I've come across a scam Facebook Ad today for our country, it's a site asking for you to pay money in order to get a PS5 for super cheap - this specific template is the earliest mention I found of this code. I found of repositories with essentially the same codebase with minor changes, so I figured it must come from some service or open-source software. Any ideas how to go further?

What would be better according to you as a starter point for noobies : Getting a college degree in cybersec(if possible)
OR
Taking a college degree related to computers and then start exploring cybersec field.

It's up to you but 2. could be a safer bet if you aren't already passionate about cyber.

Go to tryhackme and play around with it.

Try out other wargames like overthewire, picoctf, etc.

Maybe watch some defcon talks on youtube.

But getting a computer science degree, if you are already passionate about tech, and just exploring cyber in your free time is a totally legitimate pathway and plenty of people do it.

and based off your question I'd say you're already commited to the college route.

So its really just how passionate are you about cyber, if it is your thing and you have a degree path available to you then that could be an awesome choice.

If you are not 100% then there is nothing wrong with getting a solid foundation with a computer science degree and then or something similar and just playing around with it in your free time.

IT has many different jobs/specializations to choose from and it is a career that can allow you to jump from job to job, so don't feel like you'll be locked in once you start.

I personally started by building/fixing PC's for myself/associates > started getting certs > just got offered a helpdesk job > and just play around with cyber in my free time.

Kinda depends. Some stuff is for basic filtering, reserved addresses/ranges, etc. An example is a loopback address like 127.0.0.1, or a default gateway like 192.168.0.1, or the broadcast address 192.168.0.255 or a multicast address... all FF broadcast MAC... blah blah blah blah

sorta depends on the addresses you are seeing

alot of it is just basic vanilla configuration OOB

I think Udemy is running a flash sale right now. You could get a n10-009 course for pretty cheap. N10-008 is retired for certification but Mike Meyers[total seminars] is a great teacher and he has a video course for it. Not at all necessary but it you like the videos XD. Professor Messer is free and does n10-009 but he can be a bit dry and monotone. (N10 series is for CompTIA Network+, pretty simple stuff, great foundational knowledge, and if you felt like it you could take the exam afterwards.)

I am assuming you will be using a laptop. Google the make (Lenovo, Dell, HP, etc) and "how to access bios/uefi". You will find the process will be to boot up your computer and press a specified key repeatedly like del or f12 until you enter the bios screen. From that point you will want to change the boot order or manually select to boot from the bootable thumb drive you created. If you are stuck at that point then google "how to access boot menu [make of] laptop.

I'm not going to hold your hand through the whole process, buddy. You need to be able to google this stuff so you can know what you're doing. Setting up a baremetal linux should be a learning experience for you. Trust me, you'll thank me later for that.

Battery could need to be charged, battery could dead dead and need to be replaced, battery could be so dead that it causes problems when in system and works without it in system but plugged into AC. (sometimes overcharged/etc batteries can cause the system to become unstable while they are connected and simply removing them and solely running off of AC can isolate the issue.)

But it could also just be the power button.

You're gonna have to do some troubleshooting, man.

I know you previously had stated that you wanted this to be a bare metal installation of linux, but if this ends up being a crapshoot since it seems like you don't have much technical experience, then I would strongly consider installing a premade vm on something like oracle virtualbox at that point.

A premade kali vm and instructions regarding the process should be available on their website.

If you are determined to go bare metal then put your troubleshooting hat on, get ready to google a bunch of stuff, and enjoy the ride my friend.

It will be a learning experience.

Yes you can go into the BIOS without your bootable but it would be pointless. Your intention for entering the BIOS is to change the boot order so you can boot from the usb/ pick one time boot from USB. That will start the actual installation process.

I would reccomend reading the whole article before following through it so you understand the process.

its not really hot its at 5% use standby and GPU is at >1 % but the fans are running quite loud (I have all Noctunas so it should be quiet ) but maybe some Bios tweaking could help
