They gonna have to** combine normal/HR into one lobby** to streamline the game and lobbies. Whites on first floor, reds on second floor, black on 3rd floor.

Get rid of water map for now, build out 3 layers on each map. — including making the water map into a 3-layer map and testing bed for full map randomization and map experiments before re-introduction.

Combine duos/trios into one game category, if needed.** Get rid of rags to riches**, it's a pointless battle royale mode, that is just a crappy battle royale. Just make the main game fun, and stop diluting the main experience. GET THE MAIN GAME RIGHT FIRST.

It should just be PvE mode, then the real game mode (normals + HR combined) — with isolated characters and markets to their game mode.

Combine maps into a map pool for long-term scalability, planning for additional maps in the future (but i don't advise adding more any time soon)

Boom** 24 lobbies** (4 maps, 3 party sizes, 2 major game modes) into 2 lobbies (1 map pool (3 good maps), 2 party sizes, 1 major game mode).

If map pool is unplayable, then at least the party size and game mode reduction will reduce lobbies to 6-8 instead of 24.

It kind of works as a stepping stop towards the real game experience, but I think it should have more incentives to play the actual game. Like out-of-game progression limits that can only be exceeded through the pvpve mode

What I'd have most experience with would be warlock and warlock for sure has been pigeonholed a few times into one playstyle, with the others being completely locked out.

I don't think it's like that at all right now though, but for example TM, Demon form and Dark offering playstyles have all been locked away at certain points in time.

We already had the tavern we're discussing, it was removed. Restoring something that was already in the game without problems, especially if it's a paid service where players are covering the hosting costs, can only increase player interaction in a positive way. Why shouldn't you be able to inspect people's gear? We're not talking about the old pre-raid tavern lobby where everyone you're looking at is about to be your enemy, we're talking about a social gathering hub where you meet, hang out with, and recruit other adventurers. It's just a three-dimensional space that serves the same purpose as the current gathering hall, which does allow you to freely inspect people. There's no combat advantage being given here.

@hexed adder what if after character select you spawned straight into a small camp instead of menus. you’d spawn standing still, already in the existing UI, gear and queue like normal, but when you’re done you could back out and walk around your camp. hit a training dummy or just hang out while your party finishes up. one step further, it could even have a physical gathering hall you can go to, which would bring back some of the social presence i miss from the old pre-game lobbies and could make things like guilds easier to achieve. the main idea is that nothing gets slower — it just gives space for party presence that menus don’t really support, and it mostly reframes existing UI rather than adding new systems.

Depending on how it was structured in their game, removing that pre-game lobby may have been for in gmae performance or server related performance. (Depending on if it was a separate lobby before the game or attached to the main map during a lobby's filling period.) Could have also just went to the way of having quicker in and out times for games. I sure do miss petting the dog in the pregame lobby though.
