@glad thunder Rework bows. This is a dungeon crawling extraction looter. NOT and FPS. Bows are terrible to play against. They make the game boring. They are boring as hell to use/go against. They have fireball-esque damage with NO CAP ON THE AMOUNT and have a much faster projectile speed. On top of that, shotgun for when u get close to the RANGED class? That's not enough, give em backstep too? Just incase they ever have to engage in melee and the one-tap shotgun doesnt work....

it just makes no sense OTHER than if ur having issues attracting new players and you need to give them a crutch class that plays just like every other FPS. Its dumb and unfun. 1.8k hours and I'm just bored.. and im not the only one feeling like this.

Why is warlock allowed to teleport a melee weapon into his hand after kiting with a ranged weapon that might as well not have a MS penalty. I highly disagree. DaD boils down to slight cooldown management and stat checking someone, maybe some spacing involved. Hero shooters have positioning, spacing, teamwork, cooldown management, objectives. I'm not gonna lie, I'd take patch 69 at the start of wipe WITH some balance changes to the big things (one tap ranger in squire gear.)

Reasons:
-That was the only time I could consistently get new people to play the game.
-Fights were so much more engaging and people weren't scared to play
-Fights were longer which is SO much more fun than being 2 tapped (excluding barb and ranger fuggery)
-The gameplay loop allowed for new players to learn and enjoy both PVE and PVP at a more rapid rate, letting them feel competitive much more quickly. this aids in retention.

of course gear would need to be reworked to add value as well as mobs to an extent. But everall, this would bring ppl in and keep them for a while. This game has US... the core playerbase who likes things how they are because we are so used to it.. but its obvious there needs to be a change. As us core players leave and take on new games or whatever, there is no one taking up those new spots.

I think he’d have more of an argument if DaD was more of an ideal game. The abilities innately aren’t skillful- like phantomize. If a fight in DaD didn’t boil down to who can kite better/one shot first, I’d be more open to it being skillfully compared to other games. I just don’t think the gameplay loop has enough skill in it

abilities are basic so i dont need to know 1000 things about one class (loooking at you league)
options are limited so i dont need to think much
less teammates to be wary of
less Ults to be scared of
less cd's to track
no rotations to worry about
no true resource management needed (pots and bandies dont count. closest thing is sorc with it's cd's)
stats are easy to understand
pve is simple once u get the patterns down (coming from souls-like this was easy af)
overall this game isnt fast paced so u can think

whats the point of melee in this turned out game when ranged is literally better in melee, genuinely. MS and resistances are mutually exclusive (if you think they aren't just try building hybrid. Proceed to jump for joy in amazement that not only are you slower than everyone that maxed move speed but you're also still getting one-shot by longbow and fireball) meaning ranged always has advantage. Why does Iron mace want me to play call of duty on barbarian with axes so I MIGHT be able to get a hit or two in, why is the best gameplay route for a fighter to use a bow all match then MAYBE use demons glee. Why is warlock allowed to teleport a melee weapon into his hand after kiting with a ranged weapon that might as well not have a MS penalty. Why does a rouge fail at the only thing it should be good at then kill me with half assed kiting stacking bleed from throwables that don't self slow (and even if they do, who gives a !@#$ when bhopping and hotswapping remove any of the windows for melee engagement). WHY CAN SPELLS/BOWS BE FIRED WHILE BHOPPING? this games gets boring the second you learn whats effective, transforming from a dungeon crawler where anything can happen, to a fps where the only winning strat is to get advantage at range then slowly and safely close in, never committing to an engagement until its free. Honestly it feels like sdf designed melee for pve and ranged for pvp, boring stuff sadly. On a side note give warlock back his kriss dagger, only viable melee class and they remove it from the game, good stuff Iron mace

I load up the game and put on my 50k warlock kit thinking "Surely after this much grinding, I must be able to win some fights with my gear right?" I find some teammates in lfg and load into the game. We're clearing skeletons and zombies when suddenly, one of my teammates calls out, "CHICKEN!!!!!". My entire body freezes in fear. I take off my shirt and start to run away, but it does not matter, the panther has already smelled his prey and is leaping through the air towards me. I press Q in a panic, but I am silenced, removing any counterplay I may have had. As I pull out my sword, I am already dead, my 50k kit gone to feed the chinese dinner.

trio only and remove the numbers on gear and make them ability's instead . Unique to each main hand and off hand weapon. So a green kriss dagger as a unique ability. A blue one gets the one the green version gets and a new one for being blue. Then its less numbers and easier to balance.

Or you could keep the current system just make it so gear only deals extra damage or gives extra protection against AI. that way the game would be much easier for them to make fair. And you dont get the bs that is going on now. As well this would reduce the queue times since everyone could play in one bracket

That's the point, Dark and Darker has proven to be a good game model (despite the terrible decisions made by the game's administrative team). What’s literally missing is a company with a large team willing to constantly update the game and take over. If the game were completely bad, no one would play it or copy its model, like many copycat games out there.

In a fight, someone with bis could take on a whole lobby of other players, assuming that it's not barb (they can just ignore armor), druid is up there too, they are much stronger than they should be at lower gear ranges.

How about bringing back Expressman as an NPC that you can encounter in the dungeon? He could once again serve as a traveling merchant, allowing only those players that found him to deposit items for safekeeping and later retrieve them in the lobby, restoring his unique role in the game.

aggro stopping attack animations? you are wilding now. the attack is a multi step process. interrupting it because of a change in aggro makes little to no sense from my perspective, perhaps you could change that though.

This is to do with attack queue. If a mob has already started an attack invis doesn't stop them. Their attacks will still track you as if you aren't invisible.

Ah I see the confusion here. This is to do with bosses resetting if there are no valid targets. It's not very useful though as their HP is set to full.

Bosses in general don't have the same aggro mechanics. They work completely differently to mobs. They attack anyone in their arena even if they never dealt damage.
