Sinecure Officer, actually Styne from Shewolf Snared (the one that come out of the Bisulcam), you have limited time to pull off a Smite (half a second more or less).
Orengall 3, Smite totems, and Smite Arts are highly suggested.
Relogging before talking to Orengall resets the fight to get the multiple scans.

After rigorous testing the Scholar's Charm (Auto Charm) isn't broken, its just stupid.

It is indeed a chance for it to trigger, not a guarantee. But since you can just release the animal with ESC and then try again it is basically guaranteed with extra steps.
DE should just make it 100%
And if you still for some reason want to do the minigame, make it a toggle in the settings or something.

The ones in your inventory are likely Fragments that you still need to craft before you can use them, once crafted (it does take real life time, a day for Pacts) they'll be in the "Assembled" tab at Tuvalkane

Once claimed there you can swap to the new Pact in your arsenal

It was fine before the most recent hotfix difficult yes but definitely something you can manage. The boss HP changes in hotfix 4 have made it quite a bit harder though, still doable (especially if you save up your Rune charges) but a lot harder

Definitely check your armor spread, the bosses all deal magical damage and most standard armor spreads lean more towards physical defense

And sometimes the markers on the map don't clear even if you have no active quests. Easy way to tell is to relog, and it should wipe anything not actually active

Auto charm is always a perfect charm, which means it gives the maximum amount of harmony (but no bonus harmony from the bonus harmony notes, at least as far as I can tell)

DPS is nothing to write home about, shield toss doesn't have the same consistent knockdown capabilities, and the block is kind of worse than a bunch of other weapons because S+S doesn't have the weapon art where you can even block "unblockable" attacks.

IMO, not a terrible weapon class if you really want that S+S fantasy, but nothing to write home about.

There's one very specific build using the Durglint rune forged with Gildaur and Garren Rood to charge Durglint to crazy levels. But even that doesn't work anymore with the bizarre joinery changes (no more lifesteal on hit).

Check recruitment channel, people will often post stuff like "H arena" or "lf arena". Arena is a specific room in a specific dungeon, that spawns lots of high xp yielding enemy. It used to be endless, now it's around 20 waves which can level your weapon up from 1-25ish I believe. Thats what people use to power level.

I run with most of the first group disabled, and the second group on a low setting, which allows for high FPS and little to no stutter, but maintains a fairly high graphical fidelity. The best way to test which ones you "need" is to reduce most of the settings and begin enabling/enhancing individual ones to see if you notice much of a difference, or if you care about the difference. Disabling/reducing any settings you don't need will get your desired result.

You can get every thing in game for no cost. The only restriction is that Pacts and Weapons have limited inventory slots, and the only way to get more currently is by using premium currency. But, you can use the blacksmith to hold all your crafted weapons, just don't claim them until you're ready to use them.

Sure! You can reforge a weapon with a basic Joinery (Blessed by X) at any level, this will increase its scaling by 1 pip in Courage, Grace or Spirit, this consumes a Joinery and some resources and dracs

Once a weapon is max level (at level 30) you can use a Twice Blessed or Thrice Blessed Joinery to increase scaling by 2 or 3 pips, this resets weapon level to 0

Verite, Quicksilver and Feybalt are applied to Melee, Ranged and Magick weapons respectively, while Gildaur can be used on any weapon type

As a note, since the most recent Preludes max scaling for a single Virtue is capped at 5 pips, which is represented in the UI as a Virtue symbol with a golden border

Look for a ghost in the undercity. Use a Sword, Bow, or Staff. When in the undercity look for a blue dot on the map. When nearby, soul sight to find him, then smite to absorb him. When you leave you'll get a rune for the weapon type you have equipped (sword, bow, magic) guaranteed.

It's always possible that you can experience a "bug" but, no, they're not currently bugged, just a decently low drop rate. If you already have Cenotaph from the boss, it's best to just farm the first spawn area, leave by entrance, and reset.

Duelo + Blitzel and Clivers with the ||Flintsmoke|| rune is pretty neat

or any dual blades with that rune really, with the duo duelo plus the stealth attacks, the quadruple backstab spam is great

only using bow because I normally would run primary dual blade and sidearm flyblades and i want something to weave in there. I don't normally like using bows (i'm bad at aiming with controller) but I just have blitzel because arrow rain is a nice opener for enemy debilitating and smite procs in a large group of foes

What bosses were you told this about? Vatagar bosses respawn at night but a spawned one can be fought whenever, and they have spawns across the map. Agari respawn on a 30 min timer regardless of time of day and can always be found at their usual location.

The Vatagar bosses, the stag and bear, spawn out of a little goop puddle, which is how you spot them as it's an obvious spawn point once you've seen it once, but that's it. They aren't linked to the actual corruption zones for spawns.

once you have a charge (visible in the lower right), you hold Q (spectral sight) while doing a heavy attack, which activate the rune

It just means that currently you encounter the same enemies in the same positions, and it feels like repeating the same day (a reference to the film Groundhog Day).

The change they want to make is to introduce some randomisation, so you won't always see the same Sinecure Officer at the top of the same set of steps, etc

Melee (Tethren) is kinda easy mode because it has baked in dmg+defense buffs and passive healing, but melee combat will take some getting used to, of course.

Magick (Oscelda) is very beginner friendly, as Flexicution said. But magick is the weakest of the 3 in terms of HP.

Ranged (Sirin) is easy to cheese most content because you can just long range headshot everything, but the "class" (Pact) is lackluster and on the low end of usability.

You can freely change your gear and Pact as you collect more, though, so you're only stuck with what you start with for the first portion of the game.
