Modern cheats know how to deal with it.
If a cheater's cheats stop working because of it, they will just get cheats that work.

The only outcome is less player base because its dumb to ask players to do it.

It also conflicts with 3rd party kernel level anticheats, so if you play games that use their own anticheats (maplestory, mu servers, some others... maybe faceit? I'm unsure about that one.) it means you have to uninstall said games in order to activate memory integrity.

I have helped a fair amount of people debug at this point.
It's a very few amount of people here who actually has incompatible hardware.
Most people just need to get rid of old drivers or update their firmware.
Some also might just have malware(Or cheats of some kind) on their PC that does not make it possible for stuff like memory integrity to stay on.
Honestly, this stuff is not really rocket science, but i get that many people aren't tech savy and just want to play games.
All this stuff is just newer windows security features, so ofc old drivers and firmware won't be compatible.

No and yes. It definitely sucks for all the people who has problems and struggle with this stuff, and it sucks for those who experience a hit on their performance. But these are features that are generally becoming required for games and other applications as well.
Memory Integrity essentially stops malware from injecting/modifying code on a kernel level, Secure Boot verifies software on startup, TPM(Which most people have) is a hardware security chip that is like a central trust center on a hardware level.

We all SHOULD have this stuff enabled. and most of us can, its just that updating firmware and deleting outdated drivers isn't a click of a button, which would be a good feature for windows tbh.

Following their guide to turn on those settings worked for the most part, but once I got the secure boot part a restart was required and ever since my PC will either go to desktop or just stay on a forever blackscreen if I hold del on bootup to get back into bios. Like i said, the performance issues and blocking off players who dont meet certain standards does not do much good for the game, since cheaters already have ways around the system and all it does is bloat the game with unnecessary CPU usage

Built in security features on a hardware and firmware level. Yes, its annoying if you don't update/maintain your PC.
And it even sucks more if you motherboard is outdated, but then its like from 2018 or older.

I understand the frustrations, but these are security features that are probably default with newer hardware.
IM can't really concern themselves with people who use outdated hardware or can't be bothered to get rid of old drivers, or update their BIOS.

I get it, its annoying and frustrating. But Dark and Darker is not the first game to require stuff like HVCI enabled.

Its not Dark and Darker really. HVCI will make your CPU do more work because of operations being isolated and integrity checks.
My CPU is a ryzen 5 3600, its from 2019. My dark and darker is only between 20-30%.

and there's nothing "Outdated" about pre-2018 pcs. Not having a hardware component that is rarely used doesn't make it outdated. You could easily run the game with 100+ fps, especially with engine ini tweaks.
All the new requirements can be bypassed, just takes slightly more effort from cheat devs
