imo the ABMM is a good idea, but very badly implemented
I haven't played the game after it was added because... well, my limited attention got stolen by other games and things at the time

but the issue about ABMM is that the reason people originally decided to be friendly was so they could minimize the amount of PvP-caused loot loss and help each other for a communal good

when the game puts you in lobbies that are either PvP or PvE... the whole dynamic of the PvPvE gets ruined

The thing with a lot of terraria, modded or not, is there are so many rare drops that you either farm for or struggle for but in reality they aren’t that important. And there are so many qol mods that it’s really easy to to get into, Fargos mod already adds items that let you skip building arenas and housing and just place them, but they’re undercoated and simple

Ok trust me when I say this, early game is a little slow but once you get past the first 2 or 3 bosses it’s fun, early games are always slow just look at any open world game, but there are a lot of ways to just pass early game or just make it a bit easier or funner, and once you get past like mid hardmode the basic enemies just become fodder and grinding is essentially gone it’s jus boss fights in end game

Well if you don’t like bossfights it’s not the game for you, I only have 3 mods that add bosses, one only adds 3 btw, and there are 65 total bosses and a boatload of lore and gameplay to get to them, and I’m doing a no hit run and no hitting even early game bosses which are less bullet hellish than late game, (endgame bosses are pure bullet hells) and it took me 90 attempts for the first boss which would’ve been like 3 without no hitting it

yep it's a forced mechanic that you cant turn off, it's most affected with melee weapons that have a long windup like sledgehammer

it acts like a magnet where you are only allowed to move where the game decides

aka backwards or off the map if the enemy uses a world jump pad or there's multiple players around you

it also messes you up if the enemy player is high ping or has a high velocity because the autowalk target is actually not the freaking enemy

and the worst part is you cant fucking turn it off

Good point but have you seen that the finals is less popular and has worse balance controversies, being unique is a good thing but not all concepts go far because they’re more niche, I’m not saying the finals is built on a bad concept but it’s definitely not the one that most people like. Genres and categories get popular because that’s what people like, or more like what the minority of chronically online sweats like, this is just a niche game and will have a tougher time balancing bc of the way it’s structured and we can’t do anything about it

Most guns can’t be balanced bc of the role they serve, the repeater for example is either meta or trash bc it has such a specific fire rate, if it has 1 too much or little damage than that changes the ttk on heavies vastly but changing the fire rate to slower or faster could better fit it in between the two possible ttks, same for bfr it just has a specific rpm that’s either optimal or bad depending on the damage

i SWEAR the game adds extra bloom per match the higher your k/d imbalance is. i go 22/3 one match then 2/9 the next, and my shots feel just off

point break definitely made me better at positioning and assessing enemy locations, at first i was getting churned up due to there being more people in a game (vs powershift), but that just made me better, now powershift seems like a ghost-town, hard to even play it
