Agree, which is why it's more important than ever to not hemorrhage players. The better solution to the money/server woes than pissing of over half the player base would be more content as you say, and better shop/skins. Get the people playing and willing to buy some decent stuff again. Not cut out the most populated modes, do no content building and still run it like a mobile game.

And also can we PRAISE IM for once for how good the balance ACTUALLY was in all of the brackets they removed. Solo Duo Trio its the best balance we have ever had, but obviously just in gear brackets. Druids still cheese but it wasnt a plague anymore, Landmines were not a problem in the blue/purple or GS brackets. Barbs before the weapon and savage buff was in the best place ever imo. No ranger trap meta, warlock was only busted in open gs... well now its all gone anyway lol

Absolutely. But that will never happen. I personally think they are panicking about something, and are desperately trying to reduce server costs without completely killing the game. But what they've done, is pretty much accelerate the dying. Even taking out solos/duos in HR and rotating the other modes map to drastically reduce the queues would be better than this.

I played CS my whole life and it has always been 5 v 5 with auto-fill, so I am not too concerned about that, dad is perfectly playable in trios, so I don't see it as a game killer, but IM absolutely suck at timing updates and easing the blows that come from updates like this

Every single update that happened between steam release and 2 months ago, which was dictated by what players wanted and expected eventually got voided and we're following the original vision for the game

We haven't went past 11k on steam in quite a bit. . . . . That being said 6000 logged off almost instantly after seeing the removal of solo/duo normals. Sooo didn't really gain any new players because of that. Just "Demo" and drop. But there are a few out there.

We recently reduced Normal mode to Trio-only. At that time, we chose to set the item limit to Rare—even though we were aware that doing so might not be ideal given the current level of gear disparity, but that is what we wanted to test. The reason was to test whether randomly matched teams could still play well under such conditions.

Previously, the matchmaking pool was too fragmented, especially at higher gear levels, making it difficult to even conduct proper testing as random matchmaking often failed to find a party or required too much time.

Although the new Normal 'Rare' pool mechanically succeeded in forming parties, it did not performing as well as we wanted due to the still too large gear gap and the diverse objectives of the party members. Additionally, the lack of in-game communication tools further contributed to these issues.

As a result, we plan to change the item restriction in Normal mode to 'Common' rarity and maintain that setting throughout this season. The more limited power range for starting items should better align party expectations until we can directly address the item gap issue.

High-Roller mode is currently divided into Solo, Duo, and Trio queues, a structure designed to accommodate players participating in the Adventurer Rank. Once the Adventurer Rank ends, these queues will be merged into a single Trio pool. At that point, we hope to offer a wider range of communication tools to better support cooperative play.

I think an issue on the forum is that the meta is usually formed around which classes are the best at stat- checking. Gamers dont seem to have the patience to not take every fight head on. It bothers me to no end.

Simple fact is, this has made the problem it tried to fix. Worse for all servers instead of just one. I get the goal, but once it was seen to fail it should of been fixed. Not made worse.

Note that I use to only play duo and solo, and I'm somewhat sad about the removal, but I think it might be the sensible thing for them to do, SDF did mention that they couldn't balance all three modes at the same time.

One of the main concerns for many players, sweaters are in many case toxic. Dying to toxic players with no way to fight back is a horrible game design.

I still think solos is a pretty good idea cause some people prefer to learn the game solo and will then switch to team play and HR. If you get people to enjoy the dungeon crawling part of the game some people will definitely choose to play the PvP part of the game

Solo is fundamentally different from trios, a good solo player isn't necessarily a good trios player, if you want to learn the game, there's the pve mode, if you want to learn pvp, there's the normals, if your want to play the game it's HR
