OwlSec is a community. Our goal is to forge an educational, inclusive, and secure environment where learning thrives and networking with peers propels your professional and personal development. Active engagement, whether through resource sharing, participating in discussions, or contributing to collaborative projects, is highly encouraged. Below, you'll find our server rules, which are crucial in maintaining the integrity and safety of our community.
1️⃣ No Trolling!
We have a ZERO-TOLERANCE policy for anyone trolling in the following ways, but not limited to: Spamming, Baiting, Impersonation, Phishing, Flame Wars Initiation, Misinformation, Excessive Tagging, Raiding, Voice Channel Disturbances, Inappropriate Content Posting, Manipulating Reactions, Ghost Pinging and Race Baiting.
2️⃣ **No Harassing Members of the Community! **
Harassment, whether as a joke or as playful banter, is prohibited in the OwlSec server. This includes but isn't limited to threatening, obscene, defamatory, condescending, libelous, racial, religious, political, sexually objectionable, or bigotry content. Please do not bring prior issues to the community or outside issues that may cause friction. When commenting about others' content, ensure your criticism is reasonable and constructive, especially in a place with other members, as we are all in this community to hear the viewpoint of various experiences.
3️⃣ **No Unethical Activities or Discussions! **
Under no circumstance will any user aid any other user in helping to perform illegal activities such as hacking anyone or anything without consent. Additionally, vigilantism against criminals is considered unethical behavior and will not be allowed in this server.
4️⃣ **Keep Our Server Safe! **
Distributing pornographic, offensive, uncomfortable, or NSFW/Sexualized content will not be tolerated. Harmful content (such as viruses, pornographic or violent content) has no place in this server or the DMs of our users. These rules extend into profiles, bios, status messages & pronoun text boxes. Sharing content deemed harmful results in an immediate and permanent ban. Discussions of topics which may be deemed too inappropriate will be interrupted by staff, users are expected to change the topic.
5️⃣** Stay on Topic! **
Respect the purpose of each channel and keep conversations on topic. An example of this includes not streaming or talking about gaming in an entertainment way in non- gaming labelled rooms. If conversations break down into back-and-forth arguments staff will intervene. If the conversation continues after a staff warning, action will be taken against all parties involved in the argument.
6️⃣ **No Cheating! **
Cheating of any form is not allowed. The exchange, linking, requests and providing of cheat software, cracking software and or the methods of accomplishing it for games and software is strictly prohibited.
7️⃣ **English is the Primary Language! **
This server’s primary language is English; this is to allow for easier communication between members and easier moderation of content. The encrypting of text / talking in machine language is not allowed. (This does not apply to showing lines of code relevant to active discussions)
8️⃣ **Respect the Staff! **
Admins, Moderators, and Community Managers are here to ensure that we maintain a fun and safe environment. Please respect the decisions and instructions of the staff. For any concerns regarding the moderation of our server or to file a complaint, please place a Ticket for review. All complaints are reviewed by higher staff. We take all complaints seriously and police any form of retaliation.
