Hello! We spoke in the finals chat. We talked about coding and how I'm a CS student. I'm still very junior-level, but I just finished my semester and my OOP class with an A.

I tried practicing some of the things I learned in an Unreal Engine C++ project, and I got thrown off right away because I'm not used to UE's reliance on macros (at least I think that's the main hiccup). Creating or messing with basic classes kept causing frequent crashes.

So my question is, in a professional setting, is the typical Unreal Engine workflow to set up core classes in Visual Studio, and then manipulate those classes (actors) in Blueprints afterward? I can drag and manipulate assets in the engine just fine, but I was really trying to do as much as possible from the coding side to force myself to grow.

Hope that's a quick one, I don't want to hit you with tutorial-level stuff or take up too much of your time. I am very thankful for any guidance.

Quick update: this Winter I'm taking PHP and web server classes, then Spring is pure C++ Programming with lab and Advanced Programming with lab. My degree emphasis is in C++. & then if this degree doesn't work out irl, I will side pivot to robotics courses which blend with any cpp classes I have taken

you could do a two point perspective or 3 point if you want to draw from a very specific view

just draw a horizontal (horizon) line and put a dot on which points you want it to end in. and a third dot in between of where you want to be standing

ez (the two dots need to be on the horizon) then draw a vertical line up to the middle dot and draw diagonal lines to connect everything and then you have a frame :)

That really depends a lot on the situation in the studio. E33 seems to be made more or less entirely in blueprint, others do everything in c++.
We use the angelscript fork by hazelight, which is sort of a hybrid. Generally we create components or new types of actors in either c++ or angelscript and then we configure them in blueprints and spawn or place them in levels. We try to avoid having logic in bps as that is slow and cumbersome and tends to introduce tech debt.
And the "flavour" of c++ in unreal takes some time to get used to, I wouldn't recommend it for learning or training c++...
Better pick some smaller engine for that

This mousepad is godhood. It's like aiming on butter. It's fast than the otsu but easier to stop than the otsu. This mousepad puts you in almost complete control of your mouse movements and it doesn't have a slick glide like the otsu does where the mouse feels like it just wants to keep going. If you stop your mouse, it'll stop, if you move your mouse it'll move. Micro adjustments are basically effortless. I've been hitting so many "how did I do that" shots and for the first time in years I'm impressing myself with my aim again. If you have the experience and mouse control it's as if your hand eye coordination is in complete sync with zero delay. Like i'm aiming with my eyes, not my mouse. This pad for sure has a higher skill floor than any of the other pads mentioned (minus the otsu maybe because I genuinely was not aiming my best with it lol) but in turn it raises the skill ceiling so much

Is why I bought the raiden XL mid. I've had it for a while now. It won't stay at that exact level obviously with use but I love it. For Reflex/CPMA in particular I was really impressed

Yeah, it blows my mind as well. I wonder how many of those are actually PS5 folks, since a mic is built into every single controller. I generally assume many of those are kids, since I know plenty of parents who let 'em play, but not talk to randoms. But still, it is kind of mind blowing how many are silent. if you're serious about your health, you should take it seriously.

multiple things could cause it. bad sleeping schedule is one. if you aren't already going to sleep on time (10-11pm at latest, or 12pm if you're young and are staying up late), you should really try to go on time + keep it up. it must become part of your daily routine to go to sleep and wake up at the same time [everyday]
