I'm using Metasploitable 2 for study purposes, and I want to go beyond just exploiting it. I want to practice the full cycle: exploitation -> persistence -> patching, and so on, for each vulnerability I find, to learn as much as possible.

Does Metasploitable 2 reset everything when I shut it down? Or do I need to manually clean up files and persistence mechanisms I set up in order to explore other vulnerabilities?

it will not detect you internal wifi card, even if it could, your internal card isn't capable of the stuff you want.

Also, you can safely skip wifi hacking entirely, the videos are staged to work, it has next to no real world applicability

I’m almost certain they’re in my phone and that’s how they’re gaining access. There are other things with networks going down simultaneously, phone battery always dead and overheating. They seem to be well aware of my online movements as well as showing up in random locations where I am with my phone. Police won’t help until I get a positive id with my cameras. I have no idea about your error but I use parrot OS and every time I have run sudo apt update && upgrade it has basically broken my OS. Running parrot-upgrade works fine and i think its an alias for apt full-upgrade. maybe that has changed because i havent run that command on parrot in a long time. hopefully that helps?

Well, the way I learned, was to

1. Dual boot a Linux distro and use it as your daily driver (though I understand it's harder to do these days with all the UEFI shit Windows does)
2. Graduate into reading Linux From Scratch (friend gifted me a copy in highschool)
3. Graduate into maintaining your own system on something like Arch and customize it however you want

It's gonna be frustrating and take you a while. Not for the faint of heart, but you'll come out knowing Linux inside and out.

This is my opinion, Rustscan itself is not better than nmap, it is just significantly faster
The points which rustscan excels in are speed, automated integration, and easy to use
But Nmap excels in deep enumeration and versatility!

I generally use both, checking for open ports using rustscan and doing deep enumeration on those specific ports using nmap! Still none of them are like best best! It depends on how you use it and in what context you use it

Also I had some instances, where basic rustscan missed few ports while nmap was able to enumerate them due to its nature of enumerating in detail (which also makes it slower)

If you are learning then first understand the basics, what is web, how the web works, no need to direct jump into DVWA
If you are someone who thinks your fundamentals are clear and are getting stuck at DVWA then try to first use your creativity, think how a hacker would bypass things and make things work
If you get real bad stuck, then read stuff online.... It is not wrong to take help sometimes, but don't rely on it always, try to think a bit

• Can you spare the disk space?
• Are there more users of your machine who would NOT be comfortable with Linux?
• Do you depend on any particular Windows software without an equivalent on Linux for school or work?

Then I suggest you give dual booting a go. Keep Windows for your games and use Linux as your daily driver.

Keep in mind though, that Steam has been doing amazing things for gaming on Linux. Haven’t tried that in literally decades, but I hear it’s pretty decent these days.
