it's a 4 day arena event at the end of a season, it's essentially a competition to see who accumulated the most wealth/gear and has the skill to back it up

naturally it's going to be less appealing to the vast majority and yeah if IM wanted an event that appealed to the broadest audience that event would not be it

however considering the end of the wipe usually dies down to a barebones dedicated population anyways it kind of makes sense to give them a once in a wipe opportunity for bragging rights with everything they've accumulated from the wipe on the table whereas casual friendly events make more sense to be available throughout wipes like last seasons quest reward artifacts

Related to the slow vs fast topic and dagger rogue destroying a full plate fighter, i think 2 handers remain at a HUGE disadvantage compared to 1 handers. Id like to see them implement something like increased hit slow based on the base dmg of the melee weapon. This way, something like a halberd could maintain effective range more easily instead of getting rushed and out dps-ed by a dagger.

The whole point of having a longer weapon is that you can maintain effective distance but there isnt a good way to do that in DaD since 2 handers make you mega slow and swing mega slow.

Another semi-related idea is to make walking with a 2 hander initiate the 1st half of the initial atk animation as if youre preparing to strike. This way your 1st swing isnt so damn slow at least
