its like duelo, i always give them some time at the start out of respect for the fight

wyld doesn't have higher stats, BUT if you level both the wyld and normal versions, their upgrade points are shared up to 60 when both are max, and shiner style

hello there! I having a hard time getting the motes to spawn at the Rovgot Ruins... is that normal?

but I keep spawning at the tree when I re-log
I didn't face any issues tbh with the motes
if it's let's say 1 out of 3 motes available I keep searching until I find it
then log out and log in and if it spawned me near that spot I make sure to walk far away from it and come back until the name of this area pop up in the middle of my screen with the motes available

The motes spawn, but reportedly only a short while after entering for some reason, so some bugginess is likely afoot.
It's a time farming them.

It's recommended to backtrack and search the dungeon again after clearing it.
I just waited 10 minutes at the entrance, ran it slowly, then relogged after exit and repeated.
Eventually got them all that way.

The first two runs I had made I started from the Boss room, and I got the motes, but after the dungeon showed in the map, I had sarted at the dungeon entrance in the map and never got a mote again, but I just started from the boss room again and got a mote

I just waited in the first room every time to make sure they had time to spawn.
But whatever works, either way it's a pain.
I been saying this since the beginning lol, pretty sure only the boss room or maybe one of the end rooms triggers the Motes. Think of it like the gate at Kairness.
I can confirm that isn't the case, as again, I just waited in the first room every time.
Then I walked through while checking rooms and got all my motes that way.
Without backtracking, just from start to end.

I would be kinda surprised if the current customization for the most part isn't just a placeholder, expect the hairstyles. Since this game has a lot more focus on our own character, so it makes sense to have more options or at least same options as our Warframe Operator, which we only use a fraction of the time 😄
Also colour options for armour and hair would be nice, I accidentally changed my hair colour and can't get it back to the original one now.

you start with one ability at rank 0, while leveling up you unlock the other abilities and rank them up

Personally I've never been a fan of enemies just scaling to player level, as it diminishes your sense of progression and can even punish you just for climbing higher, as it's now harder to use new weapons or even just not the best ones.
It's better to just have areas with meaningful endgame content.
Rather than have enemies everywhere inflate.

you can have enemies slightly inflate based on your stats but still make it area dependant
bc going to areas with lvl 20 or below enemies isnt that fun tbh we just 1 shot all of them
That's every game though, and is fixed by having more areas at higher level, which the game will eventually. We are, after all, only on the very first island.
You will eventually leave areas behind in pretty much every game ever, at least RPGs.

that's why you make the scaling around something that will work around that. in our case, we have virtues that do most of our number work. make enemies scale around that and poof, problem solved

So that means you can't really play with friends who are newer and thus much lower MR than you.

Cus it's never felt nice to have your progress invalidated like that.

again, we have ONE save, we cannot reexperience previous content, and all the good that will be there will be lost once you outscale it.

You know, this game reminds me somewhat of DS2, because they've scaled the defenses quite well. It's something I feel FromSoftware will need to improve in their future installments. Regarding the armor-to-defense ratio, DS2 is the best, DS3 the worst. I feel Elden Ring is somewhere in the middle.

I feel like the biggest thing that's lacking is scaleable difficulty. If I'm farming a boss, I find it can sometimes be quite hard to farm them, especially if I'm using an unleveled weapon or whatever, but there's times I want to group up with friends and take on a raid boss, and then with the extra healing and aggro pull they can be a quite easy.
The biggest thing that's lacking right now is any actual endgame content cus we're effectively in the early game tutorial section, given that it's a pre-alpha lmao.
People are asking for endlessly repeatable content far too early. Such things will come in time, though that time is far later than now.
chlo, i feel like you are not listening. you talk about people moving on, but it's never something that was said. people leave thsoe content because they outscale it. they can't have good fun in them because they can't feel engaged by it when they 2 tap everything.
and the irony is, with NOT having scaling, you actually get people leaving out of boredom BECAUSE the only content they can play and be engaged with is the latest thing.
That doesn't mean that they need to introduce more systems to adjust the dificulty of a boss, but adding very hard raids and some maybe interesting farmable enemies that give useful stuff for when you're vibing would go a long way imo.
You are assuming everyone else's motivation is identical to your own, which is again entirely subjective. If I had content that I was vaguely bored with, it constantly biting my ankles with scaling and forcing me to build competitively would annoy me faster than otherwise, and I'd leave it the first chance I got when I got everything I needed from it.
People get bored of PvP games with perfect matchmaking where you play at exactly the right skill level all the time, it's not a matter of outscaling things, people just get bored of things.

And the old content always will see some playtime every now and again when leveling things or just for vibes. There's a lot of content in warframe I've played through for fun, or because I needed an item and I thought it would be fun to use a more level appropriate build.
That's where modes like Cogah come in, such that the entire game doesn't constantly scale to you and deprive you of something early to come back to when trying something new, or just less than the best.
The solution is not to make the entire game snap at your heels at all times.
Isn't adding new content more time productive than adding a scaling feature that very few people will use? I mean I agree that new content can often burn you out if you're trying to grind it for the new items and whatever, and that's something that's gotta be scaled.
And personally I like coming back to easier areas where I used to struggle and can just stomp through it, feels very satisfying.
And particular content like bosses can always be used again later in another activity. Hell I think we should eventually have some Cogah-induced horde mode or boss rush, which could solve that.
Such things are usually very repeatable too.
it works in tandem. by having old centent still being enjoyable and engaging, it serves as a padding for develloping new content. it makes it so players can do something else while staying engaged. And that, in return, lets you actually put more care into new content, since not only do you have more time to make it, but it will also be a justifiable thing to help with future content. You stop having to rush releasing the one new gamemode or mission every so often because everything gets overplayed. you get to make stuff to last rather than be effectively be dispopsable once you got everything from it
because, like, what's the point pouring all your talent into new content when you know no one will touch it in 3 months because that's all they could play and are now sick of it
Then there should be scaling content, but that content should not be the entire game. You should not deprive basic areas of their basicness, because it feels bad to not have a place to go back to to chill. Such as, again, leveling new things, trying new things, experimenting, etc. You can have scalable modes, like Cogah, which will probably be expanded in the future, or modes like horde or boss rush, any number of things that can use things from older content without affecting that older content directly.
Constantly scaling the entire game to your level isn't the answer.

My minor obsession as of late is Igne Mora becoming one of my favorite weapons again.
The new horizontal 4-hit combo that basic longblades have combined with its length make it a dead angle paradise.
I'm hitting people slightly behind me to either side, it's great.

Idk, I'm just tryna say that the combat pace and general movement feel feel very similar to souls games, at least to me, while also emphasizing that in every other way it is entirely different.
Moving, swinging, dodging, being hit, it all feels very similar in speed, rhythm, and feedback. The action economy is similar.
hmm. i've been playing silksong recently and i'd consider that game a proper soulslike. boss fights are heavily weighted in favor of the boss, the player is the underdog, and it has some rpg elements (gear, some simple stat progression, more akin to a zelda game than a souls game)
progression is zelda-esque but combat is souls-y
fair. i haven't really played them, so i don't know how far the rpg elements go into them
tho, to describe SF, i'd jsut call it a "tsushima-like" 😛
i didn't play the original hk but i have got a good few hours in silksong, and while i've heard it's more punishing than its predecessor i don't think it's all that different mechanically. you get different combat abilities, gear items you collect throughout the playthrough, and you can upgrade your health and magic. it's a simpler rpg than, say, elden ring, because you don't have like 12 stats to balance and there's not really a proper leveling system, but it does have gear progression and upgrades
but i think it does fit under the broader rpg umbrella, just maybe not an arpg? i dunno.

about the scaling stuff, i used to play a gacha game called guardian tales that had the "new content is harder than the old content", at the start it worked perfectly, but the years passed and then for example the minimum power required to join a guild was around 10 million dps, still good maybe, but now i saw a recent post that requires players to have like 500 million to 1 billion and it mindboggles me, like maybe it has no correlation but it reminded me of that
like with that power the early content is pointless, and the end content is too crazy

i mean, i don't know how those numbers mean, but in a way, yeah, it's kinda both powercreep and lack of scaling put together. old content becomes a waste of space if you can't replay it in a satisfying way
if i remember correctly it had these raids where you go with 3 of your teams to fight 4 bosses and deal the most amount of damage in a minute, and guilds ask for a minimum of daily damage, like what i said about 10 million dps
one team does 4 million, the second does 3 million, and the third one does 4 million for example
and that's how you measure your damage and power basically
i played like 2 years before so something may have changed
for a gatcha game tho, content longevity is lowkey a bad thing, since those games are fuelled by the constant push to get more and more new rare things

Parrying both is and isnt easy in SF the problem is that even after they "fixed" it its still got issues and jank. But it is better
parrying is like a 3x damage boost

unsure if they'll do full soulslike-like combat, but i definetly think combat needs some tweeks.
even duviri combat feels more responsive with its parries TwT
do 250% damage bonus rune, and the tethren 1 ability going to like 880%+ damage bonus with that 3x

there are enemy combo that can be parry chainged, but u do get a lot of weapons and spells to use, so u dont need to rely soley on parry.

if it's an ode though, i dunno, as a musician i feel like i'd be particularly susceptible to spellsong, i might not make it out of there with my mind intact

The last dungeon (in Soulframe) I did with some buddies was the Spider one
nothing in the game requires co-op, but you can do it
so I guess just do what I did last time, which was kill the spider and spiderlings
With enough Git Gud ™ you can do any boss at any level.
