Each "rank" has its own meta.

When youre in bronze, you can play funky loadouts that throws new players off, stuff like flamethrower, dagger, cl40.. most newbs dont know how to face them.

Same can be said for silver.

Then in gold is when you start picking weapons that are just fast ttk due to golds arent running healing, nor know how to play for their life, you can just gun em down.

Then plat+ is when you can start optimizing your gadgets to match, where you can start to follow the meta to stay consistent where players are being more consistent.
