it will also divide the playerbase, divert attention from other game problems because now they have a new mode to balance/create. the playerbase is pretty low even when its not close to wipe. epic delist lost a good chunk of people as well. pve mode isnt a bad idea. but as a whole seperate gamemode thats where it starts to worry me. its not a doubt that it will bring in more players. but realistically, how many will it? they dont really advertise the game as of lately, i dont see a pve mode making a huge difference in the playerbase. and if its not a huge difference, then the effect its going to have on queue times and matchmaking will be really bad.

How would you see this PvE mode? I'll stop dooming and start making suggestion.

Here's how I see it :

• A 3x3 map with at least one boss room
• FoW, Randomized dungeon
• You can only drop gear with a slightly lower drop rate than normal, the gear dropped in PvE mode can only be used there and you can only use gear found in this mode. Maybe setup something with the Squire, a PvE Gearset
• 3-4 people in solo, 2-3 team in duo, 2 team in trio (For server cost, can't open a server for one team)
• The boss room can't be open from the outside after the fight start (So the first team to reach it have a fair try)
• Not sure about this one but, always one floor (to minimize server cost). If you choose PvE mode in Forgotten castle you randomly get Ruins, Crypt or Inferno. Need to figure out something for Ice cavern

From the friends I've introduced to the game, the biggest issue is how nervous they are with the prospect of having to defend themselves from hostile enemy players, which deters them from wanting to continue learning to play the game since they have it in the back of their mind that they can die pretty much out of nowhere if they aren't paying attention at every moment or using movement optimally.
These kinds of players don't have the experience with the game that the rest of us take for granted, for knowing roughly the attack patterns of each mob type, where more or less loot may spawn, where extraction points are, so for them to have to learn all these mechanics without dying to mobs on top of fearing seeing other players is a big turn-off for them.
This PvE mode, as Odin has stated, may see reduced loot but not none, and this mode will of course continue to be tweaked depending on how the market reacts to it if items from it may become marketable. Overall, it's a way for new players to learn the game and enjoy a more casual experience with the dungeons still being difficult to tackle head-on.

How do you see this PvE mode? I personally don't think it's a good idea, but hey they're doing it anyway so let's start making suggestion.

Here's how I see it :

• A 3x3 map with at least one boss room
• FoW, Randomized dungeon
• You can only drop gear with a slightly lower drop rate than normal, the gear dropped in PvE mode can only be used there and you can only use gear found in this mode. Maybe setup something with the Squire, a PvE Gearset
• 3-4 people in solo, 2-3 team in duo, 2 team in trio (For server cost, can't open a server for one team)
• The boss room can't be open from the outside after the fight start (So the first team to reach it have a fair try)
• Not sure about this one but, always one floor (to minimize server cost). If you choose PvE mode in Forgotten castle you randomly get Ruins, Crypt or Inferno. Need to figure out something for Ice cavern

Any feedback? Other idea?

Am I the only person dealing with druids in arena that 3 shot and silence me, panther chicken jump away in 2 seconds, and full heal reset faster than cleric. What I think they are trying out is how well the game could funcion 'in their visions'.
High roller is like a mini free battle pass, and if I'm not wrong they do move towards a better built battle pass system. (Currently the only AP points you can earn is from HR, and you don't loose progress even on fails.)
Removing it "forces" players to play hr.
What's in it for the devs seemingly is:
A) buy the game to play normaly and not the demo.
B) chance to test if the new HR system would be fit to carry the BP.

The thing i think they messed up is the steam store. Since it says it's free to play, people expect it to be free to play. (duh)
But the game really, isn't. It is pretty much just a demo without the upgrade, so it's misleading.

The other reason was warlock and ranger. If they did bhoping, there were hardly a class or two who could do much about it. Like ranger kills you leaving no chance for a melee class to even catch up, and if they did they just backstepped and continued. Warlock same, by the time you had the chance to hit em (if you had it at all) you lost most of your hp, and either just died in the melee or they phantomised.
The point is it was hard to punish it when it was done right, while other classis didn't benefit from itat all

Also I'm unsure if scrolling mousewheel after jump is much of expressing skill, but i guess since it's not reliable all the time it does take practice to do the timing. I think 1time bhop would be kinda a good middle road.

Hi @zinc sparrow How close am I of how the PvE mode will be?

Here's how I see it :

• A 3x3 map with at least one boss room
• FoW, Randomized dungeon
• You can only drop gear with a slightly lower drop rate than normal, the gear dropped in PvE mode can only be used there and you can only use gear found in this mode. Maybe setup something with the Squire, a PvE Gearset
• 3-4 people in solo, 2-3 team in duo, 2 team in trio (For server cost, can't open a server for one team)
• The boss room can't be open from the outside after the fight start (So the first team to reach it have a fair try)
• Not sure about this one but, always one floor (to minimize server cost). If you choose PvE mode in Forgotten castle you randomly get Ruins, Crypt or Inferno. Need to figure out something for Ice cavern

Random dungeons prevent the devs from designing a good map. At least, random dungeons in its current form, and prevents map knowledge from being a valid skill anymore (beyond knowing some cheese spots) and fog of war combined with random dungeons is just frustrating

Until they randomize it it's objectively the best map. It's the only one with rooms placed in a deliberate, thought-out layout. You might get lucky with an interesting layout in the other maps, but you won't even get to see it because they also decided to black out the map without adding a shrine potion or spell to reveal chunks

Also there’s definitely patterns in the randomness, I can reliably find specific rooms in goblin caves relatively easy based on the rooms I find, so there’s definitely a level of map knowledge that helps. There are certain rooms that can and can’t be next to each other, and certain rooms that can’t spawn in specific parts of the map

I really like the game's aspect of: Dungeon crawling, I can withstand FOW (For now as they increased explored size), fighting mobs feels GOOD, the questing system, token system (Even if it gives you sh*t most of the time), believe it or not I quite like sorting my inventories and selling shtuff and what not, the character building system, variety of classes...

PvP on early stages of wipe is GOD, but then as the sweatlords progress and the timmies don't, there's an apartheid between squire/low gear players and ULTRA-Turbo-I have half the inventory full of meds-Sweatlords are to wander HR and if they feel "troll" enough or just want to get clips, they take their lvl.300+ to 0-24 GS and have at it.

No wonder new players quit after a while or when starter edition wall hits... Low gear score lobbies used to be fun, engaging and you could have at least 3 mins of life to learn shit without getting spawn rushed, I feel for them in this matter really, sad but true.
