Are there any differences between mounts?
Some mounts allow multiple people (2/4/8) to ride at once, with all mounts having the same movement speed. A partial exception to this rule is the SDS Fenrir, a mount from the Mog Station. The SDS Fenrir acts as if you have the first mount speed boost obtained from completing specific quests in the story, making it a bit faster than other mounts, but only until completing the relevant story quests for that zone.
Can I make my mount faster?
Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

You can get the 200 required Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes immediately after ''The Company You Keep''.
Are there any differences between mounts?
Some mounts allow multiple people (2/4/8) to ride at once, with all mounts having the same movement speed. A partial exception to this rule is the SDS Fenrir, a mount from the Mog Station. The SDS Fenrir acts as if you have the first mount speed boost obtained from completing specific quests in the story, making it a bit faster than other mounts, but only until completing the relevant story quests for that zone.
Can I make my mount faster?
Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

No. When you augment gear, what's actually happening is you're turning in the unaugmented gear as "currency", essentially, to get the augmented version
so any materia you have in the gear at the time you turn it in will be lost
which means prior to gear augmentation, you should try to retrieve as much materia as you can

This is probably referring to when the amount of players during server peak times was ridiculously high. The character creation engine uses the login servers, and so if there's a large queue to log into the game because of high active player population, both free trial logins and character creation are temporarily suspended.
"Congested" is a status SE applies to a server when they want to balance total server population away from certain servers and towards other ones. So you could have a server in a non-Congested status and still be unable to create characters if the current active population is very high, but even if a Congested server has a low or nonexisted login queue, that server still will not allow new characters or home world transfers of existing characters because of its Congested label.
