Wanting to get into cybersecurity, I have taken a few college classes within the field but dont know what certification to start with first to actually get into the field. Some areas I have seen say start with ITF+ and other say to start with A+, a couple have said start with Network+. What is yalls opinion with a good certification and or roadmap to follow to really get into the cybersecurity specialist field?

You should start with ITF+ if you completely don't have an understanding in IT in general. E.g computers, hardware

It really depends how much you know to skip to the ITF+ But usually people begin with A+>>NET+>>SEC+ as they already have IT foundational knowledge so no need to do ITF+. Additionally I think it's also good to have it appear on your CV @sage tide

it's gonna sound stupid but the whole point of cybersecurity is to make your intrastructure ''Secure" . Go out there and pull up updates/firewall , get better anti-virus and other stuff . Then rinse and repeat process check if situation repeats

I m a Mtech graduate, so programming is my hobby. I mastered python like for 2 yrs with projects. Then i did some imternships in between , for CEH and some with Palo Alto as they collaborated with our univeristy

Security+ or eqv (SecurityX would be a very good cert as its expert level)
Certified SOC Analyst (CSA)
That's mainly for certifications. I think you'd also need to have expertise in hands on activities involving Analysis and incident response etc.

Download the Iso you want, download and install the Raspberry pi imager. Connect the SD card to your PC. Open the Imager software. Provide the iso and click go. Once done, put the SD card back in the Pi and boot up

Right now I want to punch everything in the face. I have never used Arduino IDE before and trying to flash an ESP32-CAM. Every time I try uploading, I get a "A fatal error occurred: Failed to connect to ESP32: No serial data received." I have uploaded the driver (CH32) and it shows in Device Manager as a Serial/Comm device. There is a comm issue. Is there a bootloader button or procedure? I have tried forcing boot mode jumping the IO pins, tried using the 0OI button and reset button. No dice on anything. Also tried several esp32S Cam's and different computers/ports. I had my windows explorer ask for admin rights. I use arch linux as my daily driver so I thought it was windows being windows and didn't pay much thought.

Chances are you use the same email and password for both steam and Spotify and some site you used got hacked and info was sold. id say choose the distro with the logo you like the most

all of them are pretty much the same anyway as long as you know the basics

like some distros are debian based like kali

I’ll mainly use the laptop for work, programming, penetration testing, and other productivity tasks. It won’t be used for demanding gaming (only something like OG FF7 or Dead Cells) or heavy GPU tasks.

I’m looking for performance, good battery life, and solid build quality. I’m torn because the Gen 4 has a newer design, a larger SSD, and potentially better efficiency with the i5-1345U, but the Gen 3 has a more powerful i7-1270P, which might be better for running heavier applications.

What would you choose and why? Is there a noticeable difference between these generations in terms of build quality, cooling, or battery life? I’d love to hear your thoughts or experiences. Thanks in advance!!!
