Okay the base damage is the same but the scaling is... random? On the same stat layout at the same level, versions of this weapon can have different (+) amounts. That's going to be a nightmare to track.

With variable perks, scaling, and even hyper rare rarities, it's literally just rivens as weapons.
And it'll be marketed the same way when trading arrives.

Okay update there was some perk confusion with what applies to visible stats and what does not, the damage does not seem to randomly roll thank god.

How does Prisms now feel with Liths for a New player?
I don't have the patience to start over, or experiment with it rn.
Some of the thoughts i'd like to hear is.
"Did liths improve the new player experience or not?"
"How much did it improve?"
"What are some of the issues the new players experienced?"
"*How is MR leveling?"
"Anything else they may want to add?"
The reason I am asking this is because I feel like one of the issues I had with Prisms was about how they made the early game worse. Especially in regards to finding and equipping weapons/armor with few Prisms availible. Which weapons they find early to try and level their MR. etc.
Initially Liths feel like it may help. As long as the new players have a liths to use when they get a new piece of gear. but if they don't have them it's back to the same issue. Instead Liths feel like it adress some of the issues with prisms, not all.
So I'm curious to read peoples thoughts tmr or in a week. when people have had some time with it.

The tiers just have the potential to have a number of tempers but they can roll less, that's bad.

imho THIS is what we should be using all the extra fragments we have for. Use fragments to do that. Give us a pathway to customize it manually and not have to rely on RNG.

yeah i usually just use the optimization feature on the nvidia app which works pretty well but soulframe doesnt come up on it.

Ode aren't human but they're vaguely human-like. They have blood and organs and flesh and probably have to poop sometimes.

So we have 12 pacts, and 12 loadout slots.
The respec item's drop rate seems like bottom bin tier drop chance right now.
If that keeps, think of newer players who don't have tons of this resource like we all were given default right now. One loadout per pact, right? Well that limits pacts to be a "certain virtue skew". Discourages experimentation. Discourages swapping.
Sorry, my honest opinion is this is bad. Bad idea. Respeccing shouldn't cost a resource, or revert to the Prisms. Plus prisms gave faction reputation more of a point. Taking prisms away from it leaves them with what, some armor that isn't really worth it other than Orengall, and Ode Tempest? What incentive is there to rank all them up? Buying joineries, that drop like candy anyway?

The big tower in the center of the NE swamp I've found baneretts spawn.
Plus they will spawn sometimes in Sparrow Tales.

That's what the patch notes said drop them. Banneretts that use maces, and the specific agari that is to the east of the spider hole.

ok, yeah i'll say it, there is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAy tf too much rng with the current mace. you want a sovereign for the base stats, which, is already a massive undertaking, but then you also want the right temper, which you can have up to 6. this looks like what my partner told me when she was talkign about horrid farms in PoE, and this is for one weapon

This won't work. And that's not solving the eventual inventory space issue, when every weapon is like this. Inventories are gonna fill up QUICK.
My suggestion would be to use the billions of fragments we have for weapons as a resource. Break the fragments down into a, for a Warframe example, kuva like resource. Use THAT resource to manually upgrade the tier, or reroll the tempers.

it's more that there should jsut not be that many rng layers, especially when we are going to get so many of those weapons in the future. If we can manually create a perfect roll by dumping money in them, then farming them is pointless.
What we need is jsut way tf lower rng, so that farming is actually a good way to do it instead of jsut recrafting
I just don't feel this is a good change at all. Like you said, too much RNG. And no way to control it.
I get that Steve said there will be a "way" to control it via crafting in the future but this system cannot launch without that. If it does it's gonna be a mess. The farming/grinding required to get what you want is astronomical.
And that doesn't address the inventory slots problem for when every weapon is like this. Spots are gonna fill ridiculously fast.
it's a good system, it's just that it's too "deep" for how common it will be.

Yeah, they come in a bunch of tiers that define how much they can roll, though they can still roll under max.
We know that we have Military, Officier, Sovereign and Noble which idk which comes after which, and Moon Steel.
With exceeding rarity and a climbing maximum perk possibility.

There are tiers. Military, Officer, Sovereign and Noble cus I don't know which is after the other, and Moon Steel.
Which also set the maximum amount of possible tempers.

I thought at first the quality tier directly correlated to the amount of tempers on it (instead of max tempers)
And currently the UI does not give us numbers for what said tempers are actually doing themselves.
So we don't know if the tempers strength is set by quality either, technically.

That would lessen the RNG blow. And solve one problem while Steve's comment about "melting down to put tempers onto something else" would solve the 'what tempers you get' issue. Or give you some amount of control over it.

One thing I think is for sure though, this system in P15 should not launch with missing parts. It needs all of it to function properly. It needs the crafting component, etc.

After that you can just fix it if you can change what those tempers are.

But testing the mechanic in of itself right now feels less than stellar because it's missing components. The crafting part that Steve mentioned, for instance.

And even then we'll have to see what that change is. Can you take one temper and replace one temper? Or are you taking a snapshot of a particular temper combo on a weapon and being able to apply it straight to another, overriding all tempers that it has?
Cus if it's the latter, that barely lessens RNG at all.
i think honnestly, that we should also have only 3 tiers. rn, even when accounting the possible rerolls from tuvalkane, this is too much rng for what those weapons are supposed to be.
Also there's a visual bug that joineries on the mace are not showing in the UI

So, I have not been interested in trying out any other combat modes in Soulframe. I have stuck with Archery so far, mainly because i really enjoy ending my opponents from afar. I dreadfully hate CQC, and was wondering which one of you skilled envoys have found a complimentary secondary that works well with the bow?

Top bar is pact xp, bottom bar is equipped/using weapon xp

The bottom bar will swap between secondary and primary based on what you are using
If you want a grace sidearm, daggers are a close quarters option, which while not ideal can be specced to provide invisibility. The other are the flyblades, which are a ranged sidearm with a set and forget heavy attack that orbits you even while using your main weapon

Ah yes. I do have the flyblades. I like the heavy attack option which swirls around you. I just recently figured that one out. I haven't really dived very deep in to the combat. Really just figuring things out as I go.
I am curious. Is there a way to up the damage of your arrow/bow shot, even at a charge?

Pull smites charge your runes, they discharge on a full charged shot for bows
Damage on damage runes is absolutely disgusting at times
In the hard mode, you can also get utility runes that add unique effects per weapon

Ah gotcha. The larger circle. I do believe I have one rune attached to my bow wich gave me an extra slot for one of the spirit animals. Sorry I don't know the actual term, so my apologies for butchering that part up.

It has a DMG boost that makes runes look tame
Heals on kills, attack speed buffs, the works

It's like the previous system now, but shuffling the virtues requires a resource. Your prisms were converted to this resource, and you can get more from agari

The same as the original one but now with a consumable you use whenever you adjust it.
Points are assigned freely via a triangle slider.
Like prisms, but you move a point around in the triangle to select whatever ratio you want.

Faction shop can be accessed at the HQ by talking with the leader and asking "Where do I stand?".
Agari are scattered around, there are maps floating around, and they get marked in Cogah (hard mode potion gained by bringing Vermina to rank 2).
Votives are the missions in the World Trees, which also give rep for the factions (which is the currency).
Sieges are the assailable forts, two near the center of the map and one in the north.
The Organ is a set of three big towers spewing smog, approaching them will start the event.
Crypt is one of the dungeons types.
mage has a heal so needing less healing potions also the mage is kinda just op for utility

Hey, has anybody figured out what changed in the Codex? Before the last patch I had 64/65 discovered foes. Now it says 66/68.
I'm fairly sure the max was 68 before as well, but one of the Sinecure Officer was deunlocked (most likely the one that was linked to Orengall's banneret), not sure what it is linked to now, didn't try to redo Orengall.
Also, I see in the patch notes that a new Point of Interest was added. Any idea what exactly was added? I donât see anything new on the map except for an island I was able to swim to, but thatâs been known for a while.

The Courage ability is spammable, and the Grace one is fairly useful to get backstabs.
Plus, pickpocket can make some farms easier.

Matter of taste, personally I can't stand Orengall's Pact but I like Sirin.
All in all every Pact is viable in its own way.
oh cause for me orengall has the distraction but it attacked and also orengall buff grace so better scaling for bow also first ability on sirin is 2 free insta kills from finisher
now i might like sirin more if my second ability actually worked and grouped them but every time i use it only like one enemy gets agroed by it
Yeah, the Spirit ability has been bugged for a while now.
but my biggest problem with sirin is just
Picktrix powder doesnt really do much
trick of the light- distraction but orengall has wolf whihc distract stagger boost your dmg and do dmg
glamour-one free finisher but orengall gets atleast one or if another enemy is close enough 2 finishers
then orengall also has the howl which buffs grace so better for bows
basically i feel sirin is outclassed in every way by a similar ability from orengall
also its passives just dont feel great to me either

i'm going with sirin everytime since you can also use glamour as vanish/disengage
when you get Flitsmoke rune from cogah on top, you have an insane stealth build
but this requires you to play a shortblade

we love a good loot chase, loot feels kinda boring without that randomness
these perks are fine for me, they're not game breaking and just give you a little bonus
some of those rarer 'little bonus'es add up alot.
Especially when the top tier, which is asburdly rare, has 6 or 7 of them.
Something that is possible but not guaranteed.
Thus not only is there the roll for that highest rarity, but a roll for it to give the maximum amount it can.
The highest rarity can simply roll badly.
So the RNG involved is... intense.
On a system that is being applied to the most basic foundation of the vast majority of weapons everyone will use.
Some people are, understandably, a little concerned.
Kinda need to see how the fusion thinghy works to really judge imo.
I just think 6 tiers of rarity are a bit much, and I'd like each tier to have a set amount.
Like Military always having one temper, Officer always 2, Sovereign always 3, and so forth.
So Moonsteel would have 6, following that, which I still feel is a bit much.
Having 3 or 4 tiers seems more reasonable.
I think the idea is not so much as having them already, but having slots available to fill in with other drops.

The swapping sucks and the perspective needs to be adjusted though.
The fov shifts in combat, including the angle, and my character is constantly directly in the way of my reticle, making it impossible to aim throws.
I have noticed that over the right is far closer to the center than over the left.
You swap shoulders and it just keeps going until your character is a very awkward distance to the right of the screen.
So I think the camera center just got placed a bit too much in one direction, making all that uneven.
I think they added an offset really recently (if you were talking about WF), so that should work better now.

Shooting over the right shoulder with a bow is also jank sometimes, as the body of the bow very often drifts into the reticle, completely blocking your center vision.

Yesterday I was trying out the game and encountered a problem. Many times during combat, when I pressed 3 with the mage, I couldn't use my abilities or do anything else; I could only move or jump. To fix it, I would log out and back into the game. Can anyone help me or explain how to fix it? Thanks đ

Them bringing it to this state feels more akin to a monkey's paw that messes with new players really badly, VS a proper return.

Well, info being communicated to new players, and that the system as is, basically tells them "make one, two and three" if they do know what they're doing, else they have a terrible time trying to actually get envoy rank.
The limited respec with RNG to get the resources (which seems to have horrid drop rates presently, alongside being tied with things that are timelocked between 30 mins for agari to 3 hours for seiges [both not guaranteed to drop]) kinda goes against like, the entire system of how the game wants you to interact with leveling and gaining levels. Unless they want you to swap a whole loadout to level up a stick that can shoot projectile.
Loadout solution is just a worse version of prisms, which like, great, really needed worse prisms, thank you.
I seen a drop from Rovgot Ruins final chest too, so not limited to time gated stuff.
No idea about the drop rate though.

Like, the whole system feels like a horrid monkey's paw answer to people who wanted to go back, and no, saying "they talked about a cost to respec in the past" doesn't make the present situation any better. Because it to me, makes me think that they don't really understand how their systems actually interact, and what the game itself prioritizes the player to do, which is the exact same thing their other active game does, but they're acting like that isn't the case.
Similar is how I feel about the avex being the "melee bow" as a monkey's paw answer to bow melee return requests, a neutered version of bow melee where it only has the heavy attack and nothing else, instead of a proper return to a system that really, IMO, was only a "melee focus" because the bow function of it sucked, which they've fixed with the changes to the ranged attack that isn't the arrow rain which I've always believed was a mistake.

I kinda feel this is because we are in essentially an early test version, I do expect more restriction to be put in various systems, and then loosened up if they feel too restrictive.

The only major change to it that is new unheard of, is literally just tying a cost to a prior method that worked, and unless they're going to change the entirety of progression within the next few preludes (which doesn't seem to be the case, with the main change of p15 being crafting or not, not leveling) it just seems rather heavy handed and again, monkey pawish in a way that punishes newer players to the umpteenth degree, and while I get to sit on a bunch of liths, new players get to ha ha hee hee, suffer.
And it's feeling like a trend with bow melee following a similar thing, of a monkey's paw style implementation, and after several changes over the past 2 years, I have the largest amount of skepticism for how they're executing things.
Even the slots change feels the same in that regard, older players had a comfy start with inventory, so new players needed more, so they give them more inventory... And make it so they cannot use their starting arcs on more slots, and have armor now take up inventory space (which you need to have taken up if you want to have them as transmog)

Hi. What is the meaning of dodge attacks? Is it an attack performed directly after a perfect dodge? With the new update 14.5, there are tempers that grant bonuses to dodge attacks.
I believe if you dodge and then immediately attack, something that is not the first hit of your light chain comes out.
Dodges have their own followup attacks, iirc, and it'd affect those.
Yes, generally they are called Spectre Strike.
Spectre Strikes are specifically the unique animations that happen after a perfect dodge, given you have that skill.
I think dodges also just have standard attacks that are used if you attack right after one.
Even having not perfect dodged through an attack.
Not in-game right now to double check though.

Maybe not for all weapons but they generally flow into an attack that makes sense

From some quick testing with the Mace, Dodge + Attack is one animation, Spectre Strike is another, normal combo is a different one.

Lotus is the internal name for the Engine I believe, it is at the root of a lot of stuff (there is even a Lotus folder in the files).

either the relog or the verify fixed the buggy movement, was very odd like I was stopping and starting my movement even though the key was held

Moonsteel rarity is rare enough that someone walked into the stream and asked if the first guy who rolled one was in chat.
And on top of that it apparently only had 6 tempers, so it was a low roll.

i dont understand this line in the wiki
i did a bit of cogah and got 2 noble maces from that, at level ~45
They all share the same mastery level, you do not have to level multiple of them
but that was out of like 20
It snapshots your Orst level when you enter a loading zone.
And every other Orst will drop at that level, keeping your progress.

if your Orst is lvl 30, all future Orsts you loot will be lvl 30

then keep running it

At World Trees specifically you'll see other Envoy ghosts
You see phantoms of other players near world trees, not what I think they were asking.
No, this is not an mmo, you can see the ghosts of people when near trees like bonfires in dark souls and you can also see people fully at faction hubs, but itâs mostly single player unless you invite people specifically for the time being
I do look forward to more short-form multiplayer.

Level apparently matters very little to not at all.
If you find a dungeon that spawns that enemy, you can run it repeatedly.
Otherwise hunting patrols or camping Gawth works.
Though the latter is every half hour.

Mace Knight patrols, mace bannerets that random spawn or are sparrow tale bosses, and the agari in the center north ruins to the west of the Rot area all drop the mace. Pwn them when you see them.
Nope, just a chance to drop.
No, not all of them drop it 100%.
Do note that you have to pick it up, it is not auto looted.
