Personally when it comes to "perma death" I like the middle ground.
I don't like BR (even tho I've spent a lot of time on it in the past), because I don't feel like I am progressing anything. It's just the same thing repeating over and over again, from zero to hero to zero again.
I am also not much into a classic PvP survival games, because it punishes you for every single minute you are not currently playing. You might spend hundreds of hours in that only to lose it all over night.

However I love the way Tarkov does it. You have your secured stash, hideout, passive skills, levels, story / quest progression and nobody can take it from you.
You adventure into a raids and the only thing you are risking is whatever you've decided to take with you. However as easy it is to lose it, it's also equally as easy to earn it back again.
And on top of that, you can always run some raids without risking anything of yours.
It's a great combination of risk / reward system with intense atmosphere. You decide how much you want to focus on PvPvE, the game doesn't heavily penalizes you for not playing for a while and you can keep progressing even when you doesn't always survive.

true, but CS formula is extremely refined to near perfection, it is fun to play AND to watch and you can honestly never predict how the match will go and yes, same thing goes for pubg but the difference is that BRs in their entierity aren't a refined idea, they had its time but now is slowly starting to die out because players are simply bored of this gameplay style. Plus CS matches tend to keep you focused where as in BRs you might spend 20min running around and get sniped across the map which ain't fun at all.

CS is simple to understand and extremely hard to master which requires practice on training ranges or by simply playing the game, BRs however are more dependent on luck in every aspect - what loot you get, what players join, what are you gonna find, where will the circle be ect.

lots of people had a lot of good ideas for custom modes and stuff and that all got cut off until recently and now its run by pubg instead of people and its way too late

they now add the occasional new mode, but the damage is done cause the game is dead and any people who still play the game just want to sweat it out in the BR mode

like they added a mode where the zone moved constantly with someone who had the beacon/orb and you had to drive cars and only fight out of cars to win the game, which was a community idea since like early 2018, but of course they wait till the game is dead to add it because it took them that long to realize maybe the community is better at being creative than they are

and the mode was so fun it got my friends who quit the game in 2019 to play again, but the mode died in 3 days because nobody fucking plays the game in NA

and its barely any different in any other region besides asia, where it is still mostly dead. its peak region averages like 60k players and the game averages like 100k concurrent worldwide, which is terrible for a BR and especially terrible considering in 2017/2018 it was averaging a million+ concurrent for months

all because they waited to start taking ideas from the community and creating different modes until it was too late

so i hope krafton and bluehole tank and the shareholders and executives lose their livelihoods 😂

There's also an entry about ArcCorp actually having nature still, however it's almost non existant now, in the concept art this planet actually was supposed to have dedicated agrocultural zones but ingame, at least for now, you cant find them anywhere
