So this might be spoilers for the future but I've been having some theories regarding Soulframe from an environmental storytelling perspective.

To start off: ||I saw someone mention in another chat that the Ode are aliens. I wasn't sure if that was true but I kept it in the back of my mind. I thought it'd be fitting if it's an inversion of Warframe, Warframe a high Sci-Fi with no true aliens, and Soulframe with a heavy Fantasy setting containing aliens.||

Well ||I don't know if that is true, but I have thought about it. Mainly if the Ode are aliens? Why do they use primitive weapons?||
My answer: ||It's intentional. The Ode already have flying ships, floating sky castles and sky towers and 360 degree Tank-like Cannons. It's not that they lack the technology. It's that they're choosing not to equip their footsoldiers with it. And why is that?|| Also simple. ||The question isn't "Why aren't the Ode running around with guns?" but "What happens if the inhabitants of this planet get ahold of their technology?" once you understand that. Carrying swords, polearms, shields and etc makes sense to keep the locals technologically stunted. It's already the weapons of the local land.||

But under that lens I begun to think about another question. ||Ode'n sludge isn't pollution. On a surface level, it looks like colonizers exploiting the land of its resources and polluting out of greed or neglect. I don't think that's true either.|| Because? ||Actually look at the machines that pollute the lands. It doesn't seem like they are expelling excess waste, they are intentionally polluting the land.|| So if you understand it the way I do. ||This isn't pollution, this is terraforming. Now look at what the Ode'n sludge does? It mutates creatures, has its own native flowers and mushrooms. But the most telling is the Sky Towers. Where they crash the area is completely alien. These are biospheres that leaked out into the enviroment after crashing.||

Still, felt fun hearing "Ode are aliens" off-hand and being unsure if it was true, then dwelling on how everything else makes sense when viewed through that lens.

More so since I wasn't even using any written stuff to figure that out, just context clues from the world and enviroment.

Idk if you've played Waste Bear yet? In that we see a certain significant Ode figure, and they are quite unique in design (though technically may still be humanoid beneath what we see, we're really not sure yet)

Afaik for certain:

• The Ode are guaranteed alien. They come from external to planet Alca, use distant stars for forging, etc

• Synod is an Ode

• The inquisitors are most likely Ode. They're humanoid, but they seem to have blue or blue-ish skin (actually I can't remember where this came from because mada's skin seems normal if a bit pasty, and torque's is in a monochrome concept sketch lmao)

• The Sinecure are mercenaries working under the Ode'n dominion/empire/rule. They are humanoids, like the inquisitors. They have faces, seen on Nimrod and Hunters, and they have human-coloured skin, seen on the Thawtide Hunters' bare hands. They may be Ode, they may be spellsung human, they may be remotely operated bodies, they may even be some other species 'collected' by the Ode similar to Half-life's combine. They can be heard vocally complaining about 'two suns on this sweltering rock', indicating that they are at least not used to being on Alca, perhaps?

• brainwashed "humans" tend to just be living their usual lives but while siding with the ode

yeah they do seem to be distinctly different, if they were the same I guess there's no reason they wouldn't make all the farmfolk into sinecure

but also i don't think just "brainwashing" a person would make them require the sorta air and ichor mixed into water to be able to live

• Ode's ground forces that operate in Midrath and seemingly all across the Alca. They perform the duties of collecting the tributes, hunting Omen Beasts and Gruul (slur for Ode rejects?), drowning the world in ichor and suppressing the nature itself.
• Sinecure by definition is "a position that requires little to no effort to receive benefits", which fits incredibly well with the whole concept of Ode not bothering to deal with the consenquences of a long-term damage it causes to Alca for as long as they can just take whatever they want from it. They are a lazy and violent bastards that care not of the world and only care about warming their asses by the fire.

yeah 100%, anyone who needs ode terraforming conditions is an Ode for sure. Just wondering if it's been said anywhere that the sinecure themselves fall under that, especially since they don't require breathing apparatus (Nimrod and hunters) or gloves (thawtide hunters)

Ode
This word refers to several things

• A collective term that describe antagonistic forces that we as players and Omen Beasts oppose.
• Spell-song casted by the sky gods that makes people forget their memories and corrupts them. Announcement trailer mentions a song "... pitched sweet and solemn, and they that heard became hollow, fallen. Their children raised in castles loft, made hunters, greve of others not."

I think what little we have now is already telling us that the overall theme of SF is how the industrialisation (and luxury, discipline, uniformity and convenience that it brings) is incredibly tempting to the point that it is like a literal song that is a very powerful promise to alleviate any discomfort, but it makes the people who gave in to this temptation (out of desperation or else) to become hollow, ruthlessly materialistic and lacking any spiritual upbringing. In a world where famine & war can happen (like Lady Deora mentions in the boss battle), where the nature dictates the cycle of life and the living is hard, this could be a fair trade for many. Not to mention the following generations who grew up in those "castles loft" and who don't have much choice, but to accept this way of living.

The cost of maintaining this level of stability and uniformity is to give up on the world that, despite being the origin of all, the Ode and its people simply cannot accept anymore, nor can they accept the memories that this world still holds. Memories that would remind them how the real world works and it has its own rules.

At this point, the idea of having a consensus with the nature is so repulsive to the Ode, they'd better see it covered in grease and ichor as long as they are able collect their tithe from what little remains in this hurting world, while still keeping the literal distance from any potential inconvenience that the mother nature can bring. They treat Alca like a dirty attic that is not worth cleaning up, so they are turning it into a landfil. They seem to even dispose of their dead by simply throwing them from Ode castles down onto Midrath, using it like a cemetery.

Right now with the Wyld versions, there's a ton of additional power/progression by comparison - literally 2 pact's worth of points to upgrade perks

For non 'common' rarity items you need multiple fragments to craft it. You can get the armors fragments and the royal tines weapons fragments from Vadagar Stag. Pacts (the item on the far right) dont need multiple fragments to be crafted

Witch was a term very strongly used just as a way to demonize people in most Christian cultures

it depends on the time period fwiw, but on the same note, it is worth stating a lot of witches were knowledgeable in medicines well before it became more common place

the way we describe witches today is rather modernized, as depending on the time frame a witch could just be anything from a random guy the mayor/baron didnt like, or someone who was an actual pagan practicing medicinal practices

keep in mind stag can spawn in faction tales, I'd recommend looking for them around MK arena I got stag a lot last time I did that granted faction tales were bugged in the area so none of them actually spawned but that's a different issue
also if you find a naturally spawned stag you can host a stag share since it'll force the stag of the people joining you to spawn in the same location once they leave to their world too

• Tough to say without screenshots/videos, so you might need to give more info. Which weapon are you talking about, your primary or sidearm? And were you using it, or using the other one?

Afaik, with the latest leveling changes, xp will be shared between your pact and your active weapon. So if you're using your greatsword for example, that's not going to level your flyblades unless you swap to them

If it wasn't that, it could always be a UI bug which does sometimes happen - or a client bug if you were in co-op

Personally took this to mark him as a being of importance within the herd

The royal tines also refer to him as "The Great Omen Stag, Garren Rood". So perhaps it is Omen Beast itself which is a title/role as well?

The Corrupted are a backfired experiment by the Ode trying to fuse magic with Ichor to make subserviant things. What they ended up doing is creating a whole new faction that also hates them, us, and eachother.

In cases when the envoy is out of detection range, you can watch the ode and corrupted kill eachother. And different types of corrupted kill eachother (or try to, in the case of the mockeries and dogzillas).

It's possible that it's just the ghosts that're corrupted. For all we know, the husks were just basically robots without any pilot, maybe controlled by a nearby Fey. Just tools. We have info that the fey could grow things like swords, bows, staves, etc. Not hard to think they could grow the husks and just puppet them from a ways away. As such, there might not be anything there to corrupt. The ghosts being just regular old ghosts till they got corrupted.

Pretty much. Warframe has become the game to play while many of us wait for the next prelude. I really hope that Soulframe adds things like the Honoraria in Warframe, with hard mode boss challenges that tax even the best of us (like Janus Capitan Vor).

Yeah, I don't mind grinding too much (LR5 in WF), but I like grinding with something to look forward to at the end, and I would rather grind a lot of different things. To put that in context ... Only 2 of the 3 factions are needed in Soulframe to max level in the game. I don't really care about cosmetics, but having unique and useful gear in each would be nice.

If you want more stuff to do you can farm for Weapons, Armour, Accessories or Pacts, you can check the lists of those via their wiki pages. Tons of those to be farmed and ranked up

You could rank up all your https://wiki.avakot.org/Enclaves too if you like, or collect all the https://wiki.avakot.org/Enchantments and try getting them to max rank

You can attack as the wolf but only once, and after the attack animation is done, the player character gets teleported to the wolfs position

It's also worth stating that this game is in Alpha, which means the early early stages.

Like you said though, SF is an alpha and much of that type of stuff isn't in yet, and there isn't really an "end game" yet. I think the closest would be hunting animals down to upgrade your mods to max.
