Do you guys spend your tomestones of allegory on anything specific? ^^" i've been capped at 2k for a while I'm thinking I should be spending them... not sure what though
if you don't need gear, can just use allegory to buy crafting materials to sell
the ones that cost 20 allegory per are generally decent sellers with spirit extract being the most common since its needed for pots
rn i use mine to grab cheapo 520 gear
Ah, for sure thank you!!
In terms of DPS/Mitigation for tanks
ranksS?
DPS -> War/GNB/PLD/DRK?
Mitigation?
interesting
some people complain that DRK and WAR feel too similar
since all the tanks need to have the same baseline stuff to do all the content equally
PLD doesnt even use cover
bc everyone just tank swaps instead
There is a “ranking” of tank damage but it’s such a minimal difference between the 4 that it really doesn’t matter
My cotank WAR consistently out damages me even though I’m pld. Most of it is player skill
Small point: having a load of idiots in PF means it will be a pain. If someone dies at certain points it might even be irrecoverable
If everyone can vaguely think though then yeah it’s decently simple
uhhh, any way of getting gear thats not doing weekly lockout for tomes? bec i wanna join actual extreme/savage content but everyone needs 515ilvl or higher. sadly im 512 but nobody is really doing old content to gear up so it feels like im forced to get 515 before anything
Upgrade i510 crafted gear to i520
wait thats possible with exarchic gear?
Ye
Ye
The counter between all the crafting stuff and materia melders, forgot the npc name
And do be careful about picking gear pieces, it's easy to mess up
uhhh im just wondering how to get these
Crystalline rain you buy from that npc
And certificates you also get from that npc by trading in exarchic gear
1 HQ piece will be enough to trade for the corresponding i520 piece
I wrote this for my fc
might be helpful for you too
👍
For DPS -> GNB > PLD = WAR > DRK
For Mitigation -> PLD = WAR > DRK = GNB.
Dmg does depend on the fight for PLD and WAR. Some fights WAR outdamages PLD but iirc most fights PLD slightly outdamages WAR.
After patch 5.5 WAR definitely does more damage.
- rdps sucks for tanks
- there isn't a sample of good players after 5.5
war gets a slight buff, but it's still worse than pld, and by proxy, drk
I mean aDPS is the same.
WAR is not worse in terms of damage. They also have good alignment for fights like E11S which can help them even out damage PLD.
Good players still play the game. Sadly no Ultimate to keep others though. :c
max dps on drk being 1k down from .4 to .5 isnt representative of the job’s full potential
in 11s
That's fair. That's a good point.
That's a shame then. Judging by that even with the potency buffs DRK would still be above WAR.
If scaled from 5.4
I'm interested in how they optimized. Probably gonna go see if those logs are still up. Might be able to steal some tech.
a lot of it just happens to be good alignment with minute burst and being able to dump damage into it
dark knight has BW and edge dumping that lend itself to having extra damage during things like trick/tech/div
all war has is maybe 1-2 inner chaos inside each trick window
and a couple cleaves
That makes sense. Having a 60sec, 90sec and 120sec, does help hit within raid buffs.
People really out there acting like WAR buffs are what made DRK suddenly do less aDPS than PLD
top e9s drk right now is just monke brain hit edge whenever he feels like it
this is what playing drk correctly looks like
Why are they so different
I'm on xivanalysis for Nirvana and I get what you mean.
One is hitting it within raid buffs
Because the top guy doesn't know what he's doing
I'm so confused. How come the top. E9s gets away with playing so badly?
Because this
My brain is smol. I see numbers but I. Don't understand what I'm looking for/at contextually.
crit/dh rates
For reference, DRK bis puts you around 27.5% crit rate and 14% DH rate
You should be a bit higher especially on edge because crit buffs
ofc he didn't really care about using edge in raidbuffs
But yeah the drks might not be sending their best right now
That's wild. This explains quite a bit actually.
I feel so misinformed about this class.
He has perfect killtime and perfect comp
And insane RNG
e10s is same deal, some guy with perfect comp/killtime and good rng pressing edge randomly
:^)
Not even doing the proper buff alignment for that killtime
8:30 and they just use stuff on cd then hold the last set
When doing reprog on a different class, is the priority still the same? Mechs> damage?
I feel a bit conflicted with this in that if I already know the fight, but am essentially just translating what I know onto a new class, wouldn't it make logical sense to try get comfortable in trying to dish out the damage?
Idk if I'm explaining this right.
But I'm reprogging on black mage, and I have an understanding of the basic fundamentals of the class. But in regards to how I use my tools to maintain uptime (and enochian) I'm at a bit of a loss. I understand how to resolve mechs in the savage tier I am reprogging already, it's just a matter of learning how to tie in consistency with output.
This came out a bit more convoluted than I intended.
Optimizing your damage and the mechs go hand in hand.. you got the mechs down so just need to plan your stuff (for blm just movement spells and leylines)
Those things have already been optimized too so you would study it like you would for your main job
I would say knowing the mechs is the biggest part
Like...don't die?
That makes sense. I understand where I need to drop leylines, but I guess I haven't progged 9 enough yet to where I can say x will be up at y mech.
So overall it's just a practice and consistency thing?
Idk dying is easy when you try new things
And yeah adapting your new job to the mechs and maximising dps are basically the same endeavour
Or when you get killed. :)
I do a looot of alt job trapping in uwu and it usually boils down to the same process which might not actually be helpful
Which is: I know the mechanics but not my rotation
I do the "basic" rotation and see if things fit nicely or are close to fitting
Yea thats pretty much it
Like on BLM if I do standard opener I notice I have a ton of mana left when plumes spawn, and I dump with flare
So I change to no B4 opener and that makes me waste less
I cleared on astro first.
If I don't have triplecast for a mechanic I'd like to have it on, I think about when I last used it and see if I can push things around and get better uptime without holding it too much
So thankfully it's not terrible.
True
Ideally you have a handle on when burst windows and such are happening, though that's less relevant with blm than pretty much anything else
And that makes sense, cats.
I think I just struggle with being more open to the idea that I have more options available to me than I realize.
Like say for brambles, if be mid cast when they'd drop and it was either drop enochian or delay the cast. Both kind of suck as far as options go.
Didn't even think to weave using the thunder proc into swift >wherever I am in the rotation.
Yeah I think of it, like, try to be cognizant if you're slipping into a local minima re: optimization
if that makes sense
Yeah.
Its a bit rough because I'll have act on and see I'm basically capped out at 16-17k dps and I know that's terrible.
you've also got a gear deficit ofc and blm is pretty deep even at the surface level
and you'll be more or less innately suited to various jobs
How do you mean more innately suited?
In my uwu adventures I'm noticing quite a big difference in how well I perform on different jobs
And a lot of them are jobs I don't have a history of really playing
I got pretty good numbers on my first clears as sam or nin, but I had to try multiple times to get out of grey on smn or mnk
you can argue that 70 nin is pretty easy, but like it's not that much easier than 70 mnk
Ah I see. That makes sense.
With blm I feel kind of back and forth in how well I play it.
Sometimes it feels very comfy other times I'm struggling to do even basic mechs
tfw everything lines up perfectly and you try to remember how that happened
Yes. Exactly.
Watch vods to deal with specific mechs / movements that youre unsure of
And apply them slowly, pick up small things that could become good habits
Then itll become easier to adjust rotations and further optimize
Just gotta find some. Decent vods.
Yea, i mean i do the same for my main all the time, vods/ fflogs replays (super good)
is advanced relativity a forced downtime for melee?
ahhhh never noticed that lol
is it bad if both drk and gnb are the tanks for uwu/tea? or it doesnt matter?
shouldn't matter
alrigh thanks!
In e9s, what's the difference between Rin and Happy Brambles?
Does Rin gets more Uptime during AA?
Rin brambles make maneuvering around the phasers easier, and the towers kind of spooky
I see, Static is gonna fresh prog e9s today. I wonder if I should let them do Rin or Happy
Happy is slightly easier I think...?
Yeah, and my Aether PF all does Happy
though it's not a big difference either way
prolly do happy then
just don't do mith :^)
I think Happy is also slightly safer?
As in, if you forget knockback, you can usually run back as Happy.
In Rin, the father players gets knock off, and the closer player gets knocked into the other player, causing confusion
In Happy you just run back then do Just Adjust magic
yea
You can probably set up a rin pf and people will join.
Yeah, probably
for raw emotion step of new relic, do the dungeons have to be synced or can they be unsynced?
has to be synced
How do people usually do e9s brambles when parsing for high deeps?
Do they do Rin Brambles?
Square looks mighty comf
Square is really good for speeds/parse runs because it's a given that the tanks are doing uptime shenanigans
so one of them can just go over to the side with all the garbage on it
cuz it's not like they need to maneuver
@subtle bone mada mada, do you dance the smn or the melee in TEA
Ive only done it with 1 group soo reprog
In my old one i got danced till P3
partnering the smn until p3 seems fine
i would dance the smn the entire way but yea if you want.. can swap during inception
i would decide based on whos the best dps in your team tho
melees being preferred
do you guys have a graphic for triple apoc?
I got uhhh
Hi idk where else to ask this, on E9S when you’re first assigned your clock positions, do those positions change in relation to the room if the boss is flipped after a phaser attack? Basically, do positions always correlate to the boss? I play healer and was with the other healer during a spread and got kicked, not sure if I did it wrong
Well after the wide angle phaser attack the boss was pulled back to the middle but she was flipped from how she was at the start of the fight. I play a healer and I stayed on my original clock position in relation to the room, so unfortunately for her spread beam attack I ended up with the other healer and we both got one shot, I wasn’t able to ask if I did it wrong
i see, its assumed to do boss relative (north is where the boss is facing)
you did true north (using north of area)
weird that they kicked you for that unless it was said in the pf description or in chat
anyway, get used to doing boss relative
NOOO
? what happened
it will be exceptionally difficult to craft the 4star master recipes
without a good meldset on your crafter gear
that said, it might be arguably better to just buy it off the market board now
cop a bunch of cheap pieces to trade in for the augmented versions
could someone explain the shadow servant part of e10s?
it's the same thing the boss does where the shadow indicates the angle of the mechanic, except it's centered on players instead of the boss
the way that helped me process the mechanic best
was to rotate the camera, so that it was behind the shadow
and then i would go left or right based on the direction the boss was cleaving
i used to think about it like "right cleave -> face the boss and have the shadow 'arrow' point right"
yah thats the same idea just described another way
If multiple people mess up yes. Nowadays 1 or 2 is survivable with gear but you get damage downs
Part of the learning process
ok
so the simplest way is
if right giga, then stand in clockwise and left giga then stand in anticlockwise
When do i pop potion of strength in PLD rotation?
https://i.imgur.com/1jlrnNN.png pop it at similar points like in the opener
when the '2 chest' e12s group doesnt have a duty complete tag
up there with clear for a friend - i'm the friend
2 chest groups don't need to have cleared before
I'm getting so jaded with the lions memes that I'm not even having fun anymore
Can you do e8s knock back mirrors without knock back immunity?
Theoretically?
I was thinking about the question, that if there is any mechanic in the game currently that just CANNOT be cleared without using Knockback Immunity
yes you can do the mechanic correctly
you would first dodge the actual wave coming from shiva
then move in on the arena
and go closer to the mirror that goes off first
tank A at the front
and tehn swap for the other mirror
knockback immunity strat was figured out around 4th week
everyone else before that cleared it without knowing that
if you use KB too early for shiva u go to the middle and get knocked around so u dont fall off and die
Even early on you'd still use kb immunity (mostly for casters/healers so you can stay cozy in mid) but it took a bit for people to start resolving it fully at the edge with everyone using kb immunity instead of running to mid to resolve it
So how would one build a machines?
i dont understand your question
usually happens on x.58, which is slated for july/august
but it might happen on 5.57, which is slated for june/july
hi. does anyone have UWU waymarks?
Yeah I think there is just no more 5.56?
its not entirely consistent in this regards. arr had .55, .56 and .57. heavensward had .55 broken into 2 patches, with .56 and .57 and stormblood had .55, .56, .57 and .58
probably not getting a .56 with shadowbringers
I see
hihi, i just got a set of Exarchic for my ast. is there a site that i can look at for materia to use?

As much as we want to send people to the balance it should be said that we have all the tools to sort out the information here at their disposal.
joining balance is also good for the future though
thank you. I'm returninng after a year and i forgot what the balance is. Iw as kinda hoping for somerhing quick and simple because my elbow feels like it's been crushed and i cant focus long enough to read through the mountain of info over on the balance

Hi everyone, I am a new players accustomed to mmorpg especially HL content, so I was wondering what was the hardest of the current instances and starting from the beginning how much time it takes to hope to participate without being a weight for his teammates
Hardest content to date are Ultimates, second is the current Savage tier
Ultimates you have to be level 70/80 and typically need a static (who also typically want to know you're capable, so usually want savage logs)
Savage tier is level 80 and requires completion of the normal raids, then unlocking savage and getting enough gear to meet min ilvl requirement
This can be cleared in pf or with a static
Thx dude 🙂
Both require a good understanding of your job and its role. Thats the gist of it mostly
And np
yeah if i coming on FFXIV it is because my friend talk me so much about boss mechanics
i know before hl i go learn lot of things about jobs and strats ....
Thats good yea
Obviously you dont need to know everything from step 1 but making an effort to learn and reading your skills carefully and stuff is good habits
Same
I'm not discouraging joining the balance. But sometimes it's difficult to digest what they're trying to say. And, for simple, easy to answers, why put them elsewhere? Seems kind of lazy, to me.
then there is a feast awaiting you at endgame
These words fill me with happiness 😂
I think the issue with the balance is its all using savage and ultimates for reference, so until you've reached endgame content, just stick to the rotation guides and ignore the chat outside of specific questions you have
i agree at some points balance is lazy when it comes to answer specific stuff
like im not gonna read job guide just to figure out that its better to delay a 3 mins buff for 1 min at say E10S to align it with others buffs
and thats just an example
I doubt that if you ask that, that people wouldn't give you an answer on it
if it's more generic stuff that's easily explained in the guide, like base rotation kind of things, etc then sure you might get linked towards the guide instead
but more specific things like that people are pretty willing to help more directly on haha
(and even for simple stuff, in a lot of channels people will still answer you and then link to the guide as well)
since im bad, most of my questions are if i die and certain things wer just popped, whats my best course of action to get back on track. heaven forbid if you die after using tech step and before devilment and they desync XD
i dont do savage so there typically isn't a log besides me looking at how bad i am XD
death will kill your parse
no matter where it happens
but some points are worse than others
I don't think they're concerned about a parse or anything
but more about like, how to pick back up and get in the rhythm of things
i died like the last 6 seconds of an encounter, lost all 3 sen as a samurai, xivanalysis yelling at me for wasting sen XD granted i lost a midare but
and yeah, i'm more thinking clear, i know i won't parse well XD
i have terrible uptime having to resolve mechanics
practice makes perfect!
for that step 1 is try to get back to track is
let cds come back up
and redo the opener
and work from there
mmm, kinda. It depends
especially when you're looking at raid buffs, sometimes even if you get screwed up from death, getting even misaligned uses can be more worthwhile than missing uses just to get back to proper alignment
most of the time i'll just have used something and tunneled and missed a big attack, hence why i'll ask such specific scenarios
so it can be a minute or two before a proper opener/reopener
depending on class
and typically in non-high end you aren't getting half the raid buffs you usually would, or they arent aligned
nah. perfect practice makes perfect. i tend to die from tunneling most XD
does diamond weapon in his weapon form still require positionals?
my friend swear he does

hey does someone knows if the complete edition will update when endwaker is launched?
it won't be retroactive, but yes complete edition will include endwalker when it releases
your current complete edition would not, you would have to buy EW
but any completes bought after release will have it yes
ok thanks
probably 5.57 in june/july 5.58 in july/august
Gl dude
When opening fete presents, will it not give you, for example a peacelovers coffer, if you already have one in your inventory?
The item is not marked as unique, so you can have multiple at once.
hey guys just did my first night of tea reprog
tanking hard

my brain too small
well, least you know when what happens?...
Quick question...Lost swift can't stack with sprint right?
No. Only the strongest movement speed buff applies.
Ok that's what I thought thanks
So to finished the bozja questline how much mettle do I need to farm? I rank 9 now.
You need to hit max rank (25) to complete the whole thing, but to unlock the newest zone you just need rank 10
You’ll rank up SUPER FAST in Zadnor until like rank 20 and then it slows to about the same pace of BSF
Goddammit. I actually interested in the story and stopping every quest to farm kinda sucks -_-.
where can I find all the combo strats people have been discovering with lost actions?
I'm playing BLM for E12S and wanted to know when is a good time to place leylines after the opener, I've been putting it before the diamond dust but it only is used for about half the duration. Is it worth saving until after that whole mechanic resolves?
do prepull ley lines, then you get a full use before shiva, and can hold the next one until after titan, then press on cd afterwards
ok thanks
a friend of mine wants to get the lunar kamuy fife, but getting people to do that duty is near impossible.. what should we do?
id be willing to pay quite a lot to help her get it, if there was an option
put up a pf for it as an unsynced duty
people typically don't want to do it synced
also currently the moogle tome event is going on
so less people are interested in that at teh moment
yeah i wouldnt wanna do it synced either if that doesnt effect the droprates
it doesn't though
ok
so unsyncd is it
how many people lvl 80 do you think would be needed?
4? 1 each role?
the more you have the fewer mechanics you have to do
but its doable with 3 people
one healer one tank one dps
a full party makes it go by much more quickly

New here, working my way through HW right now but excited for endgame, just curious, seeing posts by people with multiple jobs, is it better to have a couple jobs at max before applying to a static ect? (Aware im not even 80 yet but just curious) Thanks! 🙂
No, just one trick
As in get good enough on 1 job first
Thanks! What I was kinda figuring!
is there any reason to get the bozjan gear thats before the plat coin ones if im already at 510 gs
haste from augmented gear to use in bozja, mostly DRS, that's about it
so prob just skip to the 525 gear for a pld
yes
are the normal bozjan coins used for anything or just only good to gear other classes now?
500 of them can be traded for bozjan runners secrets which can be sold for like 1.5-2mil depending on server
the 500 one is more efficient than 999
gil wise
are the mhachi coins useless now?
have been for a while
^
Shooow uuus.
how many books per week in a savage drop?
1 of each
Belt hands head feet are 6 per
@sinful brook belt is also 4
belt is 6
Its a left side piece so it costs more
Has significant amounts of defensive stats too
Uh the other one was announced already XD
Oh
So my static found a glitch in SoS EX, apparently if you overshield someone above their max HP value they die despite being covered by the LB3 after adds
I guess patch 5.3 spoilers?
have you guys been able to consistently replicate taht?
seems kinda weird that its doing that
vods of this interaction have been floating around since 5.3
so yeah it can be consistently replicated
Oh yeah we've done it every pull to troll each other tbh
There was something similar back in 10S in HW
If you covered during the knockback, that person wouldn't take it and get stuck in the add and die
Does anyone know the earliest you can start raiding or should I just go straight to 80 first, I'm at 50 now.
current endgame raids are at lvl 80
but the first queueable ones are at alexander raids in heavensward
coils of bahamut is one you'd want to unsync due to the high difficulty
I was just wondering since I'm starting heavansword soon but wanted to start building raid experience to for when I reach 80. Some experience will make it easier for others to deal with my sheer noobness.
nah, you'll be able to get that experience just fine from MSQ
Oh
raids are pretty much just advanced trials
and msq has some not so easy ones to do
nothing super hard but most of the normal version of the raids aren't too hard either
savage raiding, however...
Okay, so I won't need to do the level 50 raids for anything or do you still get studd from them
just glam
Okay
Oh, so raiding is required

yes, you can, you'll need to before the 2.56 msq

hence why i posted the quest

the crystal tower raids do come up later in MSQ allll the way in shadowbringers
so pay some attention to the story
as is with all content in this game lol
I have been, its slow but good.
nice nice
there's even an endgame dungeon that brings a lot of different raids together in one big package
music was so good it got me to buy the game lol
Well even more reason to start raiding when I reach level 80.
the alexander raids and omega raids are also nice breaks in MSQ at lvl 60 and 70 respectively, and they have killer mechanics and banger music
Probably good xp to unless raids don't give xp
Alliance raid roulette daily is hella exp
I just gotta reach 80 and finish shadowbringers before endwalker.
I haven't looked at alliance raids yet.
the quest i sent will put you into one

we got 10+ years after EW
Jeez, that's what, at least 5 expansions.
yoshi-p will helm the game until he retires, adnd the same dev team is in charge again
This game is gonna be on the ps6
it just might, FF11 is still on PC and still a sub only game
The boss of this raid doesn't seem to bad, just a lot of moving like the other ones really.
correct, those are the easy ones
BLM would struggle with this, but I guess they would struggle with a lot of stuff.
not really

Spirit of the Watcher Effect: Lost Chainspell duration is extended to 90s
Can only be executed while in combat.
especially since bozja has lost chainspell
bozja has unique actions to let players experiment with their job of choice
I guess I’m not that knowledgeable so I wouldn’t know about this stuff
even without it though, blm wouldn't have that much of an issue if you know what you're doing on blm
people really like to overstate blm having mobility issues and such when that's not the case
yeah BLM has a lot of options at 80 to be flexible
triplecast, atherical anipulation, leylines TP, etc
I guess when I messed around with BLM I didn't get too far with that stuff.
being good at movement and rotation lets BLM pump out some of the highest DPS in the game
yep, you'll have plenty of time to find what you like when you've caught up
I'm SAM right now, I think is settled on him, I started on DRG though.
same, i started on red mage and now a hardcore MCH main
I saw that most ranged dps like and bard and MCH are pretty weak right now, is that true.
!faq meta
BRD and DNC have lower personal DPS but tons of buffs
MCH has zero downtime for almost any fight
being good on MCH means I do more DPS than an ok SAM or BLM
You would probably do better than me.
i just have played more than you have, you can catch up to me in time
fuck im not even that good yet, i just spent a lot of time practicing
I jump around to a lot of games too
Right now I'm juggling destiny 2, ff14 and cyberpunk

**「Level 60 Opener:」**http://ffxivrotations.com/2rqm
• Level 62 - [Kenki Mastery II]:
Introduces lots of Kenki, Kaiten all Iaijutsu, use excess Kenki on Shinten - use Level 70 Openers.
「Level 70 Openers:」
— Lvl70 Bana 1st: http://ffxivrotations.com/2r8w
— Lvl70 Midare 1st: http://ffxivrotations.com/2r8x
Bana 1st > Midare 1st.
Reserve Midare 1st for encounters that require you to move exactly as you need to cast Higanbana with Bana 1st opener (UCoB Twintania).
• Level 76 - [Tsubame-gaeshi]:
Use exclusively on Midare (ST) or Tenka (AoE).
• Level 78 - [Enhanced Jinpu and Shifu]:
You can practice looping™️ on Innocence, don't loop in dungeons.
You want to always have Jinpu up for Higan, it further boosts the damage of the DoT
standerd opener is getting shifu combo for speed into jinpu, then bana for dot and meikyo into midare
some people prefer to midare first
Bana makes more sense to me to get the dot going.
ye, but without jinpu you'd lose extra dot dps
jinpu is 10% at lvl 50 and like 13% at 72
same for shifu
Iaijutsu doesn't break the combo
So you go Haga>Shifu>Kasha>Haga>Jinpu>Higan
Then finish the combo with Gekko
That makes sense to me, that's more dps, thanks
dont forget kaiten for even more DPS at 52
So use that on bana?
can't really build it for first bana at 52 but at 62 you get more kenki
yep 50% dps buff on the next skill
including midare too
1200 pot attack
Not for the first Bana but the second most likely since it's more overall damage.
yep!
Or the midare if it's a shorter fight.
yeah pretty much
kiaten and midare just allow SAM to do crazy DPS
later on you even get to do a second midare that's also buffed
Looking at the skills, goyoten seems fairly niche in terms of use as well as a couple others since they cost kenki for little damage.
Like shinten and kyuten.
gyoten is your gap closer
so it's good for when the boss forces you to move away
shinten is your main kenki spender
since ikishoten just gives you 50 kenki every 2 mins
This class has a lot of flexibility it seems.
yep, sam has plenty of cool stuff to use and master
Jeez, it's already midnight.
this game is too much fun to talk about
It has a lot of depth that I miss in newer games.
learning, optimizing, playing, gearing, mastering, its just a blast
I used to spend hours optimizing stuff in eso and dragons dogma but now everything is super easy to learn after they simplify it.
the devs did their best to streamline while giving lots of depth to classes
and by god they've done it
AND balanced it
Balance is a rare sight nowadays.
i came from overwatch, so i know how ya feel
In destiny 2 they purposely make things op compared to others to change the meta.
ah, the old hammer stratagy to balance
Isnt it better to almost always start with midare opener to catch the raid buffs?
not necessarily, depends on the fight
its preference until you know when things like downtime where you can't target the boss are
its a consideration of "can i get an extra use of this somewhere before i can't touch them"
higanbana snapshotting buffs is equally as valuable as well
and its not like the midare won't catch buffs
no matter which opener you do your higan and both midares should be in buffs
Yea midare still fits cuz of meikyo
with the cheese strat at valor10 , how fast can u kill dabog?
Is Lost Slash good for anything?
800 potency weaponskill, it’s pretty decent
especially on war/mch/drg, since they can force it to crit and triple its potency
a common strat people use is to stack lost focus before an encounter, and open with lost slash (+reassemble/IR/life surge) for huge damage, then swap lost focus for other useful actions
the best part is that it’s an ogcd weaponskill so it’s free potency during burst, and doesn’t delay your rotation when used
when looking at fflogs static parses
what exactly is "execution"
speed is obvious, just fastest kill time
but execution is less clear
i assume if you die then that just removes you from the ranking entirely
no
if it's just damage taken then wouldn't having someone die and completely ignore certain mechanics skew it
damage taken/deaths, and compares to other groups
this can be skewed through a job like drk/war invulning a tb with magic vuln compared to a pld/gnb invulning the same tb
it's a pretty worthless metric overall
For endgame, is there some customization of your stats or choose what type of bis you can pick for your job?
All classes have the same bis with the only variations usually being skill/spell speed to hit a certain tier, or level of piety for healers
The exception is Black Mage, which can either go Crit-based or Spell Speed-based and basically have opposite gear to each other
Otherwise no there's not really any customisation on what BIS is, because it's... Bis
my pride and joy is my 0 execution ranked kill on e12s p1
wonder what it looks like when you die 2 mins in, lay dead for 6, and finally get rezzed for the final 2 mins XD
a... valley?
yes
I was just overwhelmed by the AOE in keeper of the lake, that was my first fight with near constant AOE.
I only died from the arena wide aoe, the normal ones just paused my dps quite a bit.
there is no easy way to find the yellow stoplight for basic rel, right?
eyes
ahhh yes and the swirling of the camera
yea
to help a bit, in case you're not aware
if you see a spot without a stoplight at all, the yellow is directly opposite
well if you want you can look for the two blue tethers, either the yellow stoplight will be between them or opposite them
this is what I do, I just look where there isn't one
way easier imo
it's just mostly a matter of which you see first haha
could anyone help with Plvl ?
which fight is that?
Plvl?
Power leveling
No
I was wondering if someone had done the math on lvl 50/60/70 balance, mostly stemming from the all tank UCOB clear
since GNB was so busted it could be a DPS lmao
Is it possible to get field notes by standing right outside a duel area or do I have to do the duel to get it? Was told it was possible but I can't find anything about it on google.
sad
You don't have to do the duels to get those particular field notes, there are other CEs/skirmishes that reward them
but the duels are 100% drop rate, whereas the other options are lower percent
I know that, I just don't wanna have to do castrum 3 times in 1 day
Why does black mage need need 3600 sps for JP oner
if you have lower sps than that, the thundercloud proc won't last long enough to use in UI, unless you get a natural proc
Becomes a matter of consistency with that in mind. You don't want to rely on an rng proc that might not happen
yeah the opener is pretty bad if you're not using a proc there, if you can't guarantee it then you're better off doing another opener
Mhmm. ModJP at least serves as a good in between option, and there's always old faithful No B4
Hy guys! returning player here, I havent really done any savage raiding since like alexander, and I'd like to get back into it before next tier, any advice on where I should start?
catch up gear-wise to current tier, so like i520, and join practice parties for current tier
next one isn't coming out till like christmas, a month after endwalker launch
Sounds good! I'm getting close to 520 so I'll keep an eye out! The only one I've even seen so far is e9s
Random Question:
If you do it correctly, should there be empty spaces between players when doing e9s Rin Brambles?
As in, like in this image, should M1 and R1 have space between them that players can move though?
yeah there's a small gap that you can run between
I see, thank you
Also my static is missing the markers for Rin Brambles, any idea on how to make them ourselves?
can try and replicate them by eye from diagrams
i'd just waste a pull and have her center so you can better emulate
4 markers sort of kind of near max melee
and then 4x markers to where you can drop them with some space for maneuvering
I see, thank you
is there a job that would benefit more from augmented bozja gear? I have so many coins and now and with some of the new lost actions(chainspell, i'm looking at you) it doesn't seem like they would help as much as before.
tanks might like it
i've been using chainspell/ordained on blm for 100% instant casts. i wonder what the reduction in recast time would be with leylines/haste

Hi, I have a question about loot rules in Eden's Promise Savage. How do chests work? For example in Umbra I see that it can give up to 3. If it is a fresh clear for everyone, do we get 3? or 2 are guaranteed and the 3rd is random? If there are 1-4 people who already cleared, do we get 1? or is a 2nd one possible?
!faq savageloot @crystal saddle
Per tier:
First floor: (Belt/Earring/Necklace/Bracelet/Ring) x3
Second floor: (Head/Gloves/Boots) x2 + Weapon Tomestone + Glaze
Third floor: Head/Gloves/Boots + Legs + Twine + Solvent
Fourth floor: Weapon + Chest + Random single weapon + Mount + Minion
Loot Rules: Following each weekly reset, every player has a chance to obtain loot from the Savage encounters of the current raid tier. Upon clearing each floor, you will obtain 1 book specific to that fight (e.g. Book of Anamorphosis) and a chance to roll on the loot from that floor. Regardless of if you obtained loot from your weekly clear, you will be barred from rolling on loot from the same encounter until the next weekly reset.
Entering an encounter before clearing the previous floor(s) will relinquish all rewards from previously uncleared floors. (e.g. Entering E12S before clearing E9S for the week will relinquish loot from E9S, E10S, and E11S.) You will lose a chance to earn a book and your chance to roll on any loot that drops that week.
The number of players in your party that have cleared/skipped the encounter for the week will also affect the loot you will get after clearing the encounter.
0 players cleared: 2 chests
1-4 players cleared: 1 chest
5-8 players cleared: 0 chests
Tldr its based on # of people not cleared that week in the party
Max of 2 chesrs
And the number of items you get inside a 1 chest clear is based on which chest you got
The 1 item chest or the 2 item chest
aaaah I was confused by the x3 numbers, so it's not that there are 3 chests but that one of the chests contains 3
thank you!
The x3 means out of that pool of items 3 of them appear in a 2chest clear
Can have multiples of one item appear
followup, i got 1.76 w/ LL + full aug bozja
1.78*
Thanks very much
is this the right place to talk about xivalexander?
i just found out about the existence of it and i'm wondering whether or not it's in the same vein as act
Never heard of it, what does it do?
i have a limited understanding of it based on some brief research
basically it's a tool to force-allow double and even triple weaving despite ping
how it does this is apparently not illegal
people have mixed opinions on it
yeah but act is against tos too
Since it directly modifies game data
so like how against tos is it
it goes about things a bit differently than act
Act is more like a math monkey doing spreadsheeting for you
my understanding is that it can allow things like double weaving pots
at base I think most people probably wouldn't complain too much about it, it can be modified to be a bit more suspect
yeah the notes on it made that clear, modifying it is absolutely cheating
Whereas this, while able to improve the qol of play for many people is touchy since you can go a lot farther than that
but i was wondering whether or not these top .5% parsers are using it
cuz like, things like double weave displacement aren't possible for most of us
at base it just simulates you having 30ms ping
Using it to do triple weaving without clipping is 100% against TOS
since it gives a direct advantage normal players can't ever achieve
I think even fully modified you're probably not cleanly double weaving with pot or necessarily triple weaving super well (though I don't think that'd be much advantageous anyways) but I dunno
it's not something that's going to make the difference between the top 10 and the top 1 or anything, or whatever like that
at least, not in a way that's going to be undetectable and getting someone banned
i'm more interested in the fact that it claims to remove the clunkiness that's build in to ff14
since it looks like it makes double weaving smoother
mmm it's going to affect animation lock and caster tax, if you're on high ping it'll definitely feel a bit better. Short of that it's not going to be drastic
i'm on pretty regular ping
tbh
if it's simulating 30ms, i'm only like 50ms
47 ish
yeah I wouldn't especially bother with it then
I play around 80 ping and rarely have any hiccups for most jobs that I play.
Even MCH's Hypercharge burst windows barely have any clipping for me
i notice it most often during RDM melee combo
sometimes there's a very slight clip if i weave between
yeah fleche and contre just seem to have a slightly higher animation lock
i mitigated it by spamming the ogcd really hard like half a second early
They seem so fucking inconsistent
sometimes I can weave both together with no problem, and other times it clips

They have standard locks. Displacement is 1.1 and it has forced movement. Pots are also 1.1, but as consumables they don't queue
The shorter rdm melee combo steps will be prone to clipping if you have some latency, because it's a 1.5s action and if your lock's putting you closer to 0.7s or higher for oGCDs, the more odds of clipping, because of the general game variance and networking jitter
since 2 * 0.7 is already 1.4, it doesn't take much for it to spike and suddenly oops 0.1s or greater and now you've clipped
My line on it is the memory modification is a line that shouldn't be crossed. But it also only addresses one part of the issue that comes with higher ping.
Obviously modifying it further to sim 0 ms, or even negative ms, is when things start to get much more pronounced as cheating
xivplugin with act doesn't modify memory, it only reads net data and chat memory
Both are technically against the ToS, but xivplugin is regarded as an "acceptable" grey area. Memory modification is not
That's not me saying per players, that's how SE have outlined it
Ravahn's code repo is known and SE could go after him and Aditu to try and nix xivplugin with act, but they know it's so deeply a part of general play now
My view on Alexander is that it replicates how the game is actually meant to be played - the devs live in Japan and keep making stupid things like Blood Weapon and Overheat that clearly show they think the experience of living in a small country with good infrastructure is universal
The idea that your playstyle should depend on your real-world geographical location is absolutely asinine and I welcome the effort to level the playing field
Whats the best class to solo hoh?
Gunbreaker is considered one of the easiest to solo with. war, drk, rdm, brd and mch also do fairly well
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YVBSTOgJO-xOAB6YyKZEZRikjXFPle6Ihf_E7VdmQnI/edit if you want a good doc that covers soloing hoh
Is there any guide there? Cause im planning to yolo run without watching any guide
To see how far i get
it has guides for each set of 10 floors, but can ignore those as its in the latter half of the doc
can just read the top part which covers the basics
Anyway thank you ill use that
at higher floors you basically need to learn how to spin enemies to survive
hey guys im having a question for players that experienced the release of aesthetes gear!
Im currently leveling all my crafters because I prefer the economic aspect in the game. With endwalker coming soon, im wondering if overmelding my aethetes gear is necessary to obtain the new crafting set probably coming along with the patch. Was it necessary to have BiS pre-aesthetes to craft aesthetes in the first place? because I believe it would cost me alot to get there. im new to ff and idk how it works :D
endwalker is gonna have filler crafter sets starting from 81 which you would be able to craft without having a fully melded set. a fully melded set is only necessary if you want everything HQ with as little steps as possible and have day 1 combat crafted gear ready to sell, you can in most cases achieve similar results by working out your own rotation for lower melds yourself.
tldr rn having a fully melded set isnt worth it
alright thank you so much man
just for reference, how much would the average cost of full melded DoH gear be?
well you can make crafter yellow scrips/crafter white scrips to make it for free, but its also the longer route and takes like literal ages. if you want to buy it all, youre probably looking at 2 mil+ (may be higher and lower depending on your server) if you want to get it in time for combat crafted gear or selling early crafted crafting gear
protip you can make also make a lot of money by selling those materia
when new crafting gear drops the highest rank materia can go for like 50k each
the 2nd highest rank can also go up to 20k but people need way more of it because they have a lower% chance of melding it so they buy it in bulk
great ways of making cash
thats an incredbibly insightful information. thank you so much
was tumult in e4s physical
or somehow magical
i don't remember any raidwides being feintable and i could only thing tumult in e4s to be one of them
magic
that shit's magical?
heck yea
physical raidwides are very far and few between
you could feint the tbs
and little titan's autos
casters lose like 12 years from their lifespan everytime physical raidwides are implemented
i.e. e7s
regarding optimization for e10s
so the idea behind addle and reprisal not working on the dogs during the dog carousel
is that the aoe is coming from the dog entities and not the boss
so i've believed since then that addle and reprisal don't work since those are debuffs on the boss itself
and not on the dogs that emit the raidwide
someone just mentioned it's possible to reprisal that raidwide if you time it right
wondering if there's merit to that
this is for uptime dogs, of course
i was thinking that it could be plausible that the non-targetable dog entities are still affected by reprisal since it's an AoE debuff?
or is it just bullshit and reprisal doesn't work period?
reprisal won’t work on jumpy dogs period
nor the orbs
the debuffs inflicted on shadowkeeper aren’t mirrored onto the other actors, so they’re functionally useless for that mechanic
yeah that's what I thought too
someone i know mentioned that apparently you can reprisal them, which I thought was bullshit at first
i guess i just did some mental gymnastics and figured maybe reprisal can affect the other actors since it's an aoe debuff idk
Does Haste gear Bozja benefit ninja?
it benefits every job
you're getting a net increase in the amount of gcds you use in an encounter
and there isn't really some trade-off like you'd have with normal gear
haste vs no haste
Yeah since you can’t optimize your stats Haste is all you got
Do you have to clear E9S once before you can go to E10S?
no
but if you haven't cleared a floor that week, then you need someone to queue you in
someone who has cleared 9s for that week
yeah, just not seeing many E9S groups i can get into so i figure people have moved on
does just going in ruin E9S chest or would I have to clear E10S to invalidate E9S chests
just going in forfeits all loot including the book from any lower floors
and i thought EX PF was bad XD
so wait, is it that you have to do savages in order to get gear?
I've never touched Savage but that sounds awful
If you don't do savage you don't need the gear anyways.
I get that, I just wanted to understand better. You get gear if you do 9-10-11-12, but, say, if you did 12 first, the first three are locked off?
yes
That's wild.
how so
Why does it matter what -order- you do the content in, in a given week? What's the benefit here?
The first three are locked off.
That's why you do them in order. Otherwise, you can't get gear from all four raids.
...Right, I'm just--I'm trying to understand why the system is that way.
Oh, that's what you meant. Generally, the raids (in each tier) are designed such that 1<2<3<4 in difficulty.
So I assume they want to make sure you can clear the easier raids before you clear the harder raid.
Even after you've cleared it once, a lot of folks struggle with reclears.
So while I'm not a fan of the system, it makes sense.
People end up skipping around later in the tier
Yeye. Each raid gives you different gear, so at some point, you stop reclears for gear you already have.
OKay, yeah, I guess if it makes sure there's People There for reclears
It’s like how revelation tome stones are capped at 450 a week
Getting new gear takes time, getting the best gear takes effort
It’s also to prevent burnout
Since otherwise people would just farm to unhealthy level of hours
can't exactly kneecap the longevity of the content the moment it comes out
it also encourages starting at the beginning
e12s and e9s are different worlds of difficulty
reclears or not, for a new savage raider, you should not touch e12s without having cleared e11s
well yeah, but once you've beaten e12s, say
it just seems weird you have to schedule them in an order. I understand that they get harder as you go on
you don't have to
if your static is to the point where you only care about e12s
you can just get a friend to queue you in
...never mind, I'm clearly not being --
but yeah you'll forfeit all your loot from the 3 prior floors
Right. I just find /that/ mechanic weird. I understand that the difficulty ramps upwards.
idk from clear PF point of view it seems like 11 - 9 - 10 - 12
i mean i looked at them and i pretty much feel the same. it wasn't until late last night i found a PF group that wasn't brambles but actual tiles prog
after 3 days of brambles meme pf
pf is consistently shit XD
11 doesn't have multiple solutions to each mechanic, there's 1 clear cut method to do
the only variation would be blue uptime for turn of the heavens 2, whether thats done at all
9/10 are also earlier floors so there tend to be more people that coasted through, so reclears are tougher in that snese
you see the joke is that your name is orange
discord mod and reddit mod pf
is getting orange meant to be easy now or a challenge?
XD
yes
yes to it being easy or a challenge
no
no to it being easy or a challenge
( i meant the non-cleared side vs clear side )
Orange hard cuz its 95th percentile
But orange also easy because most of the people who cleared early/parsed arent parsing in 5.5 so less competition
5.5 oranges are the Store/Great Value brand
Anyone on Light wanna run a seiryu farm, im 51 totems deep rn and this is my last doggo (:
Seems nobody is joining PF
is it disrespectful to not eat food while progging? Because I'm in the mindset of; I'd rather eat after I see the entire fight
But if were learning the fight
I'd rather not eat if were just learning
If you're squishy and/or undergeared, some healers might get annoyed if you don't eat (for the vitality boost).
But otherwise, it should be fine. Most tend to eat, but if it's just prog, it's not a big deal.
Kaels words on me
; ;
Is there a good resource for updated foods lol
for raids
smoked chicken is pretty common choice for most jobs, tbh its also a fairly safe choice as well
otherwise, should check the balance. look at your job's resource channel
bis set ups will usually list the food of choice
Previous tier food is still pretty good for the most part, and may be cheaper
Or go for the weaker current tier pure damage food being pizza
when pizza sucks more than chicken 😔
chicken is optimal food irl as well
"ay cloud of darkness hold up lemme eat a domino's for 1 sec"
domino's isn't food btw
are you?
yeah
!item coffee biscuit
time to turn biscuit in for 3k gil
if biscuit was a mythril file you could turn him to 8k gil
smash biscuit into 3 sets to turn in
id smash biscuit
can the kb after giants be antikb'd?
no
You can use a gap closer to stop its movement a bit though
i still have no clue how to use shukuchi for that
I think its rougher with shukuchi and elusive since they have no target
Use a macro /s
input shukuchi right before kb, it resolves so that your movement starts after the kb starts moving you
problem with that
i do it too early
i go to the middle and "oh shit, im gonna fall off and die"
unless i do it manually which i should be doing
i didn't get the timing to clicking it yet
either is fine as long as you get a good sense for when to press the button
the closer you are to the edge, the more meme it gets though

hope my corps is up by then
or enough that i can save it for a few sec
i typically wouldn't hold corp-a-corp if it means you lose a use. as you move to the safe side for the kb just channel your cast. if it goes off you have the duration of the dual cast to walk to safe spot
just use displacement to stop the kb

i see how could work
but you have to do it on the side you're being pushed from?
idk seems like if you did it on hte other side you might sling off
the basic premise of using a disengage skill to kb cancel, is you interrupt the kb that you'd get normally and just functionally replace it with the displacement movement instead. So technically it wouldn't matter what side you're on, as long as you could use displacement safely from your current position
of course, it's not really something you'd really look to be doing, but that's how it would work
but do it and clutch rez someone for the clear, it'd be badass
If you need to rez too.much after that mechanic it might be rough in pf to clear
are parses still logged now that we have echo
gotta silence echo to parse there will be no more echo logs the moment that option got added
at least from fflogs discord talk
How do you silence echo?
df settings
My static says we can still parse with echo. How does that work?
you silence the echo and then enter the duty
since parsing with echo invalidates the log
As in, you can’t upload that log at all and/or it’s not included in your profile?
Oh, gotcha. Wouldn’t work for recruitment resumes. Thanks!
It was me this morning i was the one who killed 3 pulls on e9s i've never felt so embarrased ;_;
that feeling of guilt is immeasurable
dont sleep and raid lads
Why aren't my savage logs ranking???
With the release of patch 5.57, Eden's Promise (Savage) has had its weekly loot restriction unlocked in addition to having 10% echo added to all encounters. This means that any log that you attempt to upload on FFLogs will not be ranked. The maintainer of FFLogs does not currently plan to add a partition to allow rankings for runs done with echo.
Logs can still be ranked, however, if you open your Duty Finder settings and enable the Silence Echo option. Uploaded logs with no echo will properly rank.
