I’m Sensei, and I’ve been into bug hunting on Bugcrowd for around 6–8 months now. I’ve been learning mostly from YouTube — especially Defronix Academy and a few other creators. Before this, I was working in a different domain, but after the company shut down, I decided to move into cybersecurity to build something stable for my future.
I don’t have proper learning facilities or mentorship, and even though I recently found a bug, it was only marked as informational. My two cents, you should start with exploring where you want to end up. If you don't have a good overview of the InfoSec realm yet, perhaps start with some of the free modules on THM or HTB. An understanding of computer basics and networking is required much sooner than programming and/or scripting.
It does help tremendously to understand code though. I dare say it's beneficial to have some knowledge on ANY programming language rather than none, because a lot of the logic is transferable. Python is a popular choice to start with

depends on what you will use it for

They offer nothing that Arch by itself doesn't offer.

You would want to focus on learning about OSes in general. Arch by itself is great at that, because it exposes everything to you. Eventually, you will want to learn about Debian/Ubuntu/RHEL anyways, which would be closer to the "answer 5 questions, click install" style of installing an OS that you are used to.

The things that Parrot/Kali/BlackArch/Whatever offer, are just pre-installed applications on top of other linux distros.

Imagine choosing to install a version of Windows from some random group, just because steam comes pre-installed on it or something.

You could just apt install nmap or pacman -S nmap or whatever, and install that nmap tool, or whatever tool you want to use. Is it nice that they exist for specific circumstances? Sure. Are they going to teach you how to use linux? Not really. Most of the tools you won't even know how to touch.
