I think summon items should work just like keeys right now.
Kill champ/wraith, etc. to get a new item. Use that item to find boss room. You can still stumble upon the boss room, but need 2 items (one from each subboss type) to activate the bosses in the crypts and inferno.

No more red stairs, if you want to go down, both Banshee and Spectral Knight must be killed. This means that some adventurers would need to work together to go deeper. Sure you can PvP them while they boss, but then you risk resetting or getting the aggro (boss aggro would need a rework) or straight up not having enough time to kill the boss before the end of the match.
Single red portals could still appear. Single use, and you'd have to find and secure three before the full trio team going down. Not as safe than an open, multi-use stairs.

Some kind of uneasy alliance forms, and more people learn the banshee

And a passage from one room to the other opens (like in GC, .but with no loot between) to easy / safe access and travel.
And you can wait for the other team there
