exactly, the issue with the emerald grind is the point system, when you can get more points for winning, EVERYONE WANTS TO WIN, which makes it hyper competitive just so ppl could save their time
the points for winning should be awarded for staying in the game longer, because, well, by qualifying, your match is suddenly 30 minutes instead of 10 minutes, instead of outright being skilled and winning

so if you spend 10 minutes, you get 10 points
20 minutes (second match)
you get 22 points
and
for the final round, you get 33-36 points
that still gives incentive to win, while also just making it so the mode as a whole is far less punishing for those with less time
plus, better players stay in matches longer, while lower skilled players get queued with people that want to enjoy the time they have to play the game
