One thing that annoys me with games sometimes is that they always try to pull something new even if the consumers won't like it (this isn't even touching on mtx or live service). Xdef hype is indicative of those who want the classic CoD experience, even as it understandably has a large group of naysayers at the same time

I'm salty I was born too late to experience the peak of deathmatch shooters personally, and almost none of the big titles, without compromises anyway, wants to fill the void once filled up by like Quake, Unreal and Halo when people were previously big on them.

barely anyone does deathmatch shooters because there is basically no real playerbase that would be interested in it for the long term

splitgate may be the only exception, to this day it has a pretty decent playerbase and right now they're apparently making a sequel but apart from that - every deathmatch shooter flopped or died extremely fast, because nobody wants to or is interested in playing games like that anymore, games have evolved significantly and DM shooters are a thing of a very distant past

garou and saitama are very short ranged characters that requires skill like good side dashing and catching

unlike the other characters like genos, sonic, tatsumaki and partically metal bat and atomic samurai

they are very long ranged you can spam your abilities then run away till you regen them
