they sucked before because they were hard as shit to use.
Now they are immensley easy to use.
but the damage buff was not needed.
Look at the KS23, it fucking sucks STILL, and that gun has actual damage fall off, knives don't.

and the ks23 reloads. knives don't.
Now the gun is a tiny bit easier to use, but it lost 10 damage.
Knives are now easier to use by miles, and gained damage.
Light is getting love and adjustments. he's been nerfed 1 time. and that was the broken as shit op tazer. which still works just fine.
Medium has had 2 gadgets stolen from him, and many weapons adjusted.
Heavy has been nerfed almost every patch with 0 buffs.
Light is not this Pathetic class people assume. He's just got a higher skill ceiling with 200% reward per risk.

I have the rank I want/wanted and pubs is full of TK (I play destruction heavy) so they kinda shit on me with my KS-23 medium has never been my class and light I could either use the tk again or go back to my old classic shotgun

aps nerf was a god send, and i main meads and heavy. it was not fun having to run aps to deny every projectile in the game, now theres some brainpower u have to use for it to be effective. aps needs a turning and activation buff but needs a higher cooldown and less dmg. and throwing knives need to be reverted back to the state when they did 60 dmg

the turret has like no damage. all it does is cover. if you work with it, it's strong.
But currently it is countered by walking in a circle around it, or jumping over it.
the turret should be able to track whoever it's shooting without losing them. That's all it needs. not a damage or a health buff, but the fact it can lose it's target by walking around it is just goofy.

It's all perspective, all of this is, what's objective is how counters work, and light has very few other than his low health, which is accounted for through movement and his small frame.

it's actually very easy to counter the turret in all forms of positioning, the best way to give it free range is to place it in completely crazy positions, like syshorizon on the wall in the green building up near the ceiling.

Grenade launcher should deal equal dmg to the user if they’re shooting point blank or too close to themselves. Drags absolutely need an indicator so there is outplay potential. I would love to see for L: Kriss Vector, or MP7, for M: a AR-50 Beowulf or some sort of DMR with a 4x ACOG, and for H: a Deagle or .50cal Singleshot sniper. (Yes i Dont like melees)
This is a really good idea. I was trying to think of a handgun or marksman rifle for heavy but didn't really have any ideas. I can only imagine the nightmares that would come from balancing them though, because accuracy isn't really how the heavy plays. DMR for medium is a good idea too, but I don't think we need to see more smgs or burst weapons for light.
two of those were my suggestions, (sort of, not sure if the idea was originally mine) and personally, I think the kriss vector should be akimbo, similar to the ones in Advanced Warfare

Heavy even conceptually doesn't fit any precision options. The best he got is the shotgun and while I think it could do with a little boost the build should not get any new weapons like that, especially long ranged ones

I think as is, mostly the rpg needs to take a hit. After the APS nerf the shields/barricades stacking doesn't feel nearly as oppressive, the existence of glitch barrels means you don't have to rely on your light to turn them off all the time too and knives where amazing against shields even before the buff since they have an infinite clip and high dps. Since you can now actually kill with them they are a viable option in other circumstances too.
Now it is just the rpg that is left feeling too strong and would like something to be done between its overlap with the c4 alongside a buff to the latter, probably decreasing the activation time to 1 second or even 0.5 and it would be at least usable for something else than making holes, which heavy has an abundance of.
As for the RPG I would still just move it to the specialization slot and see how it works out there, since that slot is more valuable than just a gadget slot and we would probably not see literally all the heavies running it.

Apparently dual katana has a small lunge, can deflect, and fast autos. Basically a better sword overall. But it prob wont outshadow sword since light still has the lunge-dash combo that medium cant replicate

Anyone else struggling with understanding the balancing right now? Light characters aren't viable except for throwing knives and sniper, which are both just awful to deal with. In 5v5, you end up having a sniper across the map shooting you the entire time, and some random dude with knives finishes you off. Constant instant death.

There are two flavors of sniper gameplay, and one is the most skillful thing you can do as a light. XP is a spray weapon that has no recoil, that thing is no skill at all and thats why most lights use it lol. But a lot of them switched to throwing knives because that shit has becomes EVEN EASIER than the XP because at least the XP has to reload.
(I am not saying light needs nerfs, but don't be crazy thinking that the XP is a 'skilled' weapon when it isn't, the only thing skillful about it is that you're playing light in the first place)

TK is not easy, and being spammed to death is just some rare circumstances I feel like, it's the trade off of unlimited ammo vs range and accuracy

Yeah close range is brutal, the counterplay is to actually move away and dodge while killing them.
To the general conversation: Knives are fine, lights have a lot of weapons with a shittons of dps and knives don't even have the higest of them. I usually see lights in quick cash with 12-17 kills I imagine they get more on bank it since that gamemode is structured more around killing people so @runic thunder your numbers of 15 kills isn't really that impressive.
I also don't see nearly as much knives as I see snipers when it comes to the less popular light weapons and snipers also dominate noobs, even harder most likely coz you don't even see where the damage is coming from

First thing that came to mind with the new breaching thing was Ash's gadget from R6 so a grenade that burrows into walls and makes a hole, but deals like 40 damage to people

Especially because the defensive stance feels like something that would go on cooldown and some indicator would be nice for it. Implementing both a defensive stance and a lunge attack also requires some shenenigans with buttons but I can see a few ways they could make it work without restrictions as such.

Well if you design a gamemode where surviving is king and didn't account for the gadget that could nearly one shot Mediums by simply being in their LOS; I think we have a problem lol.
anything that isn't tracking dart, flashbangs or thermal vision, tho smokes and scans might get some getting used to in order to get the same kind of value out of them as with the other gadgets

I hope the new chain has a very fast cooldown if at all cause its mostly gonna be paired with the new spear weapon. And cuz its close range there won't be alot of defense form long range attacks like mesh or just run away with charge or get cover with goo. So I just hope the cooldown time is veryy little or not at all to compensate

If youre doing good lmao, theres no “good” build, just meta build that everyone uses, but if something like the thermal is useful for you and you benefit from it, then its a good build

Any of the grenades, sonar is pretty helpful in a building fight, portal is good if you know how to use it

Yep, most use case is when unlocking a vault, put a portal on top of it while its counting down and run to the nearest cashout, put a portal there and the box will just teleport through the portal
Grenades/RPGs/Throwables also go through the portal btw

I figured it out, either it doesnt track on the power shift gamemode, or it doesnt count when you are trackign the challenge. Im doing bank it with untracked challenge now and it works.

But ok look we play sword, and i would assume you guy also pair it with dash. It would mean that the heaviest have a hard chance hitting us unless if we are running in a straight line, or the whole entire hook as a hitbox, making it so that the moment any part of the hook touches us we are pulled in, which wouldn’t be ideal. Im also curious about if we can crouch and slide under the hook to dodge it
that would be cool to slide under it but we'll see how generous the hurtbox is on that hook

I think it is fine, heavy should be powerful up close it is the tools he has at range that are a problem right now.
If I remember right roadhog had a 12 sec cd on his hook way back when in overwatch so I think a little more than that would be ideal for this game, especially since you are trading charge'n'slam or mesh shield for it.

The longer you charge, the more the damage, but in close range you dont get that chance
im more interested in what a low charge arrow does
If the bow does REASONABLE damage to the body with a higher headshot multiplier then that's fine

if I had to guess, since the sniper does 115 the arrows would probably go from around 55 to 110 with the headshot multiplayer being 2x
maybe from somewhere lower like 40 dmg even, but that might be too low
hopefully the nature of the bow doesn't push too much against the mobile burst nature of the light
sounds like minimal bow pull melee is gonna be a potential combo
I would also imagine the arrow damage scales and is not just minimum damage at no charge and maximum damage at max charge and usually with things like that arrows are released at some charge so the listed minimal damage might be lower than factual one
and obviously it should have lower damage than the sniper, because it is "just" a bow, but I imagine it will have a much higher shooting speed with taps and probably no magazine either so no reloads/reload animation after every shot

it will be different for sure but it will be a sidegrade. Trading in some survivability for more damage and some movement. Personally I also expect the reflect will be a cooldown thing, but we will see when they release it
