Then all you need to do is power down your PC, unplug it.. press power button to ensure any residual charge is gone (maybe over the top).. take out the old card and put the new one in.

Windows will boot, it'll likely need to download drivers, but even without the drivers it'll boot and you can then go to the Nvidia site to download them, or just let Windows Update download them for you.

Hi, i am working on a simple chatting app to learn about e2e encryption. (using the diffie hellman exchange)
I had an issue tho regarding private key storage, and I’ve thought of a few approaches:

1. Server Storage: Store private keys on the server. This is convenient but presents a security risk.
2. Browser Storage: Keep private keys in the user's browser, but they could lose access when switching devices.
3. Encrypted Key Approach: Generate a key at registration, encrypt it with the user’s password, and store the hashed password. On login, decrypt the private key and store it in the browser for future use.

1. Change Password:

   passwd
   

   Follow prompts to set a new password.

2. Change Username:

   • Log in as root or use sudo su.
   • Change the username:

     usermod -l newusername oldusername
     

   • (Optional) Rename home directory:

     usermod -m -d /home/newusername newusername
     

3. Adjust Ownership (if needed):

   sudo chown -R newusername:newusername /home/newusername
   

Log out and back in with your new credentials!

i have a cybersec problem that is supposed to mimic incident response, and ls and cat have been disabled. I also cant find any system logs and journal is empty. How can I find what the damage is through just a command line that also has a program printing garbage every few minutes to it and I need to find where that is too?

guys 😭 my vmware workstation pro 17 (free verison) i used a kali linux virtual machine, but now when i boot up after login (i use gnome) it shows me a black screen, same on mac for me

So, I have a honeypot platform installed on my VPS, and I did notice some suspicious activity there since a while now.

I've been getting a large amount of DNS request from mostly Brazil IPs lately. The suspicious part being the IPs.

Normally I get many "attacks" from the same IP.
But with the Brazilian IPs lately, I've been getting a total of (in the last 24h) 900.000 attacks which 815.000 are from different IPs, mostly residential.

My question being, if anyone here knows what could be going on, I would appreciate it a lot.

Fundamentals are absolutely essential. I would say start with CompTIA certs like A+, Network+, and Security+, in that order. Learn command line (CLI) as this is practically mandatory if you’re gonna do almost anything in IT, but especially cybersecurity etc.

Linux knowledge is vital. So is Windows command line and PowerShell. As you can see there is a lot to take in and learn.

Once you have those done, you can move on to other intermediate certifications and courses, like PenTest+, and eJPT (if you’re interested in pentesting)
and/or CySA+.

These should give you a well rounded platform on which to build more advanced skills as you go along.

then after download and install open powershell or cmd
