You can always replay the Orengall fable in order to change the chosen pup aswell as the permanently added +1 virtue of choice from your answer (as of now you cannot do the same with the answer you have given in the Bromius fable unless you join somebody doing it for the fist/only time).
Your chosen pup will grow and most likely become a mount when they are introduced to the game.

If you picked Spirit at the start of the game, then you're already a member of the Children of Alca, and you should see quest markers on your map when outside.

You don't get them from anyone inside the enclave. You get them from randomly spawning avacados out in the overworld.

It is possible Alora remained behind for some reason, perhaps even to empower the Envoys.

This means Agrona was likely before the Fonnish Charge perhaps even significantly.

There's also the Quiet Years to consider, only mentioned in reference to the Mockeries. Their gear is old. Perhaps the oldest in the game. Meaning the Quiet Years may be the oldest era of Midrath, and the Mockeries seem to be related to the Fey somehow, implying it was before they left.

One of the strongest theories for the Mockeries rn is that they are Fey cursed, perhaps even as a result of the Agrona battle and maybe a war related to it. But that's mostly conjecture.

From what Steve described in his stream, its going to be where you equip a "meditation" which attunes you to one of the three virtues or a mix of two. I could maybe see them doing "requires Spirit meditation" or "requires Grace Meditation" for some weapons, since Steve said the ultimate goal is to push "Spirit Caster, Grace Bow/Throwing, Courage Melee" a little further.

But Steve was also talking very casually off the cuff so that might not quite be how itll work

Yeah, I know. But if we treat every single Ode soldier on the potential of them possibly being a spellsung human instead of a natural born ode, then we might as well not be killing Ode at all. ALL of the Sinecure are masked. It's impossible to tell if they're human or not at a glance. Lady Deora was an exception since it was obvious that she wasn't all the way gone, since her skin hadn't been corrupted by Ode just yet, so the corruption wasn't completely overtaking her.

stepping on eggshells around the ambiguity of the Ode, who are a MAJORITY Alien invaders from a distant star, having a CHANCE being human, will get these remnants of humanity nowhere in the journey of reclaiming the lands of Alca.

We actually just theorycrafted it over in #gameplay-discussion and found that with a blessed Joinery, The Paragon isn't very far behind at all. It's less for sure, but with the charged Gem mechanic it's actually very comparable.

That's at fully max build though.

I don't like the idea that using a blessed joinery is required to make a special weapon like The Paragon better than the bottom of the barrel in its class. I think that's a bad precedent to set.
I also don't like that it requires giving up one of The Paragon's unique quirks: the ability to scale off any virtue.
Your free to continue thinking this take is valid, but know that to me and many others, it is not. The paragon needs a buff.

Hey, is it just me, or is the Waste Bear fight far too difficult?
I manage to reach the phase after mashing F to destroy one of the heads, and suddenly the vine trail attacks it does just kill me in seconds with no method to dodge or block it.

I can assure you, the trail attacks can be dodged. Straight left or right with the correct timing. It also requires you double tap dodge to get the full roll.

You can also skip that phase entirely if you do enough damage
