partitions is basically how you divide your storage to how much each operating system takes. so if you want to dualboot i'd advise learning how to do that. researching on partitoning can help you reduce the risk of creating problems within your drive

For example /dev/sda is a drive then /dev/sda1,2,3 are partitions

Dual booting is having 2 on the same system yep, you can install windows first, then Linux so you don't over write grub

Then use osprober to find where on your device the stuff gets installed

run “cat /etc/apt/sources.list” then if its empty then go online to find the correct format so apt can pull the correct repositories from the list

It's going to be a Memory issue. Make sure to put only one stick in that's working and compatable with the MOBO. Make sure it's in the correct slot and boot. If it still fails try a different stick that is known working. If both fail it could be a bad slot

Have the phone reset and wiped. then if the issues persist you can go through apple's RMA process which will result in her getting a different device since apple rarely sends "yours" back

The only thing i could think of when it comes to proof would be for the police to get involved and data forensics would need the device. If she just wants it to stop she can reach out to the cell carrier to confirm as well that her number is only calling out from that device to confirm there wasn't any SIM issues.

But a full reset will be needed.

Correct, The full reset and confirming with the cell provider that there isn't abnormal behavior associated with the number will be the "free steps"

Also make sure there are no apps that are syncing back to the device that she does not recognize if she's restoring it.
