the issue is i tried every character just enough to understand the gameplay loop but not improve (havent tried barb or fighter though) and nothing really clicked.

I really like the music and buffing aspect of bard.
I also like being support as priest and being able to revive but i dont really like close range since i cant block or dodge well.
Druid is.. cool i guess but i dont like shapeshift much.
Wizard, Sorc and Warlock are.. weird? like i like magic stuff in games but for the first time i didnt enjoy it in a game.
Ranger was funny a bit maybe ill make a second account with trap gameplay as a joke?
Rogue was not fun at all for me.

Thats why i asked whats the least played since i couldnt decide which class to learn the ins and outs of the game.

I think you should try EVERY class and get good at every single one of them. Try out every single perk and skill until you find something that satisfies you. You mentioned not trying barb or fighter and those two are great ones to play, barb being easier since they have more hp making them more resilient

The hardest class is any melee class right now. Rangers are currently meta and will kill you if you cannot reach them, therefore many rangers being in the game right now. The barb has easy to learn mechanics, though, so he isn't necesarrily a difficult class to learn, just a hard one to use at the moment. And for this game, sticking to one class and mastering them is the only way to go to actually learn pvp, because if not, you'll be stuck on that gameplay loop you're mentioning. Fighter with longsword is a decently hard mechanic to learn as well, as the parry has a unique system and it has a lot of crazy mechanics that you can search up on youtube, with people deadass doing a whole 180 degree turn to parry and kill.

fighter has the perk of being able to use crossbow. That can help with range for sure if you land shots. Along with that, the melee fighting specifically with longsword can be super complex if you want hard to learn.

Another class that seems difficult to learn is also sorcerer. His spell combos are really complex to start, but when you get the hang of it, he's super badass

fighter can use bows and crossbows, both fighter and barbarian have move speed enhancing abilities too to catch people; if you go into lobbies with the current gear system you will probably see the majority of the lobby being killed by barbarians

The simplest pvp is barbarian. All he does really is swing an axe. I'd say he's a good way of learning melee-melee combat.
But since you want difficult, the fighter with longsword is a pretty complex class and worth a try

there is no clear pathway, they have kept trying to force the square shape through the round hole and shelving it when it doesn't work. They then come back 2 months later to try and jam it through again. They removed gear modifiers, put them back in after a week, now they did it again. The death circle in game has been added and removed a few times now aswell. We are stuck in an endless loop.

the only way to win 1v3 is if the enemy team monumentally messes up. If all 3 of them rush you, you are dead. The only classes that have a chance in 1v3's are ranged ones that everyone hates because of the movespeed meta. And even then, you would just be stuck harrassing them and ruining the match since you cannot push to finish them off.

the blocking perks also work with the longsword and help even after you stop blocking as its a buff, ie movespeed when you block lets you move faster for a few seconds after you have successfully blocked an attack. shield mastery also helps with your attack speed it only states that it increases action speed for blocking but it gives you raw action speed so you can use it to attack too

I have thought of the idea that balancing solos servers idnividually would be the ultimate way to go, quite literally the best thing sdf ever thought of, I agree among many other people, even content creators who pitched the idea. I was so saddened though because I felt like the idea of having individual balance changes depending on solo-trio lobbies would have been impossibly difficult for sdf to even fathom to accomplish. Him mentioning it now, however, really surprised me pleasantly, however I am still doubting him until he implements this change and works through with it. i like how "deadly" the pve is again at the very least due to the lower TTK health pools, people getting one tapped by skelly crossbow headshots makes sense and makes the dungeon feel dangerous, silver lining; but yes bossing being in static modules is lame, there need to be roaming bosses or even no guaranteed boss in the module rotation AND fog of war being brought back, so people dont rush boss modules, bosses arent the only thing dropping uniques, quests dont require you to kill a boss etc. a lot of systems rely on boss kills but it just becomes a game of "Wait for team to kill boss then rush them", it needs to be more dynamic and not necessary in the first place

the game isnt built for open world type exploring. Its the same map, same modules, same chests, same mobs. Intriducing random modules doesn't make it more 'novel' it makes it more tedious. Static maps allow everyone to accomplish what they want, when they want. I have to disaagree with you sekundes

i dont like it being the main POI that people speed run through modules and PVE to get to first, which then encourages camping outside of the boss room waiting to third party; its not dynamic, kills the gameplay loop when you can kill a boss in squire gear and ignore all chests and looting opportunities, etc. etc. its a bad incentive, fog of war alleviated this a bit, I understand people like static maps and hate fog of war but random elements is what keeps the game fresh, not everyone is SkinnyPete who can find enjoyment rushing Skeleton Warlord eight hours a day

@distant comet hmmm...dude...people enjoy fighting bosses. Though i agree with the camping. I always thought the bosses could do something along the lines of "The Wyvern breathes a giant wall of ice around the arena, no one is alowed to get in until the players inside who started the fight die or kill the boss. And even when they do, they have about 3 minutes before the ice wall melts away, allowing players to come inside.
They can leave at any time after killing the boss, but when they leave, everyone will be allowed to get in as well, cuting the 3 minutes short.

I think that`d solve the boss camping thing, though it might bring other problems.
Any thoughts?

spawn rushing is a problem yes, so if random modules is to alleviate that fine. but for other reasons nah man. @distant comet ofc your gonna have people camping outside bosses becuase thats where the $$$ is. Noone will camp you in a random module for your chest loot because the loot isnt good. They will camp you regardless of where the boss is becuase thier goal is to clear in. The 'zone' in HR stopped some from doing that but then you load into a game and cant reach your boss because your way to far

The problem with high TTK is buff balls and classes that can run away and heal easily, but they do need to reduce the PvP damage, you should need 4/5 arrows on a longbow to kill someone on body shots, people shouldn't get one shot unless the gear difference is insane, but I'm getting vibes that SDF is already working to release the next season with those changes

brother im coding my own game currently and near release, ive dealt with countless networking issues and general gameplay issues, i am VERY familiar with their issues, and when to diagnose an issue caused by networking. which they have lied about/or just been to lazy to properly test. many of their issues i know can be fixed by changing a few bools and variables, a lot of the issues are blown out of proportion and could easily be fixed. you clearly are not familiar and are blindly taking them at their word. keep on defending them without know what your talking about

Thats the difference in player type that causes the community disagreement, im one of those people that doesnt like doing the same shit over and over and over. I like random elements, random layouts, enemy placements, exploration, looting, etc. A lot of DaD players however enjoy the static maps, map knowledge, static placements, going in with a clear objective and beelining, and farming the same boss over and over and over and over and over. I just don't enjoy that kind of style, so I enjoyed the game again when chests were worth looting again (self found) and fog of war was still in, essentially beginning of Season 6.

The argument of of course there is camping outside boss rooms because thats where the loot is IS the point. That's the problem. We are not talking about a dungeon crawler anymore then, its a first to boss and first to kill boss simulator because thats where the best drop is. The rest of the dungeon may as well not exist, pve may as well not exist because people just run past it all. etc. etc. The dungeon needs to be the game, not the boss in the dungeon.

ok, while you`re right that people go there because that's wheere the loot is, there could be a middle ground where other modules are buffed. And i don't mean random chests. Just adding multiple points of interests in the map where a great ammount of loot can be found, therefore, creating the incetive of looting other modules if they're close by instead of the boss.

Also, the whole "camp-blocking" mechanic i mentioned could be a fix of "oh darn, someone got to the boss before me, welp, there are a few intersting modules nearby, imma do'em.

There's no need to remove bosses, simply add more intersting modules that are worth it.

I suppose the the fog does offer some protection and @lunar edge I like this idea, lets add more incentives around the map! YUP, those would be so interesting.
A golden magical chest on top of a giant pyramid module, when interacted, it starts shinning a giant beacon that can be seen through the sky. As time goes by, the loot of the chest becomes grander and grander, but the moment there aren't any players in the pyramic, it ends and opens. Players can interact with it to end it's effect early (if there aren't any enemy players in the pyramid, otherwise it is blocked).
After the full time runs (or someone opens it early) the chest spits out piles of gold, with loot being as good as a lion's chest, a treasure hoard, or even a boss.

Then idk, something that can be interacted...a flag or something...when you interact with it. You are carrying the flag and can't attack.
In your map, another POI is highlighted, where you must deliver the flag. When done so, something opens and you receive a great ammount of loot.
But....i don't know...maybe the players can see the flag in the map, and they can try and get it. Or to be more fair, every minute, the flag pings.

AND the place where the flag has to be placed cannot be identified by someone unless they're carrying the flag (so no one can camp the delivery point).

God, why aren't there things like this in the game!!!????

not sure how long that is. For me its been about a year. And for me, I have gone from being scared of the mobs, to being terrified of hell, to now finding it tedious to clear and wanting pvp. If you've been playing for a while and still enjoy the chest looting, good for you man. It would be hard to have both of us enjoy the game to the same level we once did at the same time.

I started off grinding lions heads and golden chests and looting etc. But for me pvp and artifacts was the payout for my work.

Because those are the only options we have, my entire argument up to this point is that the static nature of the game does nothing to alleviate this. How can you realize that you have been pigeonholed into bossing because everything else has grown stale and not see randomization as a solution? Of course this would also go hand in hand with a new questing system, incentives to explore other modules, harder pve, etc. etc. Which I'm sure anyone with a brain has suggested and leads to the frustration where the game development has revolved around balancing instead of making the dungeon scary again. That is why I loved Patch 69 and I like this reset again, of course that doesn't mean I like the state of loot, it means I like that they realize that balancing has completely halted any improvement on the game systems.

i hate to say it but I thought this too and its very wrong. The gear is issue is blown way out of proportion by SDF to justify this extreme change. every modifier needed a nerf, and scaling on the high end needed to be reduced but other than that the combat in game was very fun. You could outskill and beat people in better gear (as long as the class matchups weren't awful, some classes do counter others in this game) and if people had more stuff to do in the dungeons we already had then nobody would even care and we would all still be enjoying the game.

I thought this might be a good idea too a few days ago but ive actually thought about it a good bit since then and this is all completely unesseccary and they caused it by constantly tweaking numbers instead of being actual game developers and making their game funner with more depth and stuff to do.

Removing modes that 60/70% or players played, and then spanking most classes into the ground kills numbers and money

Recall that i said baseline, obviously modifiers to some extent need to be reintroduced. But putting all of the gear on equal footing allows them to do what they should have done a long time ago, flesh out older classes, balance all classes around this baseline, and then introduce modifiers slowly to make sure things dont get back to where it once was.

Sdf kitchen post gives me some relief. I think he acknowledges the sever fault the game has no with its current gear system and lack of soloq. However the need to balance the game for shitty players so that they have a good experience is very low teir resolution. Simple answer to every game is to get better. Invest time into the game. become mechanically better. The hand holding for gamer dads and kids needs to stop. having a high skill ceiling allows for players to flex their ability to win fights. Dont dumb down a game so that everyone is on the same playing field. Apart of the process of enjoying any game is becoming better at it. Continually progressing your skills along the way. its clear the SDF doesn't have this mode of thinking when developing his game. it sad because I cant think of any other game where catering to bad players pays off.

I found the outdated Doc that contained evverything for GC and the forgotten castle and im like, "oh wow thats a lot, but maybe they made ice caves themselves and that is why content is taking a while"

This is just wrong. The game was best when there was a progression of gear score lobbies so you could play commons if you wanted to have the even playing field and hr actually meant something. Now hr is just a bunch of grey gear players trying to get money, often getting one shot by mobs. Stupid streamers complained about dead lobbies and suddenly it became important to squish them all into one pool and they made gear meaningless to try and appease the noobs. Just add back a diverse range of gear score brackets and it would be fine. The problem now is, the lobbies would 100% be super dead because all those players who enjoyed that have since uninstalled and wont be coming back. So yeah its frocked and SDF ruined his game hard

its been well established that IM purchases models because they have admitted to lacking the experience/ dev time to be able to build models from the ground up. At the end of the day, almost every model in the game is a purchased asset and has been for a long time, but those are just a framework for the other mechanics such as Mob AI, attack behavior, interactions, ect.

Feedback - Multi Classing sucks. The idea of mastery could be alright.. good luck solving your item acquisition problem without making items impactful. The idea of a PvP game where brand new players should be equally as good as players with underd or thousands of hours invested sounds like a boring .io game. I think you are all hitting the full reset button and have lost 90% of your playerbase. Goodluck in building a new one, hopefully the funds are there to weather the storm for the bounceback.. assuming it ever comes.

I tried playing one class at time in the end I ended up liking Sorc, Ranger and Bard.
I would do like some of the guys said, like play one of the classes you like until you get bored and find the one that doesn't bore you
I personally refuse to play Fighter or Barbarian, but I at least played enough to understand the basic of the other classes

My fighter is there just to be a quest item deposit, because that's what that class deserve, and Barbs don't even deserve to exist so I don't have one.

Knowledge for casting faster and Will for damage, this is the basic, Warlock is good to have curse mastery and power of sacrifice and curse of pain and of course some Magic Healing gear, the head and the gloves.
You can get more info in the class channel, like #bard if you can't see the wizard/warlock go up in the discord and click in the show all channels and roles, that way you can unlock the channels

It took me about 8 hours of play time before I got my first cave troll kill playing solo. I had to learn to fight off everyone else, and then take him down, and get out. It was hard, and I sucked, but I got better and eventually I learned how to do it. The satisfaction from setting the goal and accomplishing it is why the game was fun. Now it's just a total waste of time, since loot was made irrelavent due to all the ways to 1 shot people with squire gear.

People talk about numbers a lot in this Discord, but they never actually use math. It's a bit worrisome — it's just basic stuff. Each map can hold up to 18 players, which means 6 parties of 3. So if you want all the lobbies full, assuming an even distribution, you'd need around 54 players. If you count all the floors, it could go up to 108, but that’s kind of insane. I don’t see that many people going down — most of the fighting happens on the first floor anyway.
Most servers will be full in normals and PvE all day, HR is something else this one really depends.
