Have you tried moving before throwing the second one? Light has the best movement in the game. You can easily move a great distance before placing the second Gateway. It's not meant for your own traversal but for the team's.

Yes, it's meant for traversal, what do you want me to say..? It's obviously not going to deal damage - that's up for you to decide whether you want to focus on offense or movement. Ziplines/Jump Pads are also for traversal, but the tradeoff is that they aren't instant.
Give it a chance and I'm sure you'll figure out its use eventually.

1/3 of the hits are heard but don’t register, 1/3 miss entirely, and 1/3 actually hit. NOT TO MENTION I currate an entire server called TKC which stands for Throwing Knife Central.
