For all of you looking for jobs in cyber the truth at least in the USA is that its a transition role. Soc positions and cyber security analyst jobs are entry level but very competitive. Higher level cyber teams are going to hire people with experience as network engineers/analysts | systems administrators or service desk specialists as they value job experience for these roles. The mindset is you know how to secure what you have worked with. So try not to be discouraged if you're not getting jobs other than SOC. I would recommend college if you want to go into management or a specialist role later on just due to HR requirements and auto filtering systems used in the hiring process. Look for feeder jobs then transition into Cyber.

hey guys im new to linux and ubuntu and ive been trying to learn more about network scanning and security i ran an nmap scan on my ip address but its showing that all 1000 ports are filtered with no response and the host appears to be down even after using -pn to skip the ping check its still not showing any open ports
is it possible for a system to have absolutely no open ports or is there something im missing with the scan results does this indicate some kind of advanced firewall or protection or could there be another reason for the response im getting
