Hey Everyone , I recently purchased courseraās annual membership and im trying to break into tech i was looking to get my foot in the door with Googles IT Support Specialist cert, and work my way into cyber security from there should i still take the Comptia A+ or should o focus on Network + since the Google cert is an equvailent
Iām gonna be straight forward. Hi everyone my name is rondo, pretty much have an ok life story and I need help and getting into a certain part of the web š
what "certain part" are you referring to
Elaborate?
DW
DW
dark web
i assume
just download tor from https://torproject.org
then browse to dark[dot]fail or tor[dot]taxi for hidden service links
its nothing special
I thank you. But me and you both know itās more to it then just tor right? Between me and you, if I can find the right way to do it discreetly, Iāll pay you and also help people struggling.
Thatās why i said robinhood
no
it isnt
its nothing special
Oh wow really?
really
if you want more opsec while on tor, i gave you a chain you can run
use mullvad vpn, setup vm with qubesos, connect to vps/rdp, then proxy, done, then connect to tor
or just use tor directly on a separate VM, you dont need anything special
There's nothing special @marble bay mostly dw you'll just download a malware and mess up your life ššāāļø
Peak
No chance ...its not accepting it. I wrote CS ....maybe its a bug !
You donāt have to even stop at one! Grab a couple!
hey everyone
By your answers it looks like its a small issue that can be solved
You asked this here right after I told you in another channel not to crosspost.
How about you enter instagram into the search engine and see for yourself how often the question comes up, and what is the same answer every time - also the one you already got
Is it allowed in this server that someone helps for learning something to someone else against money ?
Not illegal things just like for example programming languages or other things in general ? I ask this because I want to have the best results for my college and sometimes I don't understand everything and it takes a lot of time to learn it from the web so idk if there are here people willing to learn things to others like a private course against a good remunaration ? Not for now but maybe for a time I would need it
people wonāt mentor you
but you can ask for resources
and ask questions and people will answer them for you
welcome in! chat's in here #š¬ć»old-gen-chat
okay so heres the cryptography problem :
Encrypted Message:
UYUOD OJLOV XJDFK PTUDL IXTYK
Tool to Use: cryptii
HINT: Why did Person A specify the nature of the reflector?
And there's a conversation attached that provides the rings ect to use. but it leaves the positions and reflector unknown
the hint refers to that conversation, its a little long to send in the chat, but I have it as a pdf if anyone would like
Im pretty curious, and also learning some cryptography, you can send it over @wary prairie
sent!
Is it done
it isnt
were still stuck, its way too hard imo
pdf would be needed in order to continue
ill send it in dms
Hi could anyone suggest how to master networking? I need to do the theory parts very well along with understanding stuff. It's one of the stuff I would be graded on in my upcoming exams. If ur kind enough it would be very helpful to get some resources and website links!
Do you know where I can find people to mentor me ?
I don't need it now but maybe in the future if I know college becomes too hard.
No one will mentor you
There are sites that provide curated course material, thats about as far as you get
You could try what others have tried, and start your own learning community.. just be prepared that it will be flooded by people who are looking to get help, not provide it
vlan hopping
if the switch isnāt nisconfiged then might as well give up
Search the world's information, including webpages, images, videos and more. Google has many special features to help you find exactly what you're looking for.
no
omg
when asking simple questions
google then rather
people ask here then forget google exists
wouldnāt exactly be able to ādo anythingā to it
donāt u already have a connection to it
admin access would just be browsing to the gateway ip address in a browser, then logging into it using the credentials on the back of the router lol
Beginner Seeking Guidance on Becoming a Cyber Threat Analyst

Any advice or resources for someone just starting out
Thank you in advance for any guidance or insights!
Hey as a fresher with no prior experience currently at last year of his 3 year cs degree how much dsa leetcode should I do with topics and My primary programming language is java so what extra should I be learning any recommendations
write ur own code
like a project u havent done before
What do you mean by write your own code
"like a project u havent done before"
What are the skills required as a java developer or a job that requires java as primary coding language
can someone help me in this ??
yh im workin on it
oh thanks buddy
ideally that you're fluent in the language, have worked with large code bases, can integrate software solutions for said large code bases, etc

guys i have a phone number and i wanna know who's phone number is this , how to reverse phone number lookup ?
you'd need to do OSINT on the number
or have access to intelligence databases like intelx, intelfetch, predictasearch
these usually cost money
but i dont have linux or kali or all of that tools
u dont need linux or kali or "all of that tools" to perform OSINT
you literally just need an internet connection
so is there is no other way ? on the phone or smth , cuz idk anyrthingg about the OSINT
oh then can u tell me where can i learn to do it ?
send me the number in dm ill have a look, because no there is no other way
alrightt
alr man thank you
thanks man
Thanks budd
hello
For general chat, we have #š¬ć»old-gen-chat , if you have questions then you can ask them here
yo the other day someone suggested to start with tryhackme cybersecurity 101 for learning but i am kinda stuck in that premium room shi so should i skip those rooms like would it effect learning or is there someway to access it for free
u cant access them for free
i wouldnt say they effect learning
tryhackme like 28+ pages over 300+ rooms that are free that you can learn a bunch of stuff from
so i cant get certificate without paying them thats kinda sad
thats usually how certs go
though there are a bunch of free certs you can go for
so nice of you thank you so much ā¤ļø
But the usual addendum applies - free certs are worthless, when it comes to jobs
Great, if you have connections and someone who wants to hire you. Getting to the job interview stage with random applications.. no joy.. either the industry standard certifications, or you get sorted out
thanks man i didn't think of that icould you suggest some valuable learning wise i mean my prime focus isn't job by any sort i am just curious for cs and want to earn money by any ways ctfs or anything could you suggest someway to learn better for practical usage or something
there are several recommendations covered in #š„ć»new-member-guide #š ļøresources-tools #šć»free-resources
prob spamming
make a #š©āticket
Btw will we get kicked out of the server
If our names still blue
When is the time limit
no idea
Can I level up in this chat
probably wouldnt worry about it
u can always rejoin
yeah
u can level up in any chat
hello
Dang
Hi people
Is there any server tag here
Cuz idk why I'm in this server I forgot
Lemme check
root
Okay cool we can rage
what would you guys recommend to use in order to take notes?
a notepad and pen
like seriously dawg is that even a valid question
i was meaning like an online toolš
notepad.exe
which is installed by default on your computer
or https://onlinenotepad.org/notepad if you must use a website
Write down quick notes and print a simple text document with Online Notepad editor. It includes spellchecker, word counter, autosave, find and replace etc.
for some weird reason
nah you lowkey right
that mightve been a stupid question lol
Quick probably dumb question. I have the opportunity to buy a few Chromebooks for cheap cheap. How hard is it to wipe the os and put something better on it? Ubuntu, fedora, whatever. I've never had a Chromebook but I've heard the os is ass
Iam here whats wrong?
Oh bro nothing is wrong lol just curious as to your opinion to this. My bad man
Other chat is flying too fast and didn't want to take advantage of DMs for something like this
Damn bro , cant give you suggestions here as i myself have never touched a chromebook
Hello everyone, I want to start up a barbing saloon and bouquet in my Community, I need a mentors in that business for guidance.
Ahh heard that brotha. You're just the only one I know in the chat currently haha so I tagged ya
yeah we dont
do any of that
Hahaha lol sorry i couldnt help
this is a cybersecurity related server, it is quite literally the very opposite of what you want to do
Nah bro you're totally good my man š
Hello
Uhmā¦.okay, no real way I can contribute to that but I wish you all the best, Abibu
@echo vault We dont do that here please read the #šć»rules
hey if ialready torrent or downloaded more than 300 games with no vpn or nothing to secore me how worry should i be ?
wouldnt worry
just use vpn from now on
thank u boss any recommendation for vpn other than northvpn
Joplin
depends on the make and model, most are problematic
mullvad
Alright thank you
zzz
is legal to use 4chan website?
help
yes
with
i want learn some
wow im just asking bc this is like 4 time goin on the website looking for games informtion nd i just saw really dar stuff in there thankn you
dark
just search google lol
4chan has nothing to do with game information itās just full of creeps and weirdos
i can tell is full off wierd stuff i just thought that website was like reddit to find info but i guess not
nah
reddit is reddit
4chan is a cesspit
so guys i downloaded a certificate in my laptop and i thave transferred to my pendrive but when i tried to open later i found that it is corrupted to the point that it is unopenable
so how can i get into hold of that pdf
redownload it
i can't
why
I appreciate that. They are probably trash. They are old elementary school classroom laptops.
anyone know how to learn python
Sololearn or Codeacademy
Learn python is also a good resource
Anyone who can mentor me on practical cybersecurity please
That's not a thing, even though people ask all the time. Start with #š„ć»new-member-guide
@steady palm can you please recommend where i could get support for that.
Support for what, deadshot is asleep! I can assist you if you want
Okay.
Thanks
Tech on 4chan is kinda normal just sometimes you she a sus pic ones in a while
hello
I am stuc in this ctf https://play.picoctf.org/practice/challenge/520?category=1&page=1
is this beginner friendly ?
Yes it is a beginner friendly web exploitation challenge with cryptography!
Truecaller and Trend Micro check are good sites that I have heard of
I just spend 2 hours on my first reverse engineering ctf
you think ctfs are good way to learn cyber ? or I should do courses ?
If you are a beginner who has his fundamentals of programming, networking, and OS not cleared then CTFs will be a torture on you because you do not understand the fundamentals of the things
Doing a web exploitation challenge without having a strong fundamental of how web works is not efficient, you will hit here and there.... Better option is learn fundamentals from places like THM and HTB academy, clear your theory by reading books and article then gradually move to CTFs
CTF are really good, but for them who know what they are doing. They are not for learning, but a practice ground.
It is like for those who know stuff but want to sharpen their skills
I used to do webscraping ,I studied networking and programming
I know some stuff about the web but I wouldn't call it strong fundamentals
thank you that's insightful maybe I should start with HTB and I will learn more from the CTF I do that way.
what course you recommend I start ?
Linux fundamentals is good one
They also have networking fundamentals! I recommend start from any of that
use less llms when coding
llms?
so i dont use any ai but thyen how would i learn stuff
the learning happens when you think and try
copying code won't get you anywhere when it comes to learning
if you want to learn what a function do just try using it
you can start with easy problem solving problems
that's how I learn new languages
should i start with tryhackme or learning languanges
Thereās a website called roadmap.sh (idk if links are allowed but you can google it if you want) and it gives you a pretty decent framework on what you should learn before moving on to other things.
Some might be better to start on THM, others might be good for programming languages. You donāt need to know ALL of it, but you should at least be familiar with most of it
what would be better in ur opinion
Wym? Between THM and learning programming languages?
yea
for the first step
I mean, what do you wanna actually do? Like what discipline do you want to get into? IR, SOC analyst, Red Team, etc?
red team
Red team is not typically an entry level field. Probably worth mentioning
for entry then waht?
Yea thatās a further down the line thing. BUT I mean you could get started on THM if you wanna learn fundamentals. Idk where youāre at with your knowledge or skill, but the first step into any discipline is to get IT fundamentals down
Entry is gonna be good ol help desk my man š you could maybe get an entry level SOC analyst / junior admin position if you know some people and are good enough to do the job
But tbh, I think help desk is a great place to start. Even better if you can work for an MSP
there are no entry cyber security roles ?
Coming from someone currently at an MSP
There are, but the big cyber ship has sailed since COVID
what do you mean ?
Market is flooded
Man 2020 was a year š Sec+ was all you needed to land a very cushy job for entry cybersecurity
tbh ik nothing about anything maybe abit of cybersec but other then that nothing
Bug bounty can be an entry if youre good at it
You got a degree? Or plan on going to college?
Itās okay if the answer is no
I donāt have a degree
I am currently unsure I will graduate in one year as an industrial computer science engineer
I dont know if I go cyber or AI or IOT ...
all I hear is market is flooded both in AI and cyber...
but I think I have a better chance with cyber
or maybe I can specialize in industrial cyber sec
I would go into what youāre more passionate about. Burnout is real and if you donāt like your job, you wonāt wanna stay
Even if the pay is good
I am passionate about cyber sec
becoming a specialist in industrial cybersec is a very specific role and would require experience in the area
Good. Find a discipline that works for you and start at the bottom in terms of your learning. Get really good at fundamentals bc thatās what youāll resort to when all else fails
nah i dropped out
Ik thatās pretty generic advice but itās something I wish I paid more attention to earlier on
you thinq one year is enough for me to learn and get a internship in cyber ? I have decent knowledge in IT: programming/network/IOT
yeah prob
Itās hard to switch gears to a different industry later on in life, I went 4 years into my degree doing mechanical and nuclear engineering (god material science still gives me nightmares) and I dropped out and went into IT. Gave up 100k easy for literally half that in help desk
But I have a much higher pay ceiling now. Thank God I made this decision prior to having a family otherwise I wouldāve chosen to be miserable
yeah that 's good advice. is try hack me cyber sec 101 enough ? what else I should do ?
Yeah you could, especially with your degree path. The biggest thing I can recommend to ANYONE is to network. Meet people in the industry and be their friend. You never know who could be your next āinā somewhere
I got my current job with no exp and no degree bc I worked as a concierge at a condo. One of the residents of my building is my current companyās president š he liked me a lot and gave me his card. Saw a job opening and he threw me a bone and here I am
Know your cloud environments (most likely Azure, but AWS is pretty big in large enterprise environments), know some networking, know how to use common tools, etc
ok so i know nothing of any coding or and ik barely anytrhing of cybersec im just wondering where to start to learn more
Professor messer for net+ and security+
Know how to use a siem
***Talk to ppl ***
And you'll get the job
coding after?
Coding is optional
wouldnt i be very limited to what i do if i dont know code
Programming is overrated in cybersecurity spaces. Know how to script repeat tasks and how to read code
In a way but it's not end all be all
thank you that's very valuable advice @agile marten
do i need to know how to make scripts?
or just read
That' shouldn't be ur priority
You should know how to make bash and PS scripts yes. But ^^^^ @chilly merlin said it best
you need to learn how to code to do that xD
do i start with bash and PS then THM?
No, lol donāt worry about that rn
Youāre way too early on to need to care about that stuff
so i do the fundementals of THM?
start with THM learn programming along the way
just do some problem solving in parallel
Itāll help down the line but you should get basic IT fundamentals down at this point in your career
go through this path
pick one
If u want to learn blue team stuff
Letsdefend
Btlo
Security blue team
These will help
You need to know how to borrow code to do that š jokes of course, but unless your in IR or forensics, youāre not gonna need that type of knowledge early on
can i start with red team
Start with networking
@chilly merlin ā¤ļø
Lord please do. Subnetting killed half of our help desk staff when we had a company wide project
Is termux good starting point?
Security Analyst
Penetration Tester
Security Engineer
out of these 3 whats the best
Those are three completely different fields
It's like what's better chemical engineering or building a car
building a car
ik but which should i do
Whatever you wanna do. Look into those disciplines before making a decision
All of them can make good money, but again, pay should not be your #1 priority long term. Itās very important, but so is liking the work that youāre doing
so all coding i learn after right
For work, yes. If you like programming I wonāt tell you not to program tho. Have your passions and chase them. But as far as a job is concerned, donāt put too much emphasis on it
Starting with red team or blue team is a very weird question for me personally
I say start with both, who is stopping you? If you are a beginner and do not know where to go then just start with both
I mean how to exploit a file upload vulnerability and how it can be mitigate is not something too much to cover (just an example)
But before stepping into anything
Make sure to clear your fundamentals in networking, programming and OS stuff
if i had 1tb of storage n i have 500gb of storage left, will that impact my fps at all
shouldnt, no. if you are running the game from anything besides an SSD or specifically NVME though you may have fps drops due to load speeds.
what about 300-400
Is the CEH master worth it ?
I am getting this package for 530 usd
It includes :
1-Year Access to CEH v13 E-Courseware
6-Month Access to EC-Council's Official Online Lab Environment (iLabs)
EC-Councilās Certification Exam Voucher (valid for 1 year)
1-Year Access to Instructor-Led Training Modules with streaming videos, offering the flexibility of self-paced learning while receiving expert guidance.
Additional Benefits with C|EH v13 AI:
CEH Practical Exam Voucher (valid for 1 year)
Additional Exam Retake for CEH Theory (just pay the administration fee)
CEH Engage Access
CodeRed Ethical Hacking Library
Global CEH Challenge (New challenges each month!)
So is it worth it for me? I just got eager to do it after seeing many job offers requiring it even for SOC positions.
if a SOC is requiring a CEH it aint worth it.. they might as well ask for a CISSP for an entry level (which I have seen before...)
Id just get the book and do online studies, try that out for a bit and see how it goes for you
Hi
no
CEH is useless
companies that ask for CEH donāt know the industry either
I mean on the other hand.. if that is all they ask for š¤·
documented job experience is documented job experience
i need some help, i have a school project with a vm (linnux, unbuntu, version ubuntu 20.04 LTS (focal fossa) 64 bit) its is locked with 2 users REMnux user and admin. i need to get in. anyone got suggestions?
hmmmm this is beyond my limits
but i guess how you do it will be an experience for me too
@steady palm yo can we get assistance?
alr rn i went into the vms grub and enabled networking now scanning host only to try snd get its ip and maybe bf it
Can't help with that here bro sorry.Read our #šć»rules
hmm alr, there goes my grade lol
but thanks
What do you mean you need to get in?
i need to get in the vm but i dont have the password for either admin or the user
its my final ctf
So you are supposed to turn on the machine and perform a scanning to see what port is open and depending what is open you have to attack it?
It is a bit strange that they mentioned REMnux
yesss
we use remnux in schooll for all the projects
yup both dont work
Strange REmnux is usually something you use for malware analysis
guys what do you suggest for OSINT
Well I'm probably missing context
alr i have gotten a vm called leaksitefinal.ova and this is the vm for a data leak site and now i need to penetrate the dataleak site and tske over a c2 server. so with this i guess i have tp get in the vm
So either your course material prepared you for it, or it didn't. If the story holds water at all, consult your notes
thats true, but im stuck and i have no clue atm
We're not helping with exams, ctfs, homework.. those are not about "who can I ask?", but what you are capable of
if in doubt - enumerate
alr man
Hello
This is my second time asking, is termux good starting point
It's basically a terminal in a sandbox so there isn't much you can do in it, it depends what you wanna do
for?
such a broad question
What up vivi?
If what you are actually wanting to ask "Can I use my smartphone instead of a real computer", then no
But as others said - not enough context
Guys anyone know how much discount is there for tryhackme's annual during christmas?
Maybe take a look at tryhackme.com
40% off
Same as Black Friday?
yes
š. Btw is this the max discount you can get for an annual plan?
yeah probably for now
40%
Hey why you blue boy and not blue man?
I will tell you once I complete my task

Hello am new here
What up
Waht you waana know
What you wanna learn
What you wanna imagine
Hello everyone. I am thinking to make finally some labs for pentesting. Is kubernetes a good choice? Honestly I never tried it yet. If yes - would you recommend some course you liked?
Everything boss
You definitely baited me
All about hacking
sure if u wanna learn more about kurbernetes
So ... i am thinking about having like docker boxes now ... since i would know vulnerability, and e.g. i would like to test some exploit
i have enough of theories, i need a lab xD
let's say, i know there is RCE on some kernel version; i want to run the virtual machine, but having like a completely new setup in virtualbox seems like overkill
I am just thinking if this is the correct way to go on, or if i have some flaws in this logic
not really
ur testing it in the most legitimate way then
Importing a vulnerable machine is pretty much the easiest testing method.
I guess you are right, but I am not sure if to keep all these older vms, i probably would like to revisit them in the future and they could be space spending
and as far as i know docker offers to have set of OS and installed tools
it seems to me very optimal to make them
Why revisit
well to learn stuff i need to play around a little bit, but also revisit and refresh knowledge
it's too much info for me to grasp everything at frist try honestly
You dont need the vm for that, write down everything, screenshot eneverything
this is probably a good point tho ...
alright, i will try few ways to find what suits the best.
Thak you very much guys!
You play around, you break, you breach, and then you throw it away
Bye blue names
next are the non supporters

Hey guys, looking to install aircrack ng. Trying to figure out if my laptops WiFi adapter is compatible or is capable of injecting packets etc.. I am on a new laptop and my card is no where online not sure where to go from here. The guides for aircrack insist on insuring this info before download so I assume i shouldnt download and test to find out? Any Ideas. This is the info i have on my wifi adapter.
ID PCI 8086:a840:8086:00e4
Class 02-80 Ā»
Type net/wireless Ā»
Vendor Intel Ā»
Name Wi-Fi 6E AX231 160MHz
Subsystem Intel
not compatible
you need an external wifi adapter
Google search for the adapter will tell you pretty quick.
"Adapter name linux compatible monitor mode" or something similar
Pretty much anything with a mediatek chip is usually a pretty good choice. Atheros is real solid too. Avoid realtek chips like the plague. They're awful in linux and entirely unsupported in kali.
Okay thank you
Good day fellas .
So well i have been here for well over a month now i guess and i see everything going here seem very well structured and well Iām a person very passionate about securing a carrier in IT and i think will be more purposeful for me to get a monitor here as well , to guide me on how to go about this whole journey
Hi guys
Hello
Hi everyone, Iād appreciate some guidance.
I have a BE in CSE, currently pursuing an MTech in CNE, and Iāve completed a 4-month hands-on VAPT internship. My interest is in offensive security and penetration testing.
From a hiring perspective, is it worth completing certifications like eWPT and PNPT before applying for pentesting roles, or should I focus more on projects, labs, and real-world experience? Any insights from people in the field would really help.
Guys can someone please help me I canāt type in general text
any legit wayys to earn here ?

i mean some ways in cybersec oor by computer knowledge coz freelance is overpopulated and i am unemployed discord kitty
This comes up all the time, and the answer is no, no job opportunity or payment awaits you here. Mind the scammers thought that may or may not DM you now
I need you help deciding guys 5060 ti 16gb or 5070. My current psu doesnāt have atx 3.0 or 3.1 btw š

how do i get a otp bot for telegram?
That's the neat part. You don't.
text me
u buy one or set one up yourself
how u set it up
Oh wait I think I might miss read that. You try to use Telegram as some kind of OTP?
If that's the case you probably have to read trough the bot dev documentation for Telegram.
That doesn't sound ethical to me now
depends on the bot you use
thats not an otp bot
can"t I send a script in here?
no

Python Programming for Beginners and Students: The Ultimate Python Crash Course by friedrich haus
Hi
Hello
You guys doing good?
I was wondering if there a website or a tool that can be used for facial search and can bring up any information about the person in the image.
This is for educational purpose š
doing good
I will also like to know how to use shodan
exit
sorry muscle memoryš
Google photo search does that
Thanks but that is limited. I can't exactly use it as a facial recognition search engine
Should I read a book about python or cyber security first?
You can
Which one?
cyber sec first
@plain arch Then watch tutorials to learn Python cuz chances are you don't need too many technicalities to using python to create a scripts but you will need to know the fundamentals of transmitting and executing the script in a targeted device
For those with google fiber, is anyone aware of a way to access the router other than the app? I would like to use an admin interface of some sort. It's a router that was provided by google and seems to be the modem and router. The options within the app are very limited...
I have a book do i read it?
@plain arch If it is for cyber sec sure. Frankly any goes, doesn't matter which comes first. One just gets you started with wat you want , which I'm assuming is cyber sec and the other is just a long and unnecessary path to the same destination
Hes giving you bad advice on skipping programming basics. Start with the basic python. You need a good understanding of basic programming logic.
Hey we don't run people's opinions down to look better than. What did I say that was wrong @deft violet
It's true that you need the basics of programming logic but to achieve what exactly. I noticed you just answered with "You need a good understanding of basic programming logic" and not provide what you will need it for.
@deft violet If he/she wants to do cyber sec he/she won't need programming first, they would need to know the fundamentals of how the internet works and various understanding of the theoretical backbone of the technologies we use today to run business, jobs, construction, entertainment and schools, and that is the internet so as to know how to protect it and not learning how to print "hello world" (no offence). Programming is only practical and not technical in this context
Not true
Coding is optional in this field
For the most part

There's a course in security blue team called intro to OSINT you'd benefit from it
It's free and doesn't take up that much time
Fr? Hook me up comrade
Ain't exactly gotta be a dev but a basic understanding of python? Without it you cant even read a script and tell what it does.
I can think of several fields where u don't have to look at a script
It's a good to have
Rather than a necessity
Why would you if you don't even know wat that script is used for.
You have to understand that python is just another tool, cyber security is a field meaning it encapsulate everything that deals with gaining access to unauthorised system and protecting them from such attacks. It doesn't matter if it is python, go, C or Rust, if you don't understand the basic of the field you intend to use the language in, then forget learning a language to being with
Sharp. I sorry @deft violet Looks like you don't know this field too well and I am a cyber security graduate š
Right, but youre saying "you dont need to know one" and im saying "you need an understanding of both."
Can you write a script?
This all started with you accusing me of misleading someone, when all I did was to advice them on which comes first not which is better than the other. Both are good but cyber sec is necessary that a freaking programming language.
Yes wats ur point
Look, I apologize for coming across condescending. Wasn't the intention.
So basic scripting was part of the cyber security degree? They figured you needed to understand it?
We dont help with this and dont mass tag. #šć»rules
Okay sorry my bad
This part is a fair point.
No it wasn't. Common misconception is learn a language first then find a field. Truth be told, get a field then learn a language. Most especially now we live in a world where programming language is coming to a singularity and in a matter of years a lot of programming language would hv similar features with just different syntax. So bottom line, learn the Goddamn field then the language, cuz unless you are a software engineer you would be wasting ur time. learning a language first FACTS!!!
You're tilted bud. Why the anger? š
Oh no, we cool, young blud. That's just the sound of me knowing I won u in this argument, š
I'm not young. And we're at an agree to disagree, partially anyway.
Frankly, after years of seeing people come into communities like this with 0 fundamentals and way over their head, im probably a bit callous to it.
Oh well this is the best I can get. Whatever! I don't care what you think just don't go telling someone to learn programming language before cyber sec or u would be cooked
Hey guys, i was looking into practising network injecting and what not but i need an external wifi adapter to do that can i still watch traffic with an internal wifi adapter on my laptop? and what software would be used for that? This is done on an internal server my dad has btw so not illegal lol
Cooked huh.
I'm genuinely sorry to hear that, but unless u got the backing that supports ur claim u are better off keeping it to ur self š
Backing that basic scripting is core curriculum in any cyber security education?
Literally every platform teaches it
Let's agree to disagree
Sounds like a cool proj @sand cedar . Unfortunately I don't hv a clue of a software that can help you with that, but you could try asking AI if that is ok?
Check back later. Hopefully the pros will be around
Doesn't mean it is the first to learn to be considered a cybersecurity expert or practitioner
I can call 5 careers under cyber security field that need little to no basic skill in scripting
You just need the external and it needs to support monitor mode and packet injection. Assuming youre doing this on linux avoid anything with a realtek chipset. They suck and aren't supported in kali at all. Atheros chip or a mediatek works. Just need wireshark for the capture and whatever tool you choose for injection. Aircrack or the like.
Apology accepted btw. No hard feelings fam

Do you by any chance know any facial recognition search engine
Google image or yandex come to mind for image searches. They're not specifically facial recognition though they look for specific images.
Just googled it and found a couple paid.

Hi everyone, I really hope someone who can help with app's protocol reverse engineering.
yall im trying to learn more on rev engineering. is there a good platform where i could learn and practise them?
hey, everyone i need help about an issue. i keep receiving very weird emails from someone that i keep blocking and they keep texting me since yesterday night im not sure who they are but the know specific things im not sure how they got them and it dos look like a bot ro something like that but im not sure what to do. Can anyone advise me please
Hey everyone can any one help me in doing bug bounty i am trying for the first time we can split the amount we get i any one in Dm me
lmfao
so you expect experts to waste their time on you
and only get half
for all the work theyāve done
hes prob gonna claim all the credit
lmao
sometimes
it depends on the service theyāre running
it increases the ground you can attack on though
sometimes you can find a vulnerable service
uh
are you pentesting
bug bounty?
hired by owner?
yea i dont trust that š
no
thatās the worst scanner
itās like
most hacking tools you learn, you wonāt use them
you will never use metasploit
in a real world scenario
you will never use nikto
mostly, yes
youāll want and know what you want, being more specific
no because the open tools are from the 2000s
or well sure, that too
no malware in metasploit will pass todayās antiviruses
windows defender, even android knox
you code them
it depends de on what la gage youāll use and need
language
python?
mostly yes
iāve been doing cybersec for almost 7 years and mostly have used python for any payloads or exploit iād make unless itād have something to do with firmwares or L1/L2
no i do not
yt vids love to hate keep
gate keep
Reading
i didnāt learn legally at first and was rather fascinated and interested in cyber crime
so no i donāt have any reliable and legal resources
go on tryhackme to teach you some basic cybersec
itās decent for beginners
I didn't say books - documentation, code, writeups, standards
itās a pretty popular book
Heyy guys Iām new, I have basic skills(beginner basically) in pentesting and I would love to upgrade my skills to the max, so if thereās any materials or videos to help me with that I would appreciate I want to learn thank you š
obviously we are not helping you #šć»rules
ƶeave your school devices alone, like a grown up
yeah people always tell the same story.. "Hi, I am basically clueless, but I can treat you guys like a chatgpt prompt, amirite? So believe it or not, I was actually ethically tasked to perform a pentest, guys.. weird but true!"
grow up
go read the #šć»rules already
no, we
yeah totally
look at your previous questions and asssess whether someone would ever hire you to pentest
your education seems wasted on you anyway, so might as well try AI
random DMs get ignored by pretty much everyone here
You gotta realize.. you are appearing half a dozen times per day on this server.. the names change, but the principle is always the same.. basically clueless, does not like to read, will be gone in about a day never to be seen again cause their frustration tolerance is basically null
Feel free to prove otherwise and go work through the resources provided
and here comes the childish part.. I dont like what you are saying.. so now I'm going to twist this as mean intention or bully behaviour, instead of actual advice
@everyone does anyone knows how to get the gpu work for wslv2 ?

youāre
barely giving any info
cat etc issue portion on what module
Tier 0
Itās telling me to open up the integrated terminal and type that in to open Linux os
tier 0 is a type of module
itās not a module
whatās the name
what chapter are you on
and whatās the issue ?
Intro ? š itās saying no such file or directory
Idk if I can send a picture
Idk what Iām supposed to do :/
close HTB, und spend some time on linuxjourney.com
It seems you lack basic fundamentals on linux
Well I wasnāt too sure bc the prompt is: start your workstation, then use the integrated terminal to find the Linux os flavor by running the following commands cat /etc/issue. but when I do it says no such file or directory
Hey buddies, anyone is here ?
How can I delete my data from the internet I know it's not possible but still we can remove it somewhat right!?.. can anyone please help me with that
There are platforms like DeleteMe, PrivacyDuck, and Safe Shepherd which request to remove your data from data brokers are diff places. I won't say it is 100% removal but yes it is efficient
you gotta think long and hard about your threat model, and then make a plan to act upon it
services that claim to delete your stuff have been know again and again to collect and sell it themselves
And no I am not going to comment on individual services
I'm curious what's a actual payload look like?
what are you specifically referring to?
like an android payload? a windows payload? most of these would be in either an .APK for android, or .EXE/.MSI/.BAT/.JS/.SCR format for windows (among others)
Thanks bud
Thanks bud!
hi so i got a python book its called all in one by John C shovic and alan simpson and im wondering if it is a good book to learn python
yes
when i finish it do i re read or get a new one?
both
as many as you need to in order to understand the language
alr thank u
do i also only need to learn the basics or more ?
depends on how good you want to be at writing python code
im just trying to learn bash PS and python for pen testing
then yeah read it as many times as you want till you feel comfortable
Like a normal request
???
anyone knows about android fud
what do you mean by fud?
So I installed zorin os
But it doesn't boot at all
Idk what's going on
It boots but shuts off and boots and shuts off
fully undetected
I disabled secure boot but that doesn't work..might go back to my other os
oh, I was thinking something completely different
It's making me not trust Linux installations
u should just run windows with a linux vm
Eh I have to reinstall win11 then.
But win drains alot of battery so I switched but yeah..ur right
just keep ur laptop plugged in
like thought it was the random propaganda that isnāt actually helpful intelligence
nah
Its usually because people didn't follow the installation guides
TIL!
And risk the battery.. ?
fud is also a crypto saying though
batteries do not explode or go bad that easily
I followed it..but it doesn't work. Idk what I'm doing wrong
Was political way before that
gotcha
so like fully undetected Android exploit in this case, I suppose
"Doesn't work" is not an error description. Did you flash the installation medium with the tool(s) the documentation told us to use?
in this case hes talking about malware
Yes with rufus
thanks for clarifying, I use that term way differently
Gpt/uefi booted cleanly through USB. Installed through the setup as said in the video but nothing
The install documentation told you to use rufus?
Cause many/most linux distros strongly advice against it
Idk this dude I watched got me into it lol. Step my step
By*
Using Rufus so I did too
But eh.. it's fine..ATM it's unbootable
Plus a haswell processor on a vm is struggling with other applications open unless I have the VM only...
But that too is a pain..due to.windows 11s requirement of physical 4gb to run fine
Since I got 8
Was planning on using aircrack-ng or learning code. Through the installation but that went horrid
Well commands sorry
yeah, kind of a low ceiling to work with
Might go back to win11 just do it with wsl..wsl is limited rn
So you did not follow the official installation guide then.. just some youtube video
Especially wlan it doesn't have
Iām having trouble uploading picture here
with
The installation guide on yt
I think you can set up wlan to work on wsl
Any hacker is here
How long does that take
not long, just a few rules to set up in network/fw afaik
Bro any hacker is here
nope. Iām barely literate
As I said - almost everyone who can't get it done did not follow the official installation guide of their chosen linux distro.. seems like this is just such a case
@vivid vessel As things finally settle down, Iāve had some time to clear my head. The past few weeks have been rough, but Iām focused now and I know what direction I need to take. Iām currently working on my CCNA, and Iām trying to figure out the best path to pursue afterward.
Iāve got years of experience as a cable technician, but the contracting company I worked for went bankrupt, so Iāve been pushing to find new ways to support my family. Iād really appreciate insight from people with experience ā network techs, pentesters, systems folks, anyone in the field.
After the CCNA, whatās the smartest next step? What certification or skillset opens the best doors?
yes
Who bro
I am looking right now at the official zorin installation guide, and it tells you to use balenaetcher, as almost all guides do
maybe just ask your question
rufus is easily the single most reason people get stuck during installation
Ask nicely and you shall receive
thatās true
mE !
Bro, I need your help because for the past three or four days a TikTok ID has been bothering me. They are posting my videos without permission, using bad sounds, and blackmailing me. Bro, is there anyone who can help and hack their ID?
not possible, report the account
and ignore it
simple as that
Is this not possible to hack fake I'd
not possible
#šć»rules No. 3
Also - what you are asking for gets asked every day here.. could have saved yourself and us a bit of time looking it up first
Thx
i want to ask something
Il check again and see
whenever i want to learn something from someone, i never get an answer, so i want to learn how to ask someone to answer you
Hhhh ok bro, I was worried thatās why I asked. If it felt bad to you all, then sorry š.
maybe the person i ask is wrong or anythhing can be , but i think the way i ask is not bad
just ask ur question
am an AIML guy whose currently into uncensored local LLMs or smth
so which LLM is perfect for that ?
( local and open sourced if possible )
the one you build yourself
deephat.ai exists, venice ai exists
pretty sure they are on huggingface
Strange.. seems like it's correct. There's balenaetcher..alternatives I could use is Rufus and others..
Rest of the steps are same..idk imma just assume it's a hybrid with csm
whats venice ai ? never heard of it
Try Venice.ai for free. Generate text, images, characters and video using private and unbiased AI.
Believe me when I say - use balenaetcher - like the official documentation says, and not rufus
Won't go for the alternatives then. Thanks! But imma stick with windows
For now
there is a reason it says this
its just an uncensored ai dawg
right from help.zorin.com
bruh it just ended in 3 texts? and demands a pro
lol tough
try deephat.ai in that case then
what are u trying to ask it anyways
"the hacks"
things abt jailbreaking , custom uncensored ai and practical knowledge abt them and stuff ?
aka "the hacks"
Claimed it as an alternative..Rufus but thanks..šø means much luv
uncensored ais dont know shit they're pretty useless
then ?
jailbreaking is more focused on prompt injection, uncensored AI would only know about the documented versions of that, apart from it, you can look into other resources https://github.com/yueliu1999/Awesome-Jailbreak-on-LLMs
You need a VPN for this or something else?
then nothing
vpn for what
and abt custom uncensored local llms ?
For that
for what
It's fine..nvm
you can look into this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyllRd2E6fg

yeah i saw this video recently ( last night )
Oh so ur not able to get caught with this..nice
New to these things so I apologize
"caught" doing "what"?
no LE gives a shit if you jailbreak an AI
Then I'm def trying this on windows. Cuz I wanna see what I can do..
I just want to say thank you to whoever has been helping me, but I was curious if anyone could recommend where I should start learning how to better protect my network without owning a computer
exactly cuz pythonis a interpreted language
you can use libraries like pyinstaller or nuitka to compile your python source into an exe
with all libs included
Hello guys i know i shouldn't be talking about personal stuff I'm master student currently studying master in cybersecurity at abroad im international student and its way too much difficult on getting part time jobs here and im really in trouble as i dont have living expenses i dont have much know on cybersecurity but im thinking joining as intern but still i get rejections can anybody give me some proper suggestions and best idea to get jobs or make myself better in cybersecurity
for getting better at cyber, u just have to consume knowledge and train practically by testing your knowledge
to get jobs, literally just go get a job at ur local mcdonalds or local supermarket or something
not gonna get one as a beginner
Hello š
Do you guys know any reliable remote job site for cybersecurity
go look on google
I tried many places sir but i can't get any lead
tough perhap get more certs
Eris.. think I found the reason it didn't want to boot. There's no grub.. Rufus isn't the issue..when I go to boot options zorin is there, indicating it is installed but it doesn't want to directly boot into zorin
Rather wants me to go to boot options and boot from there..got it running on the SSD
Pretty OS ngl..
Now where do I find device manager on hefe
You can!
anyone with enough determination and resources is probably going to eventually get in, why would the FBI or NSA be interested in you and the OS you create, though?
Well ur gonna have to code for drivers..or else make a auto grabber for drivers
Needed to allow the hardware to run smoothly. So u can select the resolution u want
are u capable of going to youtube.com and asking said questions
if so u will learn a lot
Operating systems are cool. Just alot of works..
But don't let it discourage ya..u got this
Usually avx I'd run on 256 bit or a 128 bit processing. Due to.my.bootloader animated gradient. Which calls the GOP.. really cool..so after POST it calls the gpu to render. Not using umm(unified memory.managment) but an adaptive memory management system

what do i think about what
zorinos? never used it, dont know about it
the fact u fixed zorinos since you been having problems with it? congrats well done

I wouldn't say fixed cuzni can't directly boot into it. Assume the efi is missing or grub
ZorinOS is pretty nice.
It had a newer kernel when i used it than PopOS, but ended up on Arch(CachyOS) in the end.
Oh damn. that's cool, is cachy worth it?
The os change sorryš
at the time, yes, because i got a much newer kernel, which allowed me to play marvel rivals

You really should get out of the habit of asking Chatbots.. the short and long of it - yes and no.
Essentially no
Your "usb stick" could enter passwords, but it would not know when it was successful
what you are thinking about is colloquially known as "bad usb" device, and it has no back channel.. it just types blindly
you could, if you wanted to
but those are specialized devices.. not your usualy usb storage sticks
and yes, those can be attached to phones, too.. but those do actually lock pretty soon
chat I'm having a problem with my code in python
currently making a simple yt video downloader for training purposes and I'm confused by how I use the terminal to use pyinstaller
can anyone help?
yes
it is
iāve made them and at some point almost finished a yt tutorial on how to do it
but you canāt do it with a normal usb stick
be more specific
what are you struggling with
first of py installer is unnecessary and only lacks it into an exe
second of all
you just open the terminal/command prompt
and type pyinstaller and then the additional arguments for any configs you wanna do
and then the file name
after a few attempts
yes
thatās why brute forcing is the least efficient hacking method to exist

badusb devices are fantastic for awareness seminars, and you can do some fun stuff with them, but "brute force this login" is really not among them
I once wrote a badusb script to unlock those hardware keelog keylogger devices, if ever found in the wild.

youtube lied to you, with pretty much everything they presented to you. Those hacking channels are monetizing kids and young adults fascination portraying a world that is open to you if you just retype what they show you.. but those are pretty much all staged, faked, cut for engagement and making you sub to their channel.. thats the only reason they present it like its a secret they share with you
