Movement option that makes it possible to play from different angles and escape on a class with no other escape options other than goo (Also heal beam has recently found its way into the meta alongside demat)

And the class with the most health getting a button that cancels reloads, can cause a death in less than .2s, has inconsistent and unintuitive max range, can go through walls, and has a hitbox that lasts forever

Honestly as it is now (after the changes), demat is fine strength wise. It could use some very minor buffs to it's ready/stow speed for QOL reasons (idk it feels a little clunky sometimes) but the two charges and the animation are exactly where the specialisation needs to be imo.

it can also get stuck on random shit so players approaching a winch usually hold a canister or a prop to counter it

I said what I said and meant above. Dash needs tweaks, especially for how it takes away many downsides of short range weapons by allowing haphazard dashing in random directions, or in the case of the melee weapons, sort of neuters the one drawback they come with. But without dash, some of those weapons suffer.

With dash, certain weapons work funkily, but without them, people say they’d be bad. So, tweak dash and then compensate for it by making the weapons that suffer from it better, so dash holds less of a monopoly, and those weapons can have an identity separate from the dash spec.

The only weapons that do rely on dash are melee, the rest are all only using it because cloak got gutted. While it does make sense to make the weapons themselves less reliant on dash (like sword with lungehopping, even if sword got neutered for it), its still very hard to add more self sufficiency to other options like dagger by design. Nerfing dash makes no sense when it doesn't need a nerf, so the only point that does make sense it to make melee more self sufficient, which is something else entirely

Sniper and bow can kinda use dash pretty well even before cloak gutting (they also use grapple decent) but they don't rely on it like melee

Idk, I still think dash should have a little bit of a nerf. I’ve been playing a lot of light recently and it just feels way too easy to rush in like a bozo, dash in random directions twice while lasering people who can’t predict the movements that I plan out, and then dashing away, just feels… too efficient? I think all it really needs is a brief, fraction of a second delay on firing when you use the dash, similar to the delay between dashing twice in a row.

I just think letting someone dart in circles while they know where they’re gonna go, thus allowing them to shoot and dodge at the same time, gives a very tiny advantage that saves mine and others’ asses just a little bit too well in the TTK game

You're making it seem like its extremely hard to track dashes, which it isnt. Most of the time the person dashing will need to make more of an adjustment to their camera, but thats offset by them knowing they're going to dash beforehand, so it ends up equaling out anyways. Dash doesn't need any changes at all

I’m not saying it’s hard to track dashes, I’m saying it’s unpredictable in the truest sense of the word. You can only prevent it, or react to it. It’s an active ability that both saves you HP and dishes out damage, and for close range weapons, that screws with a lot of breakpoints and creates unpredictable outcomes to fights where sometimes it feels up to luck if someone manages to dodge a couple bullets by spamming, or vice versa.

Its not luck if you miss your shots. It doesn't dish out damage, since your accuracy is diminished while dashing. It doesn't screw with breakpoints in any way since there is no direct damage mitigation, and there is nothing that is up to luck since dodging bullets means the enemy missed, which is a mistake on their part.

Like I said, I think its not far from being balanced better, but I do still feel iffy about letting people dash in any direction on demand 3 times and shoot at the same time, since again, it creates inconsistent results to fights purely bc of the simultaneous stuff goin on.

Making it stagger your firing for what is essentially the duration of pressing Q, would just make things a teeny bit more consistent and back-and-forth, which in my eyes, makes fights feel more constructive.

The only part I can kinda see would be up to luck is a dash v. Dash fight where whoever lands more lucky shots mid dash, but that can also be mitigated by playing smart and aiming instead of spamming dashes.

Recoil make bullet go up and sideways, if you move the mouse quickly it will "smooth out" the vertical recoil so its only the left and right if you can keep it up. So you strafe or move fast in other ways to reduce the recoil. Same applies if the target is moving fast instead, since its based on how quick the mouse is moving left and right, that lets you continue to use recoil smoothing to its fullest as well. (centering works too so moving back and forth while keeping aim on a target will reduce recoil also)

Dash circumvents many or all of the downsides of Light’s close range and melee weapons, meaning that while a player using for instance, Dagger, TK, or M11 with Cloak or Grapple has to play more conventionally around their weapon’s drawbacks, Dash players get the benefit of being able to use the dash to reach, and prolong their time in, a sweet spot where they’re difficult to track, and their range/dispersion is negligible.

In this sweet spot, the handfuls of bullets that hit them between their several dashes can create very iffy and unpredictable results to fights, which can often come down to if the player guesses or flicks the right way the Dash user ends up choosing to go, and if they end up hitting them enough, which can be inconsistent since they can dash anytime they want, all while they can be more consistently returning damage since they’re in control.

This, when spammed, makes for very finnicky situations where sometimes you have a guy spinning around trying to swat the fly that’s kamikazeing him, and the results come down to whoever has more convenient reloads or more consistent windows of opportunity to deal damage. I don’t think that’s very constructive gameplay for the dash user, nor the person theyre fighting.

Yes. Aim better. Git gud. All that. But alls I’m suggesting is a small, fraction of a second delay on attacking while dashing, so they’re less incentivized to bumrush and spam at point blank for “lucky” kills, and more incentivized to use the dash for positioning, maneuvering, and/or retreating

The whole aim of this is to not really affect smart/thoughtful players. Only to discourage a really janky inconsistency of close range that makes certain weapons’ downsides trivial and thus wonky.
