Clean wipe if it is newer, replace if it is older. As far as fixing corruption you could try the 3 times failed restart special repair menu for windows (windows recovery environment should allow you to run an admin terminal) and then try sfc and dism commands for repair, but I’m doubtful it will work.

If you are lucky you can get it running long enough to copy files but like I said, it’s not hopeful.

Could be a good time to upgrade if you are still on mechanical or ssd.

If you feel like you're ready to take the challenge and figure things on your own - start doing TryHackMe rooms, read write-ups if something goes wrong and make sure you learn something new every time you open a write-up

At some point you'll be able to solve them without write-ups. Get a premium and do some premium rooms as they have a better quality

When you feel like they're becoming too easy - move to HTB

also a sniper attack isnt the best here, it can only test one position at one time. each time you find a valid character you have to increment the position of the payload.

a clusterbomb would be better since you can test every permutation with multiple payloads, so you can use a number list to check every position in the password against every character in the alphanumeric list if that makes sense

Been running Ubuntu in a VM in order to not mess anything up on the site that's already live an active. in your torrc file you should have something like:

and that means in your apache config you should have something like:

Being able to program is just a tool. You should at least understand basic programming logic and be able to read code so you can understand what is happening in applicable scenarios. It’s more or less important based on what you’re trying to focus on.

Determine a project that you would like to do, that includes elements that crossover with cybersecurity.

Be it a python program that does something, or a server or environment you set up.

The great thing about homelabs is you can use it for cybersec, but you can also just use it to make your internal stuff nicer, like a server for documentation, or a way to sync files, or a way to share a resource. Heck, setup cyberchef to run locally or something like that for a fun practice. Set up a VPN that connects a VPS to you, so you can "port forward" while hiding your WAN IP.
