i really dont understand the outrage around blood exchange for this reason and others.. like fighter has second wind for 40% hp healed, this can be recovered by resting at a squire quality campfire - so you can heal 40% max hp plus the campfire heal multiple times per dungeon as a fighter, and then victory strike is an option too for 20% of max hp on kill

@pearl grotto tell me what class and i will tell you how to beat druid i never lose to a druid they are insanely bad at pvp they are good at running though. A barb with a bardich can nearly one shot them and out range them even on bear if they go cat they get one shot. If a druid trys to kill fighter the only form they can use is bear and bear is the easiest class in the game to parry. If a bard fights them they can just parry with shield. If a rogue fights them they are forced to panther and lose because panths head is 5x so please tell me what class your having trouble is druid plss. I dont even play druid just dont see how people lose to them

Every player can play barb and win against people who aren't good at the game yeah. It's easy to play, but not as easy to master. Talking about the spacing, knowing how to swing large weapons in doorways/hallways, your footwork etc.

In reality they would be better of balancing the game for solo´s than trios.. not because solo is more important, but because the solo data is isolated data of how 1 class does vs another which is a great base line for balance. Meanwhile looking at 3s fights is subjective and way more complex.. What would we do if we start doing this? We nerf druid mobility and make caster builds more legit, we remove or nerf rondel/bow from fighter, we nerf barb, cleric and bard.. etc.. does this really ruin 3s? i dont think so. Solo bancing > trio balancing and i mean that from a 3s pov.

Well, as I said you look at the current balance in solo.. and the requested changes would be what people want in trios, too. Except maybe the cleric heals (those spells have to be balanced based on 3s performance ofc).. We allways thought the way you described and this is what IM said they want to do, but look at last patch they clearly missed it. And i think its because trio balance, they try to fix 1 classes problem by balancing other classes. The barb problem is that they dont realize that you can tuck your weapon away and be 330 and jump +pull it out to catch anyone. IM does not know this i promise you.

first, dark and darker is a class based/extraction/looter shooter/dungeon crawler, there is no other game quite like it, bad take.

the classes? impossible to balance across 3 separate party sizes why even expect the game to balance when multiple classes can literally summon fire in half a second. and if you think your class feels sluggish try stacking agility, or knowledge for the supposedly "too long" casting times. bad take.

the loot? go play HR you sound like you only play normals literally go kill a boss its RNG drops. bad take.

the dungeons? nowhere near finished and ever changing every wipe. teamwork? go find someone that doesn't see you as absolutely insufferable, to play your normals games with.

UI and controls? muscle memory isn't for everyone i guess.... bad take.

yes the game is hardcore, its very playable because you can make a character, choose a map/party size/gear score and hit the ready up button. duh

Listen, man... This is my favorite game of all time. I love and respect Ironmace for doing this, because it's not easy at all making a video game from scratch and running it as an online live service.

However... some of the things they are doing are just amateurish and are bad for the game and the community. They are just bad practices and the only reason not to address them is stubbornness of 1 man calling the shots. Here is a short list off the top of my head:
1 - No proper testing for patches. When you have weekly patches, there is literally no time to test. For any serious live service software (games included), it is common practice to thoroughly test changes before pushing them out to everybody. We, the players, usually spot the issues 5 minutes after the patch...
2 - Disregard for community. Broken promises too many times. You can never trust the dates/times they give. You can never trust they are ACTUALLY working on something (remember quiver? It's been 1 and a half years). Oh, and since we don't organize in-game events, let's ruin the ones made by community by patching in the middle of them.
3 - Not taking balancing seriously. By now, they should have a dedicated team working on balance because it's one of the main pain points of the game. Most experienced players can tell how out of touch some of the balance changes are just by reading notes. Last patch: they buffed less used barb skills (except blood exchange which was already OP) - great in the bigger picture, but worst time to do while Barbs are 70% of players in solos. Also they nerfed some Sorc spells without giving any alternatives. Whenever they nerf, I think it's common sense to buff the lesser used spells/perks/skills from the same class.
4 - 3h long patches. Do you know of any other game that goes like: "Ok everyone, take a break now and come back later to play the game. Sorry, but we won't bother setting up basic infrastructure to reduce the downtime"

overall dps spellbook is best, just a faster cast speed and less movement speed penalty. you will rarely find a case where staffs out do books or orbs unless they are named items. Illusory is a great example. Illusory tops spell weaver (Depending on playstyle and the character behind it)
