Since Embark is made up of mostly of the old DICE guys, how about in the future you guys make your own take on a game like Mirror's Edge?
I'm not talking about the copy but rather a completely new idea executed in the right way. A well designed and truly free open world with countless paths to take all set inside a dystopian and unnaturally "clean" city.

I still like probably many other people think that ME ip is really underrated and couldn't reach it's full potential due to technical or time limitations, so why not try this again with what current technology can offer? UE5 demo proved that a big and highly detailed world is 100% possible, doing a parkour movement is a formality and the only thing that would be left to worry about is the creation of the world itself, story and how to put everything together so the game won't be a set of monotonous "run from point a to point b" missions like Catalyst.

The single idea of "no path would be the best one but every path is the right one" could add up to the gameplay a lot, no bs time limitations and you actually could be rewarded more for doing stunts and taking longer and harder paths.

I'm experimenting with dialogue and formatting, and need someone to help me decide between two styles.

The man scowled at his employer.

He clutched his iron plank and removed it from its scabbard. 

“Dead or alive, your head is worth more than anything you own, so I suggest you cut your losses and give me what I’m owed.”```

Basically, the first version is organized so that dialogue is only coupled with additives: “Minotaur, Minotaur,” she said with a smile.

While the second is more traditional.

Normally I write with huge paragraphs that are hyper-descriptive, but I'm trying out more vague and reader-interpretive stuff.

I would say this really depends on the medium. The first one is more legible and fits more in an interactive story or a comic/visual medium script, the latter one is more coherent for a book, I'd say

I'm biased because I have trouble parsing long paragraphs, haha

A big thing is that I'm experimenting with narration.

From atop the automaton, a lone man stared into the overcasted sky, his eyes squinted and charcoal hair frayed. He knew that something had gone awry, but also had a hunch on where to look.

I would be concerned that if you had more characters in the story, the first version could get confusing, as in you'd have to keep naming the character who is speaking.

I'm writing the narrator as if he's an old dude reading through pages directly to the viewer, as opposed to a traditional narrator.
