Prisms for graces are mistake. Points are fine, people aren't dumb. Baldur's gate 3 was played like crazy and no one's head exploded from having to assign points and pick perks and no ones brain exploded.

im guessing everyone else unanimously loves this update but i kinda dislike it so far, the new system for virtues just feels kinda meh. i much preferred being able to choose my stats, especially now that weapons and armor demand a specific stat. before i liked that i could equip the circade armor and be a mage class, but now im forced to pay up real money to get moonsteel, and am forced to use the boring first armor set. feels pretty terrible to me

yeah i dislike that. especially if i want to be a pure spirit oscelda wielding purity for example. id much prefer being able to just use any weapon i want, and choose its exact attunements to match my class. especially since the joineries are kinda tough to get. i dont want to sacrifice my classes playability just to wield the weapon i want, especially with the limited selections for weapons. plus the new system makes most of my armor totally worthless to my class, too.

messing around in the settings some more- changing DX version didn't stop it, but the setting giving the weird texture is Dynamic lighting. Which when toggled off, makes the sun shine through parts of your skin....weirdly. I guess i just have to pick the less weird shadow effect.

I'm unable to come up with any meaningful in-game experience based opinion because I've been putting off progression due to how grindy it is as a new player.

But conceptually, I'm not keen on "regressing" to a class based system of old RPGs.

The bad news is that the bulk of this game and Warframe IS the grind. If you don't enjoy farming everything, leveling everything, and the relevelling it for new options, the game will quickly lose the appeal imo. But yeah, the new system is a step back, when it was intended as a step forward. unlucky, but i believe we are in for more change to that soon.

Yeah I'm not sure of what the right word to describe my feeling is, hence the air quotes on regression. It's a very strong word but in my defense I'm tired and grumpy at the moment. I'm sure they can figure out a direction eventually, but with the systems as they are right now, it conceptually feels like a fight between abilities and weapons versus the prior patch where (outside of courage being functionally the right stat to invest in), gear mostly worked in tandem with abilities.

Seeing Courge warrior cast magic ranged weapons was broken. There had to be classes for better balance.

And for what it's worth, I'm not opposed to the grind. I've been playing Warframe for close to 13 years, it's just that the slower pacing plus the faction missions being very repetitive (not a criticism, I know it's a work in progress), bundled with not a very clear material acquisition process, it can make the early game experience quite one note.

Conceptually, I'm not keen on old school RPG concepts like "rogues are dextrous stabby types" and "mages are glass cannons". I just think that detracts from the whole concept of roleplay.

Each equip has a primary (on the left) stat and a secondary one if present (on the right).
If you met the requirement for the primary stat the equip start to scale with both.
Otherwise no scaling and only base damage/armor.

Mixed: melee combat feels MUCH better, I love organ, I like the visual customizations. Haven't gotten any of the new weapons. I am mixed leaning to disappointed by virtue system. I like the new scaling on archanics, but Grace still feels incredible situational and weak. My reservation about not being able to hit breakpoints on many weapons with virtue prisms are very much happening (with the prisims. I have so far at least). I feel like I have way less choice on what weapons can go with a given build (especially now that all weapons of a type use the same virtue). Prisims makes this feel worse because I frequently am like 1-2 points away from hitting an atunement threshold and there's no way I can grab those points from another stat...

They got a lot right, they're clearly working on many things at once and the game is moving in a good direction. Personally I would scrap the prisims, return to multiple weapons in a given family using different virtues, keep the scaling (but add something else to grace) and let that system bake for a while. But its not my game so...

Still a good game, P13 by no means ruins things and makes a lot of things more fun, but we have only a few build combos now and that's not as good.

I think CDR is the wrong way to think about it actually. It feels more like cooldown acceleration, with 3 spirit being CD x 1.0 and 36 being CD x 2.0 and each point of spirit adding 0.03 to that multiplier.

I maxed out the only weapon that seems useful to me, crafted everything I could that is useful and that I have, and leveling up the faction to the maximum is not fun, the quests are all the same.

And finishing all the side quests in the game doesn't interest me, I think I've finished the main quest.

Those big towers in the map are a multi step boss fight, well an activity, pretty fun to try, and if you end up enjoying it you can farm it for a cool armour set and weapon.

But as always my greatest advice is, if things aren't feeling fun or fulfilling anymore, there is absolutely nothing wrong with putting the game down for a while 😄

One thing I love about how the devs do updates is when they add structures to the world that tease upcoming content, like having the organs appear before we got the activity, and seeing the new statue at the northeast stronghold

I guess you know you are playing an alpha (for me is a beta but we have that joke with the development xD), so if you feel you finished the content is probably because you already did. When a friend come to ask me about playing SF I dont recommend put many hours tbh, because the endgame is too grindy for my taste. Take some break between preludes and wait for launch to find a more finished game.

i've been playing for 2 days, definitely easier than souls; you can play around positioning rather than trying to i-frame through attacks if you prefer that (though you can build for a more challenging playstyle like armor-stripping with parry)

there kinda is and its automatic to the emeny you hit its really stupid should be manual

the combat feels amazing now, though! haven't played in some time

tehre are times i am trying to disengage and my character wont turn around cause they are locked on an enemy

yeah it has some kind of soft lock going on there; it should be some kind of setting to either have it automatic, or manual, like in souls games
