What should I be doing in solo queue to be helpful to my teammates who know what's going on, and what should I do to be productive in matches where it seems like my teammates are just as clueless as I am?

I am playing as a light these first few matches but to be honest, not really sure how I should be adjusting my play style based on weather I am a L,M or H in solo queue either. This game seems like a blast but I don't even know where to start

The spawns are often unfair and far for teams attacking the point. Too open on top of the roofs so it just results in sustain fights that eventually lead into pad pushes which are unbalanced especially when the team had two heavies firing their RPGs. Cashouts rarely have floors bellow them so u can't stall much with C4. And the bamboo is annoying.

Goo/launch pad/defibs/healing beam is probably the best, gives you more rotations, gives you something to evade fights with, gives mobility to you and your team, you can manipulate cashbox locations with goo/launchpad, if you want to drop cashbox below or get highground through breaking ceilings/floors then you can find explosive barrels on the map or utilize teams kits (heavy rpg/c4) (light c4)

What I am also seeing is that a big chunk of how I get killed is one of 3 ways: Light Flanking me when I am low, stuck between staying outside of a POI or needing to face a 2v1, or heavy being deceptively tanky

Try goo. Not only can you angle jump pad to close gap very fast, but you can set your own goo on fire which has been huge.

Can also throw it to make a wall so you can close gap outdoors too. It's a godsend

As much as the general gaming community hates on SBMM, as someone who's over level 100 in The Finals, I should never be paired up against/with someone who just started playing.

If I were a newcomer to The Finals, I would absolutely never take the time to learn how to play when everyone has been sweating since they started in S1.
I don't expect anyone to agree, but SBMM might have it's pro sides too.

For some people, sure.

I like holo because the zoom is good for the range I want ot use it in, there's less visible jiggle, and the mid-point is smaller for better head acquisition. It's all just preference at the end of the day
