I have a feeling that Arc will have more innovative gameplay, but I do like the style of Marathon, likely third person vs first person so I will probably play both.. assuming its free2play because I am not going to pay for a bungie game knowing how bad the monetization is on Destiny.

i think both games will be great, but i love marathon style and design, it's like first time ever i see smth like that in gaming, although i believe in ARC for really talented folks from Embark, I'm 100% sure they gonna make a great game, that's how Battlefield 4 hooked me for countless night hours of play

I was eating so good at this showcase, Marathon reboot, Final Fantasy XVI trailer, Granblue Relink, Dragon's Dogma 2, Alan Wake 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake. This might be the best showcase I have seen in years.

How about the beholder fights especially the Bitter Black one where it just poisons the entire ground floor. That thing was a pawn blender for me because they would fall down, start to bleed out, but then the poison would flood and I just have to sit there on the steps and watch as the rift claims them again lmao.

The final boss of BBI put me in my place so hard I put the controller down and never picked it back up lol. I went right away after beating the game the first time with all my NG+ gear and got slapped once I made it to him.

This announcement makes me want to go back and try again, but there is also a private server for Dragon's Dogma Online opening up tomorrow that I want to try now with the DD2 hype flowing in my veins.

My only problem with the mage is then I don't get to climb all over the monsters lol

No greater thrill than clinging to a griffon for dear life as it flies you well into instant death heights slashing at it's wings praying to god you make it plummet and hold on through out the crash.

My favorite bit about being a sorcerer was flying for a couple meters all the time, missed it as an archer lol

Also, more games need drip like Dragon's Dogma (in fact the system we see in THE FINALS lovingly reminds me of that one)

YES! God the armor in the game is so good. The amount of times I would ignore higher stats just to get that fine drip.

Especially the clothes > armor

Being separate things made it so fun to combine

I had a very classy tiny green-themed elf Arisen, haha

In many ways it was a simple-looking game, but the amount of body types/sliders and then rigging clothes to that was impressive

I went full in on the knight dream by the end but started as the light wirey archer.

I especially loved that your body type modified gameplay! Being heavier let you hold larger enemies down longer, being short let you climb through small holes. Lighter characters took less fall damage.

So neat for little usually only cosmetic systems like that to lend into the gameplay.

I must say I agree with you. The artistic choices from the game look astonishing. I do wonder how the gunplay will feel though. If it will be more reminiscent of like destiny or halo, or feel like something entirely new.

But considering that it’s Bungie whom are behind that game, I think that the gun play is probably the least of our worries.

Compared to past Macs its basically no competition; the M1 Pro that i was testing easily outpaced the max-spec Mac Pro (yes, the cheese grater). It also feels generally faster, quieter and more energy efficient than basically every other laptop i’ve ever used. Also the decision to start porting AAA titles to M1+ feels a bit weird, while the CPU is fantastic, the graphics processing power of the SOC is still pretty bad (kind of a trait Macs have had for multiple years now)

The M1 iPads on the other hand are an absolute joke. There’s absolutely no way that an operating system that works on the same chips that power 2017 iPhones can actually put any strain on the new SOC

Yeah the M1 iMacs and Macbooks are great productivity wise.

Does that mean they’re bad value? No. Hell, I own one. The M-series iPads have just started production a little over 2 years ago, and Apple has already begun working on some big changes built specifically for the new hardware (Stage Manager, external displays, FCP and LP for iPad)

@tepid hatch I have played 2042 for 450 hours by now since Season 1.
The game as a whole is a really great game with lots of action and impressive mechanics for what it is.
The Finals has many of the same elements but one key difference is the type of gameplay you get. The Finals is much more focused on destruction within small scale team battles. On the other end 2042 includes more actual warfare content including vehicles, larger encounters, and bigger maps.

Season 5 of 2042 seams to be the best so far, after watching a lot of gameplay i can fairly say this new map is the best in the game, new guns feel great, portal weapons attachments and finally vehicles getting a balance and hourglass getting reworked, definitely worth a try for anyone who hated it before (i would also buy it or get it from game pass)

ok.. very controversial take here but i think its really annoying how much UI elements some games have when a huge part of their game is "immersion" and general visuals/graphics of the game

i understand that UI is there to give you hints and information about a game, but i think there should be a certain line where you as a player are expected to learn about the game rather than being spoonfed a lot of the information

i think the things that actually matter and make sense are ofc the objective markers (not the 'retake' part), the distance, compass, and ammo count. i feel like what gadgets you have and what gun you hold is not necessary to be there for the entirety of the game, and i really wish they had a 'visible only when changed gun' type of feature. the hints can be disabled i think so thats fine. the killfeed is also optional so thats fine. the objective sliders/points is ofc necessary but (controversial take) i think minimaps should be removed from the game and the big map should be used instead. i think people rely way too much on minimaps and it just takes away the surprise elements sometimes because if an enemy is spotted, you just know what to expect.

i really appreciate the maps and guns dice has made for 2042, but i just really despise the UI aspect of the game a lot, i think it feels very out of place and in my face which sucks because i really enjoy most of 2042 but the UI
