Essentially everything will work somehow, unless it has some kernel-level copyright/drm shenanigans.. so the micro-payment, anticheat, kiddy-shooters are usually a drag or dont work at all

You can always just spin up a VM with any linux distro and try to get everything you want there

Yes, you can use an external HDD/SSD for your homelab. An SSD with USB 3.1/USB-C is best for performance. Just don’t eject it while VMs or systems are running, or they’ll crash/corrupt. If it only stores backups, ejecting is fine.

My pc worked perfectly but then randomly someday it stopped working, whenever i boot it up it doesnt show a display and when it does the screen freezes up, the fan also doesnt stop after the screen freezes.
