The housing and social features are what will make Dark and Darker stand out from its competitors in the future in my opinion.

The scope that IM has for the game seems to cover a lot of things that competitors outright will not aim to compete with DaD with.

I believe there may be a good amount of competitors that have the chance of beating out dark and darker in the immediate sense, the dungeon delving experience, an arena mode, what players want out of a game like this, etc. given the content scope currently available.

I think competitors are gunning to compete with the main loop, the main vibe and overall gameplay experience and feel.
However, I believe the full scope of what IM actually wants to achieve is a little bit larger of a scope than what these new projects seem to be aiming for.

That the social features such as guilds and housing features such as gathering hall will be part of what differentiates dark and darker going forward, as similar titles establish themselves.

I'm not sure that it means DaD will succeed long term, but I do think that even if there are better immediate alternatives, there will likely never be a title that aims to compete with the scope and vision Ironmace has for their game, but instead the current experience the game provides, has provided in the past & what it promises to provide in the immediate future.

IM will have a really hard time bringing anyone back long term with any immediate change in the short term imo bc of stuff like this, people pleasing wont work bc there will be other competitors with higher rapport already aiming to please disgruntled dad players, I think IM has no choice but to lock into their decisions and move forward, as no matter what they do, the immediate seems to be rather inconsequential.

I generally agree. I think it's also important to enrich the dungeon experience in the main content and make it more enjoyable. Strengthening the interrelationships between content will attract a more diverse user base and improve the gaming experience with friends. It might be more fun to add more interrelationships, like in MMOs or casual PVE games.

Tried to give a chance to the sorcerer in normal... its IMPOSSIBLE because of landmine rogue. 3 partied. Fair 1vs1 arena, direct fight, no boring mob cleaning. It will.be really cool.

I'm sure im in the minority, but I just love the game for the dungeon crawling experience it offers. Yeah PvP can be fun and lucrative but it also comes with risk as it should. It was nice to learn and perfect mobs in HR PVE without worrying about someone running you down too. I think they need to take the Ranks away from PvE HR. As Far as PvE HR goes, even running 200+ luck I wasnt getting crazy legendaries dropping. Yeah I'd get one once in awhile but most were like 200g lol. You make like 1200-1800g a run on HR PvE compared to PvE 600-1200g.

HR PVE spectate timer serves no purpose. In PVP, it prevents players from communicating information to other players still ingame, so they dont get hunted for their goodies. If we could watch the entire duration of an HR PVE match, new players could learn more strategies for handling nightmare mobs...

Its funny, I used to run shapeshift mastery on druid... wouldn't queue without it. Then they made it so I can't run my nature spells. I need those, especially orb of nature and restore. So I played without it, and its actually BETTER. The delay in shapeshift makes some of my combos easier to manage. less finger gymnastics
