they belong to the number 1 networking company and they offer free networking courses, advanced ones too

packet tracer can also be a good tool to practice networking on a more raw and vast scale since labs are good
but they aren't providing an understanding for physical cable connections, which ones to use in particular, vlans and switch trunks, STP, etc

Specifically, is real-world network exposure essential for a pentester? Would a fresher face challenges in his career if he starts in pentesting without taking up a network role? I’m confused between pentesting and IAM, as I cannot take shift-based roles—so NOC/SOC positions are not an option. Network roles mostly NOC for freshers. I’ve seen pentesting roles for freshers, but I’m unsure about the IAM market. Should I start in pentesting and later move to IAM, or go straight into IAM?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently thinking of going for Network+, HTB CJCA, and HTB CPTS for pentesting and for IAM I am thinking of taking up SC 300 and Okta Professional.
