i dont fully agree, there is some baiting involved, mind games, and mechanics

its very unforgiving if you miss a swing

and you can dodge a lot of attacks and block

which all of these do require skills. i would only say the spamming abilities strictly towards druid players

that class is so abused

the amount of times ive been ratted in hr trying to 1v1 near extraction by a druid is so frustrating as just starting the game. its so dumb that they can easily interfere/mob dump you with no penalties

Mostly movement-centric, so it's mostly a speed check on corners, and on the chase, rather than an ability/gap-closer check from using your abilities better. I don't think an FPS/ping check with spaming your mouse around and draging your swing is very consistent and engaging gameplay for a new player. If anything, make players commit to swings, and not be able to drag it around.

Checking one of Skinnypete's most recent vids for his stat spread on HIS barb build, hes got 45str, 28vig, 32agi, 21dex. He's using slower weapons (zwei and double axe) andI was wrong on true phys. he's got headshot and armor pen on his jewelry. if your homie hits headshots with his felling he might consider add phys... otherwise just run more raw dmg rolls (HS%, Armor Pen, Dmg Bonus)

Yes, I think that removing Continuous Dungeon would indeed go a long way towards returning to the 'Feel' of the game that was there before - wipe a lobby and you're clear for the rest of the game.
However this would result either in longer queue times or like ... adding bots to fill the lobbies / empty lobbies. If there was a way around it (or heck, just simply a player base 10x larger than what it will be at the start of the wipe) it would be a great change.

I don't want to get too into the weeds with this since it starts to get even more legalese-y than it already is... but neither the 1st court nor the 2nd appellate court prohibited Ironmace from using their alleged trade secrets learned during their employment at Nexon. The lower court hit some of their profits (unjustly, from a US law perspective). The appellate court freed up their profits but still noted that trade secrets may have been infringed.

To be clear, there's no precedent to set that would change that. US law (and presumably Korean law) prohibits you from learning specific skills, that could only have been gained at a specific place of employment, and then immediately opening up a competing company using those skills. That's not a precedent that a court can weigh in on - it's set in stone by the Korean govt.

If the supreme court case goes forward, Ironmace would argue that they never used specific skills from Nexon. They would not argue that it's okay to use specific skills. They'd be seeking a very narrow ruling from the highest court.

Around 2 years ago, I played day and night. I woke up to play, when I slept I dreamed of playing, and when I wasn’t playing I talked about what we were going to do when we play.

Dark and darker we called it darker. Play darker, wanna play darker? Darker? Play? Rdy? Play play play.

Happiness from killing that first Ghost King. Sadness from dying with a bunch of good shit.
Adrenaline when we fought 2-3 teams in trio.
Laughing at some random shit in VOIP lobbies, pickpocketing arrows from some ranger.
Anger when a patch dropped and my class got nerfed.
Excitement for a new map, a new patch, new quests.
Pure joy when you hit that parry.

That stupid frog “gentleman” meme every week or so. Frustration when a random betrayed you we were all cutthroats, thieves, and murderers. I loved it all.

Damn, so many emotions. Gentlemen, it has been an honor holding the line with you.

There is an old saying in my country: when you defend, you don’t worry about the army attacking you, you look back to see what you are defending. And well… it hardens me to say this, but what is behind me is no longer worth it.

Maybe one day I will pick up my longsword again. But for now... my watch has ended.

Uhh wow! A distinguished guest has come to our module after finishing campfire. I heard the sound of the door, and when I came over I saw that it was a distinguished guest. Is the ecology so good? He is not unique yet, they are extremely rare and usually found instantly. He is still alive ha ha ha ha hasa ha hafa ahaha afasarabaaauuu naiyy In Forgotten Castle, only Ruins has Cockatrice, Ruins' ecology is amazing, this is the national bird of Forgotten Castle, it's not that the ecology is so good, it's that the midnight curse has taken over the Ruins, so they have begun to move into the Crypts. A slime and a cockatrice came to my module today. I saw them but felt sad for them S D F!

I, as any sane person, am afraid of barbarians, specifically fighting and approaching them. As such, I’d like some tips to help me avoid prolonged engagements with that class. I’d like to avoid all interaction, but I know that I’d at some point need to push and or defend against and interact with barbs within the dungeon, so I’ve devised a plan to help me isolate myself as best as possible, while still keeping my money up, from barbs. I cannot have more than 5 seconds to attack each in a one on one conflict with a barb. Now, this only is targeted to barbarians, so fighters, rangers etc. don’t count. If say, my opponent in combat gets to their 6th second and I’m on my 5th, I just need to swiftly rat form, or do something to get out of it while not fighting them, like maybe turning around and doing that thing the discord does and yell about balance and quit. S D F!

The amount of times i completely outplay a longsword user with my halberd but get oneshot anyways is fuckin pathetic. There's no justification to this state of longsword, every fuckin class that can run longsword is running longsword because it's just so fuckin broken nothing even comes close to it, every other weapon is hot dogshid compared to longsword, it has a very meagre movement speed penalty of -30 despite being a two hander and doing more damage than MANY TWO HANDED WEAPONS (zweihander (insanely tiny raw damage difference), spear etc.), it needs to have lower base damage and atleast 25% reduced damage on parries, the game is genuinely fuckin unplayable if you're not running longsword, stop coping, this shit is not fuckin balanced nor fair, look around you, everyone and their mother is running longsword FOR A REASON. Nerf longsword and make every other fighter weapon viable iron hammer!

Dark and Darker is an amazing game as stands, there's a reason I play it to this day since playtest, but here's my first two cents in a time where I think this game could use some pennies from the players.

Honestly, a lot of people liked the game more when it's wasn't as known. Getting to hell was and adventure in itself and surviving was not a guarantee. Only a few players were managing to survive long enough to get gear that mattered and most of the people didn't know much about the game, dying to traps and weak mobs.

bro there is an epidemic of druids in HR ruining it for most. theyve made rules to arena that kinda screws over anyone interested. about a month from wipe they made everyone toss theyre arena kit and dfidnt notice how bad that hurt the player pop. Arena felt like the end of the game play loop for me and they just kinda took it in the back room and murdered it.

i think SDF doesnt like or care for how successful arena was and doesnt want it to take from the main game so he gives it little attention. when really its whats holding the game up. look at the game play loop. who want to endlessly go into a dungeon looking for treasure to buy better weapons just to go back into the same three maps and repeat repeat repeat. mile wide inch deep gameplay. arena is why i still logged
