basically, the easiest way to explain it is there’s a few different weapon trees. invest in strength to have big weapons that have high damage but a large windup. dexterity is for your smaller fast hitting weapons with lower damage, and then intelligence, faith, and arcane all do different spell trees. generally, pick one stat type that you like the most and run with it. basically, pick two stats that go with what kind of weapon you want to focus on, but pick one that will be dominant. the way i did it was 2 strength, 1 dex, 1 vigor, and then 1 endurance

in ds and elden ring, there’s basically an equilibrium between skill and power of the character. elden ring is amazing because unlike darksouls, it rarely screws you over because of jank and oversights. in elden ring, also, there’s also plateaus in the areas that you’re in. a lot of the time, killing a boss/es will unlock more lower tier guys to fight that will give more runes. it’s going to be very obvious if you’re over leveled because the low tier enemies will be dropping pennies when you need bills

yeah, definitely get to 25-30 to actually beat him. there’s some dungeons you can do with stonesword keys that will give you ample runes and items. besides building, always make sure you’re on medium to light and are using as much possible defense without going to heavy

Elden Ring has the most Farming (where you gotta repeat areas to gain souls to level) out of any Soulslike I have played, as well as the largest skill gap, (where from 1 area to the next it seemed to need a much higher level). While a great game, it is not the most forgiving in those regards to new comers to the genre. Sekiro does it better with a much more linear progression system that doesn't leave you over or under powered in any area the entire way through as it ties progressing in strength to cleared areas/bosses defeated. Conversely, Lies of P offers a much more normal Souls like progression system and keeps you from needing to farm any Souls as long as you don't lose too many of them while keeping the game linear but feeling Open, and is a much better start fir a new Souls like player than the overcomplicated Elden Ring. However, it is important to note that ANY souls like game can be completed at level 1 with the most basic equipment as long as the player has the patience to learn from their repeated deaths.

I beat them at 15, but if you are having difficulty, you can do some exploring and come back to it at 20. It is important to note that Margit is the easiest boss, and doesn't pose a big stat check, but rather it's checking how well you have the fundamentals down. Or you could just live die repeat until you learn his attack patterns and can beat him in your sleep. That's how it goes with alot of Boss' in souls games
