Kirby Air Ride & Kirby Air Riders equivalent of Mario Kart Battle Mode, basically
4 or 16 players (depending on old or new iteration of the game) start on a floating island city, with the most basic machine (rideable vehicle) and no stats
you are given 5 minutes of time to find a good machine and a bunch of items (that appear as, I am not kidding, PNGs) that give you stat upgrades or attack powers, like more gliding, top speed, better turning, higher health, being able to attack enemies etc etc
after 5 minutes, everyone is called to take part in a Stadium event; here you participate in a minigame, in Air Ride there's one random Stadium, in Riders there's 4 to choose from, and people are split between them however they choose
Stadiums can range from "ride the fastest straight forward" to "glide and hit targets" all the way to "gobble as many food items as you can in the time limit", whoever wins, well, wins
the 5 minute field period also has Field Events, like sudden bossfights, short races, or everyone starting to spin erratically, all of which allow new ways to get items
it's a very hectic but fun mode, and I guess a gameplay loop like that could work as a THE FINALS LTM
