with my account. When playing with an Xbox controller on PC I can press "Y" (the default input to switch to the weapon) to cancel a reload, but on mouse and keyboard pressing the weapon input during a reload doesn't do anything, which makes it super awkward to be stuck reloading when an enemy pops out.

You can switch to an equipment or melee to cancel the reload but meleeing takes a lot of time and sometimes you don't have any equipment available. It would feel a lot better if we could cancel the reload by simply pressing the weapon keybind, like you can on controller.

The bug appears to be some kind of glitch or cheat on the Shock and Awe in this instance, at the end they go from $7664 with 10k in a pending cashout, immediately to $227,664 + a 10000 pending cashout.

This is almost certainly a cheat now that I am watching the footage.

After that we disconnected and had to wait a while for the game to let us keep playing. If we decided to "leave game" even though we couldn't rejoin (it'd just disconnect again) we would get a timeout for leaving a ranked tournament AND we'd lose some game points

It has happened to me twice now "IN RANKED" where a team that gets a cashout has just has it the entire time, the cashout never finishes it just sits there yellow and vanishes from the map leaving no new vault to pop up after they would have normally finished the cashout. So idk if this is a bug or a hack but I just finished a tournament game and the very first game a team ended up with over $300k and the server crashed, I have a screen shot of the ending but sadly I couldn’t get a capture of it since my game crashed shortly after

Clipping on some rooftops (under the edges) on maps like monoco can make grappling up very difficult and confusing to new players.

if anyone is having trouble getting into game with a friend getting the "xxx cancelled matchmaking", DONT start queue again. If you wait, the play button will switch to reconnect eventually and you can join the game. Workaround for now, at least is working for my friends

how it happend: Rejoin a tournement match after error kick.
use coin to respawn cuz character throphy never spawned.
play as usual
after death, change kit see medium loadout (standard that you get on first launch)
after death revert to default heavy loadout, including contestant cosmetics

The bug is joining a game with no other players on your team.
joining a casual (even a ranked) tournament game and having 0 teammates also shouldn't penalise you for leaving...

While searching for a ranked match party leader canceled search. Party leader searched again and our party wound up getting an error. After the error we all had the ability to reconnect. Upon reconnecting we were split between me in a ranked match as 1 playing against 3 teams and them as a duo on a separate map playing against 3 teams. We played the match out and all have received ranked matchmaking bans

TFMR0100 getting this bug trying to play with my 2 friends who just got the game and finished the tutorial. We are trying to play quick cash and we have so far been able to play 2 matches but in between both matches we had a lot of trouble just trying to matchmake with the error TFMR0100 or it just being cancled and saying one of us did it.

Joining in a party then pressing play. Only one person sometimes or two people are able to get into the game then we try to leave our match cause not all 3 of us are in there. Then we get a penalty for leaving the game even though it didn't even get all team players in the match.

Tried to play a ranked tournament in a full party, which resulted in an error when connecting. Our party stayed at the lobby screen while a ranked game started without us. After changing from the main screen and returning to it the options to reconnect and leave game appeared. We were able to reconnect to the ranked tournament that started without us and we played it through, after which all three of us received a ban from all matchmaking for leaving a game.

I just got done with a tournament game where one of the enemy teams was either cheating or there was a bug in the game. They were constantly getting 10k through out the game and by the end of the first round they ended up with over 300k. And then the game kicked my team and I out and now we have a 10 minute penalty. 🙂👍. Nice. Lol
