You do yep! Idk if you've ever played Warframe before by any chance? A lot of loot in both it and Soulframe uses RNG (random number generator) to determine whether you will get a drop: https://wiki.avakot.org/RNG

So a core loop of the gameplay grind is repeating certain bosses or encounters, to grind for the loot you want to find

Ahh it's kind of like the components, I think you are always guaranteed to get 'a drop' from his pool when you kill him. It's just that he has more stuff in the pool than only his staff. Similar to how the warframe bosses tend to have 3 different warframe parts

To fight him again, make sure you're thinking of the Wraith of Wastes not the Wazzard (wazzard is just the story encounter). Wraith is at Sidae's Stake, and he's an Agari, which is a type of miniboss that respawns every 30mins on a cooldown

There are technically three choices if you wish to become a founder, as Esthelle comes with one of the founder's packages making it the 'easiest' to get but, in terms of in-game acquisition I'd say Odiac for sure is not just the best but also easier to obtain through general/passive gameplay (whereas Basker has to be focus farmed a bit more intentionally)

Oscelda, use a bow like Juniper, either rune (torrent is better), increased smite chance utility totem (additional if you're using Alca's breath), AOE rat (and armor strip on arrow hail if you're using Torrent).

Runes can be stubborn. It's taken me over 100 boss kills to get some runes. Others seem to drop much easier. But, other people seem to have probles/luck with different runes.

So I finally got around to messing with the flintsmoke rune.
Absolutely busted AF. It's fun, so I don't really want to see it nerfed, but I can also solo most of the raids now without sounding an alarm, and if I don't kill one of the bosses on the first sneak attack I can just keep spamming it until they die.

Not for percentage of damage the totem will do. For the combat damage numbers, they'll matter, along with everything else that factors into damage. But a rank 3 bow rat AOE totem will always do the 30% of whatever the damage calculations are for the hit enemy.

If you hit the enemy for 100 damage, the AOE rat will proc 35 damage to nearby enemies.

Rat totem doesn't care how you shoot the enemy. IT's just 30% of whatever damage you do to said enemy. Headshot, foot shot, arrow hail, charged, quickshot, bestoned target, greybar enemy, it don't matter. It's always 35% of whatever the individual hit does.

Multi-hit attacks cause an AOE per hit.

The Beaver I've got for Torrent is dependent on arrow hail, though.

There are no classes, just gear. Pacts are the closest thing but they just have 3 abilities and a couple passives that give some different actions in combat. You can get everything just by playing, you're not a 'class' or anything like that

I’m three minutes into the game and it’s already going wrong so I’m trying to make sure it’s not going to turn into me just uninstalling. The Q/A section in the game says I’m not qualified to use it, so I cannot get any in game assistance. I’m just trying not to have my gameplay in a pact I don’t want to play. I tried all three at that tester menu and accidentally selected the only one I didn’t want to pay as at all.

Understandable, but that's unfortunately not how DE set up progression in their games - you have to master every single pact in order to level your character up, or you won't achieve improvements to your core stats (virtues)

If anything, you're able to get one of your least favourite pacts out of the way first which you could view as a good thing!

But if you really want to start as a different one, and save levelling oscelda for later, and you don't want to just go farm another one now, then like Wagiii says you can make another account with another code I guess

You chose to start with some mage-themed starter gear, but it doesn't mean you're a mage or something - just some gear you start with. You can get all the rest through playing the game as well

That starter gear has also started you in the Alca's Children Enclave, but you can switch those on the fly and they have nothing to do with who you can play co-op with

You can go out and find a sword, or a polearm, or anything you want. And more arms, you can (and technically need to) collect them all

To clarify, stat distribution is dictated by the Prism, which you can switch once you gain the others.

Skills are dictated by the Pact, which you can also switch freely once you gain them. (though you have limited slots to hold crafted Pacts)

You should put a Joinery on that.

You do not need to wait till 30 unless you are adding a "Blessed" Joinery.
Don't use a "Blessed" joinery until you know what you are doing.
The rest of the time stick a Polished Guildur on everything you don't have a reason to stick something else on.

Assuming that means "Defense" and not "physical armor" in which case it wouldn't help your magic weapon unless it said it reduced magic armor/defense. Which for the player is a seperat stat.

You should find a tombstone around 100/200 meters from the tower iirc, there is a chime sound cue when you are close if you activate Spectral Sight, so might want to spam that.

The Organ is quite nice imo if you don't actually finish the first phase, but not the most efficent.

You used a "Gilduar blessed by Saphine" on that weapon. "Blessed" are rare and require the weapon to be level 30, and then the level gets reset when you use them.

The 'Polished' versions will add the same bonus stats, without the extra virtue point, without having to be level 30 and without having to reset the level. So you can add a Polished, Tempered, or rusted (only use polished), to any weapon without much worry, but don't use the "Blessed" ones except to improve your favorite weapons. Be sure of what you are increasing when you use them.

World Trees now have your missions. Though the mission NPCs show up near the end of your mission to offer you the next one so you don't have to run back to the tree.
