It is a bit lacking, at least if you're going full Spirit dump. But the Pensive set was added and is now the best full Spirit getup, and it's pretty darn good.
the wazzard robe for full spirit dump has been pretty good in my experience
It's only a minor difference from Pensive, but like a -5 in Physical and being that most of the dmg in game is physical, I find that more useful 🤷♂️
Right the pensive set is the new best and is also the new best for my courage/spirit setup but I was just saying the wazzard set is another nice set which makes me feel like spirit doesn't really lack good options

hey since weapons technically cap at 5 virtues, isnt it technically more valuable on 3 star weapons to put a thrice blessed joinery on for the virtue thats only 2 instead of the 3?
It's more like there's less options, and Spirit is the weakest of the 3 right now purely because it's 1/2 or 1/4 of the HP, so it feels like Spirit focused armor, especially ones like Wazzard that are only Spirit attuned, should be stronger.
Correct, going beyond 5 does nothing so, no need to waste the Thrice Blessed
interesting. Probably not intended that the minor virtue is the one that people should focus on for weapons like that but at least it increases build variety maybe?

Yeah, it just opens the door for hybridization so you don't have to stat dump for every weapon just to reach attunement cap.
HP should really not be tied to Virtues. If the worry is defense/surviability, or even the focus, then we have a whole section in our equipment menu for just that, called "Armour". HP is a fundamental aspect, just like damage, so why relegate it to Virtues as some kind of subclass/archetype element?
Work on armour and leave HP be so you have a proper baseline and a much better scope for your balance, as the only thing differentiating players now is armour and the rest (ability utilisation, skills, weapons, etc...).
When your HP is too low, no amount of armour is going to do enough, as there is now diminishing returns the higher you go, as HP and defense need to strike a balance. As things stand, something like Spirit is never going to be able to survive and if you build it for an ability that uses that Virtue, which, let us state, is focused on defense, it will become contradictory to the Virtue for the sole reason that your HP is just too low for anything else to matter.
I mean, I think the balance between HP and armor just hasn't been met, and too few enemies pose varying threats to either or. Some encounters should be more challenging for players with high HP but lower armor, and vice versa. But high HP should be balanced with low armor, and vice versa. Instead of the current mechanic of high HP just reigning king simply because, why have less when you can have more 🤷♂️

If they keep HP standardised and focus their efforts on making effective armour, it will be much more balanced for their combat encounters. Players do not need to worry about the enemy one shotting them out of the blue because they decided to run the wrong loadout for the mission, due to how many layers of survivability DE has to keep track of, instead, they have a baseline they can fall back to regardless of their armour values.
Example: I run into this high level encounter with whatever I choose to run. I am not immediately met with a roadblock because I decided to become a glass cannon, nor do I feel too overpowered because I stacked both HP and armour/defense without realising. The gap is smaller, but the intention is the same for players, which is choice and knowledge. Now, when I make a mistake and get defeated, I am not left wondering what went wrong as I got one shot, but instead realise, the main bottleneck is that my defense is too low and I was too careless. It is more intuitive than dropping layers of the same tool that exists to achieve similar results, but now with more to keep track of, all while we expect this mythical balance when DE is known for struggling with balance.
Keep it simple. Keep it stupid. Let complexity stem from player choices of how they can push themselves forward without too much punishment, such as the current double-dipping system they are using for both survivability (HP and defenses), and damage (weapon + Rune + Pact abilities stacking).
If they can pull off complexity for balance, then sure, they can go for HP with defense, with damage, with multipliers, etc... but from all this time telling us how difficult it is for them to balance such a mountain of data and oceans of systems, I simply do not see it as a feasible option currently.
Why come when trying to place a thrice blessed iridid in the alder it doesn’t turn into a golden attunement but just shows all 5

Could be a visual bug. I was under the impression that if it is a mono-Virtue maxed weapon (5 pips), it turns golden border to tell you you both at max pips and running a mono-Virtue weapon. Either it is a visual bug, or DE is not telling it clearly enough.

Alterations of the map? Yes a lot of things are been changed / have changed in the past few preludes. None of them added new trees or required to unlock old trees again
There is a hidden tree on an island at the top of the map but it's unaccessible unless someone brings you there or with oob exploration and it's literally an empty island. It has been there for a lot of patches now

Something else I've seen but haven't confirmed. History motes seem to spawn randomly, but an indicator that at least one has spawned is motes appearing for a moment in place of the diamonds when you near a location. I have not been specifically looking for history motes, but the hunt for them begins soon, seeing as I have now revealed my map.
Funny tidbit regarding motes, if you leave your Journal open for long enough motes will appear on the page and fade the text. It's almost as though they're leeching the ink from the page.

Soulsbane can spawn in any of the white corrupted areas, you can get 1-3 per pickup

Used to be able to walk out of the map and around the shore to it, but invisi walls now. Only way there is to have someone who has it unlocked teleport you there, but it's just an empty island an doesn't do anything for you

Bug report:
- When try to pull smite left over by dead enemies it doesn't add a smite
- on newest siege if push the 2nd boss way into it's spawn area, the doors closes and you cant kill him anymore. Even if you get the keys and complete the siege it will stuck you on the siege completion animation perpetually

Definitely, helps a lot with knowing where to go, and also finding the Motes for all POIs is the biggest source of levelling up your character

Most of the "magic" is going to be just exploring and learning as you go. Plenty of people always happy to answer questions and there's an unofficial wiki and a really good map online, but being that it's pre-alpha and like...1% of a finished game haha, I always suggest taking it slow and enjoying the journey. Pretty easy to burn through the content and then be bored

It's a bug, will fix itself once you relog, and will probably continue to happen each time you uncover a new World Tree.

There's a range which increases with how many points you have in Gravitate. If it's still giving you problems, try troubleshooting by swapping Pacts back and forth and/or relogging

I know this passive was bugged at P14 release but thought it was fixed in a recent hotfix, it's possible it's still broken or was re-broken

Armor pieces have 4 color channels which can all be dyed separately, the way colors apply to those was just changed to be more vibrant as well
As R33SE shows the wood parts don't get dyed, same for the armor set IIRC

i think im starting to hate river peals ive been searching for like 30minutes now and only got 3
I find the most in these areas. Resource nodes seem to share spawn points, and also often spawn/respawn after a short time of your character being near an area, so I find it helpful to run a loop of these rivers and make sure to collect every resource on or right by the river. You can also try running the rivers and relogging

i just mainly hate really tedious grinds like walking around to find one object repetetively
This game highly rewards multi-tasking. If you're doing votives, collect resources as you go. If you're doing sieges, break crates and loot weapon racks. If you're doing dungeons, search all the side areas and puzzles for chests. If you're doing bosses, do all the above haha
i think i just got super unlucky my fist run of the rivers cause after relogging i already picked up like 6 lol

They respawn pretty quickly so you can go back and forth between two rivers
I might have found something pretty big.
I only have data on Purity and Dewelion atm but it seems like their heavy attacks are doing significantly less damage than they should
Dewelion's fully charged heavy attack was doing only 169% damage against crates, Purity was only doing 156%
Shit gets weirder, going from below attunement to max possible scaling on Purity increased the modifier from 156% to 176%
Maybe this is not the kind of game where you fast travel right and left every single minute.
Traversing the map can become tedious before you've built up a small stockpile of Seeds, once mounts are added I'm sure this will be less of an issue but until then some improvements to the fast travel system would be welcome

So you want to allow people to fast travel as much as they want because it's a beta and then DE ends up with no idea how to balance time, space and rng because every testers fast travel for very objectives and then have a broken game AND a shit show when you remove far travel at release ? if I understood correctly using a seed on a tree will unlock travel to that tree for that session, so if you're going to a specific tree a lot you'd only need 1 seed for that session

You have so much to gain for doing camps, charming animals, collecting loot and xp on the way from A to B, but narrow minded people want perma fast traval to only spam X, that's disgusting. Tunnel vision here I come.
I think there's definitely a balance to be found between QoL and keeping the map exploration a core part of the game. It's part of why I think letting us pick dungeon exits would be a good addition to travel.
It would make it easier to plan a route across the island, do a dungeon Votive to get close to a Siege to get close to an Agari etc etc

There was a map of exits for the subterranean fast travel of alca if you want to run through a dungeon instead of in the open

this is the one for p13, some dungeons moved around a bit like north glades but i think most connections are still intact
the fly knives are all pretty fine with courage with a joinery, it is enough to max the damage
I did have some really wonky exits in P14 tbh
Even relogging sometimew went just somewhere elese entirely
I guess using any sidearms and putting a thrice Courage joinerie on it can cap it easily (other stats still somewhat contribute to damage bonus)
yeah i had a few weird ones where i tp'd from vella to near the start when the prelude dropped but it seems to return to normal now

Skilter are Flyblades with Grace/Courage scaling; there's also Grinn which is a Short Blade with Grace/Courage, and Clivers which is a split-sword, also Grace/Courage

I think there is much more entries than exits, because exits can connect multiples entries from different dungeons

Very strange, but they also talked about fast travel updates and they might have just set it so the walking distance between entrance and exit is short just temporarily to see what they wanna do about travel times.

I personally didn't find the Wyrm dungeon spamming quite interesting as the exit is mostly right in front of the entry ; enventually, having dungeon content being made harder to get because it's faster to run to isn't a good gameplay loop

There is "families" ; like longsword, cleavers, and rapiers
All are longsword in term of Weapon Arts, but they do differ in movesets, and even weapons from the same "families" can have some differents moves in their move set ; different throws/heavyattacks and such
But most longsword are quite similar ; yes.

i'd say that'd also be the case for short blade, which are either dual blades, short swords, and daggers
and magick are either staves or wrist bracer
bows are almost all similar, except the avex which doesn't have arrow hail but a stab instead
so yeah... there is "unique" feature in some weapons in each categories, but they still have some dominant traits/moveset and most of them only differ in stats/attunement
Long Blades is the most bloated category of weapon, and we end up with a lot of extremely similar behaving weapons
The new Silistafv staff weapon does also have a different animation set from other staves

You got a grappler, you progress the siege at the top of the one of the castle towers 
There is a passage behind that bookcase but it's an exit not an entrance, leaving a dungeon sometimes puts you in the fort

Indirectly, cap is still 16K AFAIK but there are now items dropped by enemies which you can sell for more standing

the joineries going from "some bonus damage" to "meaningful stats" to "stats plus different attunement" to "no stats but still attunement" kind of left us with.....the same meta as we started with
where hitting an enemy with a weapon doesn't actually make them flinch at all and it just kind of bonks them as if it were made of wood

I understand that perception but that's statistically not true. The bonus damage from Joineries is now granted to the weapons as they level, and since scaling is now increased from adding 1 pip to adding up to 3 we are getting more damage overall
I do think the current state of Joineries needs more work but weapons have increased in power in the long run
the main thing this update removed is lifesteal to be honest
damage is indeed more consistently up
eh, the additional damage is not really that great when bosses just kind of soak hits without reacting to stagger at all
and you can paint the weapons in whatever virtue color you like and probably max the attunement
the systems all work at midlevel but they stop working at cogah scaling because the balancing reflected what we had before
True but that's a result of the boss HP scaling being increased to compensate for Runes, which I do think have missed the mark
For normal enemies the balance is good at the moment

I agree, the current balance means the best way to fight bosses is to farm Rune charges, never use them in normal combat, and dump 4 (or 8) into a boss

That I don't agree with, a hit with an Everflame will consistently do a good chunk of damage
and you only get like, maybe two of them during a boss fight.

Yes Runes only coming from Smite and enemies only being Smiteable once compounds the problem, instead of a back and forth you dump it all at the start since there's no way (outside of Garren's Healheart) to gain more Rune charges
except maybe chair lord because he had high armor to compensate for bad movement

i'm also noticing some runes charge when pulling smites from corpses and some don't which is silly
i can't actually get smite to work with flyblades for some reason

Yes I've noticed the Smites from corpses don't enable Sympathy or Rune charges
there are a few bug reports on both, hopefully it will be fixed soon
while the damage is higher, not having any of the support stats that joineries provided is kind of rough
hard relying on pacts for CC means that you don't have any more soft CC for crowd work
i dont remember joineries providing stagger, but i do miss the block increase and lifesteal it gave
although it does feel like the player is squishier which is not super bad, just different

there are totems that grant stagger bonuses, but imo they are too weak
it seems like a bunch of them were changed from "does something basic and useful" to "really odd niche case"
All the basic useful ones are still there there's just 2 of each now with the second usually being a bit more niche
is thrice blessed useful for anything that already had three base pips, since the cap is five anyway

I'd prefer if Joineries were unified, the weapon type restriction no longer makes much sense imo. There's no functional difference between a Verite Blessed and a Quicksilver Blessed. Just have Verite scale Courage, Quicksilver Spirit and Feybalt Grace

The damage wasintegrated into the weapon as you level it, charge rate on bows was also increased with the change to one of the combat nodes to no longer require a perfect dodge

You equip Runes in your arsenal, right click your weapon and insert it in the middle slot
Runes are weapon type specific so make sure the Rune you got matches the weapon youre using, long blade, bow, etc...

hey a noob question, i just finished to craft my 1 ° weapon( Juniper) and i'm done with Orlick quest, what can i do now? Just lv up and craft gear? Is there any "guild" or party sistem to play togher ? Coz in solo seems a lot boring
There's a few more quests you can find exploring, but mostly it's just farming weapons, armors and pacts and leveling factions
There's no matchmaking (yet) but you can invite and be invited by other players, the Recruiting chat in-game works for this, or #looking-for-group here.
There's a few Fables you don't get by following Orlick's progression as well, namely Shewolf Snared and The Waste Bear, as well as the Duelo, the latest Fable
And a bunch of mini-quests have been added as well, which you can start by finding them at the various World Trees
I love that xD I was doing the third siege yesterday and I used my bird flock attack from Oscelda then my heavy attack with a staff and it yeeted me legit half the map away I cannot replicate it xD

The crackle of lightning, bottled up one's sleeve. Odiac is the mechanical power source of Ode'n casters. Fixed upon the wrists, its rapidly oscillating spheres generate voltaic charge. With no more than a gesture, its master may cast homing bolts of lightning and summon Lectric Shields at will.
Weapon scaling is quite obfuscated right now, basically each "pip" of a Virtue will get you 0.5 damage per Virtue point on that weapon
So a weapon with 2 pips in Spirit will get +10 damage if you have 10 Spirit, a weapon with 4 pips will get +20 damage if you have 10 Spirit
Scaling caps out at 5 pips. Weapons also have a damage cap that you can't bypass.
Deciding how best to increase scaling depends on your plans for builds, you can add 3 pips of Spirit scaling if you're going to use Odiac on mostly Spirit builds, or instead add Courage scaling if you want to use it on a tankier Courage build, or go for adding Grace scaling to use it on a Grace build, etc...

How do I put a rune in? Okay, figured it out myself. Okay, now how do I use a rune in combat? Spectral Sight + Heavy Attack? DOes the game ever tell me this? Why do I have to alt tab out of the game to play the game?

as for there not being any onboarding process, that's mainly because the game is continuously changing in development and is pretty rough. this is typical of this phase of development until the mechanics are decided upon

Game definitely needs more guidance (the most recent update actually added quite a bit with Orlick's new Fable) but it being pre-alpha does make this a bit harder.
The Spectral Sight + Heavy keybind for Rune attacks for example was literally added last week, the Rune and Totem interface and system is apparently changing in P15 as well. I imagine the team doesn't want to spend too many resources making tutorials for systems they know are about to be changed anyway

No, there's just something playing silly buggers between you and the content delivery system. The 'fix' is to disable "Aggressive Download" or "Bulk Download" in the launcher options, or some combination of the two.
Restart the launcher after flipping those settings.

One pretty reliably spawns just south of Comber's Leve else it's on Votives.
There is an infinitely repeatable Bisulcam at the end of the Shewolf Snared fable, just destroy it, collect loot, don't talk to wolf, relog and you start right at that stage again.
Otherwise there's Votives that sometimes give Bisulcam steps.

Bows are by far the strongest weapons : they have an easy way to deal headshot, have an easy way to scale headshot damage multipliers as Bows are Grace (Agility) weapons, and they are at range so extremely safe (and Grace (Agility) is only the second best stat concerning HP pool, after Courage (Strength) and before Spirit (Intelligence) ; and do scale damage bonus from Attunement easier than any other Virtues), and they can also greatly benefit from stealth multipliers on top of that - you just need a bit of skill to deal with curves and travel time, which is quite easy with Keyboard and Mouse, and might be more of a struggle with Controllers ;
So yeah, bows are getting the "middle child treatment" as you say... because they are already OP ; while Melee requires more balancing between damage dealt and damage taken, and all the corresponding mechanics of block, parry, riposte, stagger, dodge, and so on ; and Magick weapons are... hu... underwhelming to say the least.

Technically Rook already does Blunt damage, but it is currently coded the same as Slash.

You don't have level requirements, just need to find the framgents, the blacksmith, and the mats.

Any of those should work (Agari is the in-game term for a type of boss).
Reaper's dungeon is currently a bit southeast of what that map shows if you are going for him.
Yeah, Magick weapons are underwhelming.
So you can play Courage with a lot of HP, and big weapons hitting hard, and really strong armor.
Or you can play Grace with decent HP, good weapons like sword, daggers and bow, and increased headshot damage and stealth, and decent (if not the best) armors.
Or you can play Spirit with the lowest amount of HP, the weakest armor, the weakest ranged weapons that can't even do headshot (but have some situational high attack speed and punchthrough ; which respectively get mitigated by enemy armor scaling and enemy ability to spread around), and little to no bonus from your Virtue (shadowed by Smite innate effects).
But don't get me wrong, playing a Mage is cool for the visual and gameplay style it offers. It does looks and feels nice. It's not that strong yet though ; way too many downside and little to no upside ; which will certainly change in the future with a new Spirit armor set (3 stars) and probably some balance to Virtue, weapons, and Arcanics.

No, there are pacts which are the same as frames, 3 abilities each
The main draw of speccing into Spirit is the reduced cooldown on Arcanics, so it can be fairly strong depending on your Pact.
Can you play with a controller rather than M&K?
Yes, controller layout is even rebindable.
I mean, keep in mind that's also just one person's opinion. Personally I find mage just as good as the others, you just need to know how to use it. True, bows can cheese 99% of the content in game with stealthy headshot multipliers, but a lot of people find that extremely boring. Think playing Skyrim and just crouching around everywhere and one shotting dragons from 5 miles away.
Overall, the most rewarding gameplay with the most "punch factor" is Melee because it has the most variables and, as Dwqrf said, has received the most attention. But again, there's a lot more of personal preference and enjoyment in it, than just maximum damage numbers.
So, the issue with switching builds during your beginner's adventure will be mainly to find new "Prism"; which are like a piece of equipment making your character's stats more leaning toward Courage/Grace/Spirit (so Strength/Agility/Intelligence) ; and without the corresponding Prism, it's kinda of hard to make a good switch without suffering from extreme loss of defense/damage (unless you keep killing level 1 and call it a day).
You have to switch and farm Factions' standings (Enclaves : NPCs towns) to buy new Prism. Once you have a few Prisms, you can switch them around as much as you want to adapt to the gear you equip. But if you start "Archer", you will have a Prism leaning toward those kind of weapons and armors.
Basic Prims can be obtained without even switching as far as I know, you just need to talk to the Faction leader.
Granted, basic Prisms are not great, but at least it is some flexibility to start with.

Correct, you can swap gear/Pacts freely at any time, even make loadouts like in Warframe. The main thing is the time it takes to farm gear and faction standing, and then the timegate of that gear crafting. But realistically you can use all weapon types with all Pacts, and vice versa.

It's all okay. Just have fun, you will find ways to improve your character and the synergies between stats, gear, and weapon, one way or another for a smoother experience.
Is skills and spells ties to weapons and armor?
The main universal knowledge things are:
- Complete the map, you get to MR 13 with that and that means your stats (virtues) go up.
- Loot and harvest everything. You're gonna need a lot of materials, so even while running from A to B, collect collect collect.
- Ask/lookup what the BiS armor is for your current setup, and work towards getting that. Most armor sets have repeatable farming methods, and the sooner you get better armor, the sooner you'll feel like you can complete harder content. (Weapons themselves do have "better" versions but even the starter ones will deal enough damage for most content.)

i'd guess just a side effect of them being included as a "objective" of sorts in the Hark, The Collector votive
Bug, they use the same object entity as the Hark, The Collector's ones.
Going to the nightfold and exiting usually pops them and leave the loot they usually have at the end of the Operation.
Then they disappear "burn up" in bluwe flames wen goingt onightfold.
So ; a Pact (Warframe) is going to give you 3 Spells (Arcanics) ; and the first spell somewhat scale with Courage, the second spell somewhat scale with Spirit, and the third spell somewhat scale with Grace.
But Courage/Spirit/Grace (Virtues) also grant a small passive ; Courage grants a lot of HP, Grace grant better headshot/stealth damage, and Spirit grants a small %cooldown reduction ; all based on the amount of point you have on each Virtue (based on your Prism, so). And some weapon and armor ask you to have X amount of Y Virtue to start getting bonus defense/damage and perform statistically better.
But there is a really important in-game mechanic called SMITE, which allow you to steal the soul of an enemy ; and it eventually does damage, heals you, and also reduce the cooldown of one spell (and later, grant you charges to use Runes, powerful weapon attacks). Smiting is used with all builds you play, it's Soulframe's bread and butter.
The issue is that Smite reduces cooldown by an extreme fashion ; so Spirit's passive granting you a small %cooldown reduction is kinda worthless. So sometimes, as stated above, you'd better scale Courage or Grace to deal great damage with the corresponding Courage or Grace spell, and rely on Smite to reduce its cooldown ; So Spirit isn't really a mandatory picked Virtue for the Mage archetype (unless you want to use cloth armor and a wand)
So far I have killed 2 bosses and have not been able to complete the objective "Kill Agari".

As expected from DE, the system is complicated at best, convoluted at worst. I was having the impression that I scale Spirit stat for Mage, Courage for Warrior and Grace for Archer.

Well, largely that is correct, those are the stats you want for that archetype.
So a Mage will have 1 skill that scales off Courage too, and that is the main damaging spell of that staff?
If playing with a caster heavy build an Hybrid Prims is probably the best choice to scale two Arcanics.
Probably a Spirit/Grace or Spirit/Courage to also get the cd reduction.
But those are kinda meant for later on (Faction rank 4).

Well, if you play a Pact with only one damaging spell which is either Courage or Grace, and you are wholly invested into Spirit, your damaging spell won't be improved except from the ability to play it more often thanks to Spirit's passive cooldown reduction
Do note that the Arcanics are still quite useful when not scaled, so don't feel like you have to scale a Virtue to use the related Arcanic.
OH, so regardless, Spirit is still a direct upgrade towards dps output, you don't hit harder but you fire more spells
Yeah. But the CD of your spell are often quite long, and combat (pack of enemies or boss) are somewhat quite short, so depending on the enemy level and your skill, you most often only play a single rotation of spells within the same fight ; and run between a fight to another while it cools down (-But that's more a personal take on this issue, it may widly differ from one player/pact to another)
But yeah, anyways, Soulframe isn't that much a "spell casting/spam" kind of game, its much more based on weapons, and Utility spells
We don't have Mana, but we have long CD, so you play a few spell, but they do a little bit of stuff (generally)

Well, that's debatable. Generally 1stars have a single objective, 2stars have two, and 3stars have three ; so it feels like balanced in term of time spent for the standing reward it grants ; but you have to know there is some specific drop in 2stars and 3stars as rewards, so I'd suggest ignoring the 1star overall and just go for 2/3 stars.
For me, I just prefer the 3stars, because they are a better journey, and often end with killing a boss, be it agaris, stag/bear, or some dungeons banneret, so you may have some extra loot you might not even know about or not be actively looking for, while also travelling a bit more in the map.

Kinda, Agari spawn in a fixed area, but if you raise the general level with a Cogah potions then they do become stronger.
And more aggressive cause when I fight the stag in the swamp a low level area he's a breeze to kill

Is there any way to guarantee Motes spawning in Rovgot Ruins? Like sometimes I'll be going to a specific area, nothing there and 3min later I go back to the same area and boom, there's a Mote
I've only ever seen motes there once. And I ran it like 20x
wearing the full pensive armor apparently increases the chances of motes spawning (up to 2 per dungeon)
they don't always spawn immediately though

could anyone explain the Vadagar Bear/Stag spawns to me? I still need some stuff from the bear, but I'm having a bit of trouble tracking it down. I've been mostly going around the south part of the map. Where the King is, south of the Wraith and where the new dungeon is. I saw someone saying here that if you relog you can fight it again at the same spot, but that hasn't been true to me. Relogging and going to one of those other 2 spots also has shown no spawns. Even worse if I get the stag instead... Am I just unlucky?
I believe you can only get one bear per night.
So if you fought it before relogging might get you the stag. (that said, if you do get the stag relogging is a valid strategy)
There is also a spawn point in Birdie's Bog and the swamp in the northeast, if you have trouble getting them to spawn at all.
I got all 9 motes in 6 runs, no pensive armor, always spawned in pairs, most of the time I had to run to end and then back track and they'd be spawned in the same room(s) as the mendicant spawns. Relogged after each run with motes.
As others have said it would "appear" that the Pensive armor set increases chances, but, impossible to tell atm, and judging by my experience and others', I'd say it's not a guarantee. You really just have to run all the way through, back track, exit and reload dungeon. Then relog if you do get Motes.
It is possible that the Pensive armor is a placebo and the significant factor is the time delay.
But, for the benefit of the doubt, can't really hurt to have it on.
I will say, I did kill all enemies including the boss, and loot the chest at the end. I believe that some might be missing Motes because they don't spend enough time in the dungeon and the Motes don't spawn. I have a theory that some of the tiles don't actually count as the activation tile for the location. It's like Kairness, how you can be anywhere in the zone and you don't get location/Mote pop-up, until you get close to the gate/town.

I think the motes spawns are locked behind one of Orlick's new quests.
There is also a World Tree east of Wyndoun (NE) that gives consistent Spirit of Ichor tales, mainly bear. The relog spot is right next to it, so you can farm Bear/Stag pretty easily and just relog to refresh the tree.
they are, I just avoided those, maybe that is why as I was just doing votives atm

Unfortunately not really. You can reforge your weapon with a Once Blessed Joinery to add an additional attunement pip (do it when the weapon is lvl 0) and that will help you get to the attunement cap, depending on the weapon and your virtue total/allocation. But the weapon levels quickly, and gains dmg every few levels.

They're basically the same. Espadarte can have like +5 max dmg, that's about it
There is an "attunement cap." It's 1.5x the base dmg of the weapon.

Having more pips does mean you can reach that faster, that said there is also a 5 pips (per type) cap.

Talismans also give bonus Virtues, as do Pact Arts on the upper side.
Potions and Echo Stones also give temporary buffs (10 points for 1h, and 10 min iirc).
As do some abilities.
And there are two changeable virtues currently through Fables, Waste Bear, and Shewolf Snared

The Loadout UI often bugs out, specifically with Pacts but sometimes with Prisms too. If something doesn't look correct, just exit/re-enter Nightfold and it should fix itself

The mote spawns on a significant time delay, take your time killing every enemy in the dungeon, the backtrack from the Wyrm spamming Spectral Sight + Pull Smite.
While unconfirmed and might be placebo, current theory is that wearing the Pensive set makes the spawn more common.
Relog after every run where you gain motes.
One other tip is go through the dungeon as normal and then backtrack after the boss, the motes seem to take a little bit to actuall spawn

first time i encounter this puzzle o_o there's a door behind the waterfall but i can't seem to get it to open
there's like two buttons on each side you can press which raise the pillars you see in the picture but apparently there's something else
After hitting the two buttons on the sides of the door look on the wall on the other side, behind a tree, there should be a third button.

Which smite increase totem is the best one for Flyblades - The Ambling, The Flurry or The Messenger?
(I'm using Picktrix so I can only use one)

Assuming the old Perfect Throw orbit ones now work on the charged heavy it's The Flurry I believe
If not it's The Messenger
Also Messenger works on every hit not just charged orbit so
they yeeted perfect throw from flyblades to fully charged iirc

They are currently going through some updates and will likely be addressing name changes in the future (if applicable to the changes)

If two objectives are completed/completing at the same time it will often bug out, usually the case when one of them is a "slay the corrupted creatures" because Ode can accidentally complete it for you. Afaik there's no way to fix it other than abandoning the votive.
To be safe, always do the Slay the Corrupted Creatures step

is there a limit on how many times i can smite a single agari? i was using low dmg precklies in cogah and only triggered one smite on a boss, and couldnt get smite to trigger again despite trying for a few mins

weapon level doesn't really mean a whole lot if you just have the damage in the first place to deal with the enemies
You can still kill them, it will just be slower kills, which means slower XP, so there's probably an optimal range based on how much dmg your weapon can do. I'd say start in the middle and then push NE
heavy units will give 2 rune charges yes, but afaik it's only 1 smite instance per enemy
it is possible to still survive once you get dodging and parrying down! But also, enemies have high armor, so starter weapons will struggle unless you always do charge attacks to semi-bypass
But the vast majority of the damage come from weapons, no?

Drops from Vadagar Bear, along with Arbearer armor. Easy way to farm it is, there's a World Tree east of Wyndoun (NE) that gives consistent Spirit of Ichor tales, and the relog spot is right next to it, so you can just farm endlessly.

Spirit of Ichor tales can be both Stag and Bear. You can refresh them by relogging. That specific tree seems to be more weighted to Bear.
These boxes possibly have an script to be breakable when in mid air during collector bounty, but are not breakable on ground

Depends how you like to learn. There's patch/hotfix notes which have all of the general details. You can just explore and learn for yourself. Or you can drop questions in here/Q&A chat in game.
A lot of the new content is pretty exciting and might get spoiled for you if you get too much info up front, but some of the major mechanics of the game are totally different than they were before. But now Orlick in Nightfold offers some "tutorial" quests, which can help put you on the right path.
Struggling to find the history motes at Salzbrim, am I missing something? Tried relogging/leaving the area and coming back later. Still nothing.

One thing that helps greatly is turning up the FX Intensity in Accessiblity settings. Aside from that, Motes can spawn anywhere in the area, including inside buildings, near or inside lanterns, sometimes even crates can obscure them. So it's just a matter of searching high and low and making sure to stop and pivot your camera in a full circle before moving on.
Hmm, it's possible that the recent Votive changes have made Spirit of Ichor more rare, or maybe they moved trees. Let me hop in game and see

There's 1000% some kinda seeded weighting or something to the votives, it's not just pure RNG
one day it'll be nonstop spirit of ichor and 100% stag rate (i killed 100+ in one day without seeing a bear)

i do know some specific tales have a higher chance of appearing on certain trees than on others
the rng for most things in this game clearly isn't just a random percentage chance on everything

Yeah, generally it's location appropriate, ie. a Crypt tale isn't going to spawn far away from a Crypt.
At least I gained a decent amount of resources doing it, I guess
